Balance
is the distribution of the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space.
Proximity
is simply the process of ensuring related design elements are placed together.
Alignment
refers to lining up the top, bottom, sides, or middle of text or graphic elements on a page.
Repetition
the reusing of the same or similar elements throughout your design.
Contrast
refers to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth
textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement
and drama.
Space
refers to the area within, around, above or below an object or objects.
