that above a place to take classes, above a place to get a diploma or a job, A&M has been a home to him to
develop as a person. The size of the school and the diversity of its opportunities enabled him to pursue both
a mechanical engineering and philosophy degree simultaneously, to engage in undergraduate research and
thereby confirm his desire to go to graduate school, and to travel abroad and see other cultures first hand.
Additionally, the Aggie family and traditions of the university kept him engaged with those around him and
gave him a sense of belonging. From standing through football games to attending Big Event to attending
Aggie Muster in Qatar on the other side of the world, he has always felt that he was a part of something
larger than just himself while there. Those two facets of growth, as an individual and as a member of a
community, are equally important and will fundamentally inform his decisions in the years to come.

a recipient of the Craig C. Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award for 2015-16. He stated
that for the last four years, Texas A&M has been his home away from home. During that time,
A&M has fundamentally transformed him. When he arrived as a freshman, he was unsure of
himself, unsure of how to connect with other people, and unsure of what he wanted to do with
his life. Aggieland helped him to know himself, guided him to form meaningful relationships,
and allowed him to find his passion for Computer Engineering. He would not trade his time

interview with Mr. Brown completely changed her mind! She is so glad that she met him because
he was the first one to show her what sets A&M apart from any other university in the world. In
the last four years, she has received a superior education, participated in exciting research, studied
abroad, made lifelong friendships, and become a part of the truly incredible Aggie family. As a
graduating senior, she is looking forward to the future, but can hardly believe that her time at A&M

college experience. She is forever indebted to the Honors Program and Mr. Brown for persuading her to go to
A&M because what she found there was greater than anything she would have experienced at an Ivy League
University. A&M is unlike any other college in America, from its traditions, to the Aggie Network, to the
heart of service that is unparalleled. A&M is her home.
