I have been a contemporary artist
since 2003. Diagnosed with Lyme
Disease in 2002. I was told “doing
anything creative moving forward
would be impossible” caused from
the damage to my brain. I now have
sold 1500 original pieces of art. I am
recycling found objects combined
with my usage of polymer clay. I am
truly loving turning one man’s trash
into my treasures! The 4Art Inc Gal-
lery is where my work has found a
wonderful new ‘home’ in the well
known Zhou Bros. Art Center. I will
continue to create beautiful works
of art fuelled by passion, whimsy
and imagination.

Statement:
Our condition, as described by the “Offi-
cial Orchestra of the College of Pataphys-
ics” in 1968, is indeed unsustainable.
The answer lies in the Ruductio ad ab-
surdum. The Square root of 2 is irrational.
We deconstruct daily. I don’t like your
heads, your feet, or your trunk. Roman-
tic Destruction is on display in the nega-
tive dialectic. Where is the fascination in
Dante? The quest for certainty is a plunge
into the abyss. The turmoil is the proof.
Contradiction is reasonable.

I have been involved with clay my entire life and
the only thing that rivals my love of ceramics is my
passion for education. Throughout my experiences
in teaching high school math, I realized I could cre-
ate my artwork about math and science. This work
is influenced by fractals which can be found in the
world around us. Through my study of mathemat-
ics, I have realized it’s universal. My work strives to
create wonder by showcasing how a simple form
can create something much larger. I am currently
the ceramics professor at Cuesta College in San Luis

Lacking a rhythmic family structure,
she picked up sewing, crocheting, and
knitting at an early age, literally stitch-

the 1970s and 80s Bergstedt studied a
wide range of traditional art techniques, concentrating in hand-colored photography and giv-

working as a fund development professional, transitioning to fiber art and completing private
commissions for jewelry and clothing design after hours. Returned to full-time art since 2006,
Bergstedt has combined the conceptual roots of her photographic images with the fiber and

sculpture but also in other genres of arts and carried out various experimental works. In her
recent work, she has created masks, named ‘M’ since 2012 in earnest. For her, the masks re-

flect a multifaceted self. They are made
of paper boxes could be analogized
with the faces of modern people in that
papers are collected, recycled and go
through a repetitive cycle of death and
rebirth in different forms just like mem-
bers in a modern society. Especially, her
masks are related to particular places in

of people living there. It is certainly as-

usually hidden from our view, but it is there if you look close enough. He
removes the context and replaces it with a new one, using complex forms

I am a digital artist focusing primarily on the use of photo manipulation.
My ideas can come to me from a variety of different sources, such as
a short daydream to an unrelated conversation with someone or from
just watching a TV show. In a lot of my work you will find traces of in-
spiration from great artists such as Rob Gonsalves, M.C.Escher, Salvador
Dali and John Pugh as well as from TV shows such as The Twilight Zone
series, Supernatural, The Lost Room and even Dungeons and Dragons. I
strive for there to be an emotional reaction within my work that may not
always become apparent until the viewer learns the title of the piece.
In some of my darker work I like the viewer to be a little uncomfortable
without the piece being distasteful.

Looking to surrounding environment, this may induce us the well-
known feeling of “déjà-vu”. Indeed, most of the people are happy with
conventional sights and aspects of the world. Surrounding reality is
actually not always as it looks like. One way to discover the hidden
aspects of the reality is intuitive: try to find out the secondary meaning
of the staff. This might be labeled a philosophical way. The other way to
display is to process the image to a scale that normal sight usually does
not perceive. This is the way I photographed for my project.

Photography has been Valerio’s
passion since his childhood
and recently he was able to ful-
fill his dream, turning it into his
profession. His love for photog-
raphy was kindled by the won-
derful black & white images of
Ansel Adams. He works with
both digital and film cameras,
and likes taking pictures of any
subject whose shape and details
attract his attention. Many of
his images are in monochrome,
but he uses colour when it is an
integral part of the picture. In
his photos he aims to show the
essence of the subject.

NovaScotia Living #12, fine art print, 60x40 cm, 2012

Paul-Juergen Weber lives and works in Cologne, Germany. Art works
since 1968, at first painting and assemblages, since the 1980 ies primar-
ily photography.
Source to his photographs is the visible reality as it is. His particular fea-
ture is to discover, select and process the intrinsic essence from the huge
diversity and variety of forms and substances to be converted into his
creative artwork. The key to this kind of art is to realize it’s quality sub-
jectively by the respective sentiments of the individual beholder. Thus his
artwork wants to touch people and at the best to fascinate and to inspire.

Patricia DeSaedeleer was born in 241
Argentina, from Belgium descent.
My family who changed residents
every two to three years, forced
me to make my own world to cope
with the constant changes, schools
friends etc. Drawn to art from a very
early age. My first camera was given
to me at the age of 11, I got obsessed
in taking pictures of my family and
surrounding. Later I got involved
with local musicians which gave me
the opportunity to experiment with
total freedom, expanding my tech-
nique, always exploring the invisible
world, unconsciousness, dreams or
nightmares. Have dedicated these
last years more on this thematic.
Mostly based on analogue-photogra-
phy, mixed with digital.

Red and Grey, digital photo, 25x19 inches, 2013
Although the world suffers under the adverse influence of industrialized
society, it remains pregnant with beauty. As a photographer, I strive to
be a mid-wife, to give birth to this beauty that arises in the trembling
moment like an epiphany. I cannot really say how this happens. My
process rests upon faith that if I am receptive and open, the image will
present itself as a gift. I look to record compositions that are complete,
balanced, unified, and supported by compelling subject matter. I seek
to convey a sense of transcendence, spirituality, and deep connection
with the world.

Tolga Sezen dares the way from photo towards painting.
During his creative process the realistic image becomes abstract. The
„planned“ randomness plays a substantial role in his work. He was born
in Istanbul 1965, as a child of a liberal, cosmopolitan artist family. In his
youth, he went to Vienna, studied computer engineering and finally he became an autodidact
in photography and digital photo processing. His artwork is photography-based. The first trig-
ger of his carreer as an artist has been an exhibition with photorealistic works.
Tolga Sezen: The moment
of the transformation of a
photo to a digital painting
is magical – like a slight-
ly approaching dream,
searching its way from re-
ality to an illuminated new
existence…

My photography is about
meeting beautiful people,
who often do not fit in or
seem strange. It is about
creating an atmosphere in witch people can
flourish and explore, with me trying to capture
something of their beauty, soul and quest. I
am never looking for perfect bodies or perfect
faces. It is the look in someone’s eyes that in-
trigues me. All photos are results of improvi-
sation and intuition. I choose a model and a
location, depending on the weather, mood of
the day, model-interaction and the settings,
then the image is born. The editing afterwards
is stripped to a bare minimum and only used to
emphasize an atmosphere.

Angela Duclos was born and raised in
the small town of Trail British Columbia
Canada. She now resides in the central
Okanagan, where she pursued her Bach-
elor of Fine Arts at the University of British
Columbia. Angela’s work has been shown
in countries such as Bulgaria and Croatia.
She primarily works with traditional print-
making but has shifted her focus on incor-
porating digital media within printmaking
practices. Angela uses a collage-based
approach to appropriate and combine
two or more images in order to develop
innovative meanings and new narrative
possibilities. Every day we are bombarded
by images from popular culture, whether
it’s advertisements, television or the Inter-
net. It makes sense to Angela to respond to
these visual influences.
