Designs will celebrate the creativity and freedom

that come from digital expression, but also offer
a supercharged take on natural and handmade

themes, with a vibrant approach to craft and re-
cycling that invokes the provocative spirit of sub-

ARHOJ STUDIO - CPH
Hello!

Studio Arhoj, located in Copenha-
gen, Denmark, is a small indepen-
dent design and production stu-
dio run by founder Anders Arhoj.
Anders began his work in
interiors and design while
studying in Tokyo, Japan in
2005. After moving back to
Denmark he began operat-
ing a small design studio
from his apartment in Ves-
terbro doing graphic work,
identity, branding and kids
illustration - and eventual-
ly moving into the world of
ceramics.
By 2013 Anders was able to
officially start Studio Arhoj
in an old envelope factory in
Islands Brygge,
a former industrial and
dockland area just outside
central Copenhagen.T

MATAGALAN

MATAGALAMN

CAROLINE SPENCER

As a great believer in
the talisman, Spencer
loves to provide objects
with energy that trans-
mit a certain value or
story, often even trans-
mitting a bit of herself.
The Iceland/Barcelo-
na-based, Chilean-born
floral designer behind
Matagalán works with
flower arrangements in
a very unique way. By
combining plants and
vases designed by her,
she creates compositions
that can be considered
closer to art pieces than
to anything else.

Since 2013, the
Matagalán collective
believes in creative, playful and collaborative work, where
art and design are always present, focusing on floral and
sculptural elements to
create dimension and space.

DESIGN HOTELS

Oaxaca , Mexico

The Mexican state of Oax-
aca was a Mesoamerican
powerhouse, produces
much of Mexico’s finest
mezcals and moles, is the
most culturally diverse
area in the country, is
known for its incredibly
beautiful pottery and
handicrafts, and is home
to a top international
surfing competition. And
yet for all its magic, it’s a Grana B&B
highly depressed region
whose economy is large-
ly reliant on tourism, a
sector that seemed to be
growing exponentially un-
til, of course, COVID hit.
