Since May 2022, our team had discussed and planned to use our CHRIST CHURCH MELAKA

As we know, the topic is the Sustainable Tourism at World

promote local activity through arts and craft, they can even
foster tourism to generate revenues.
The relationship between World Heritage and tourism is a two-
way interactive elements.
(1) World Heritage properties are major attractions for the
tourism sector.
(2) Tourism offers the ability to "present" World Heritage to the
public and to realize community and economic benefits.

Minecraft ~Constructing Process~
We started our project from building the A Famosa fortress
which is at the bottom of the hill. Next, we built the Saint Paul’s
Church on the hill followed by the lighthouse and the statue of
St. Francis Xavier. These three buildings took us about a week to
complete them. In the process of constructing out the historical
park, we used Google Earth to guide us. We also decided to
custom make the big trees beside the church so that they look
better than the ones that were pre-planted.

it was quite a big hill. We had to change the blocks to different

~Adding New Elements-Fireworks~
In the end, we continued our ride by pressing the two buttons
that designed to end the ride. On the way back, we had set up
fireworks at different spots so that the visitors could experience
a special and fantastic moment while enjoying the beautiful view
of the hill.

Next, the visitor could ride on the roller coaster which bring
them to have a ride around the hill. It’s much more interesting.

Besides that, we added in a glass sky deck over the St. Paul Hill.
In that way, the visitor could have a overall view of our historical

950 to 1,600 m from east to west and 900 to 1,700 m from north
to south. The perimeter of the building is 4,200 m. It covers an
area of 233 hectares, which is about 50 times the size of Tokyo
Dome or 60 times the size of Koshien Stadium.
The main castle tower in the center of the complex, 46.4 m high
and 92 m above sea level. Three smaller annexed Tianshou
Pavilions, forming a tower group. There are six floors and a
basement. The basement has an area of 385 square meters and
its interior contains special facilities not found in other castles
(bathrooms, drainboards and kitchen corridors, etc.) The first
floor of the main building has an area of 554 square meters, and
is often called the "Thousand-seat Room" due to its more than
330 tatami mats. The walls on the first floor have weapon racks
for arquebuses and spears. The area of the second floor is about
550 square meters. The area of the third floor is 440 square

A Famosa , Portuguese fortress built in
(Definately not the kind of guy that likes to destroy things with
TNT) Malacca, Malaysia, in 1512.
In 1511, a Portuguese fleet arrived under the command of Afonso
de Albuquerque. His forces attacked and defeated the armies of
the Malacca sultanate. Moving quickly to consolidate his gains,
Albuquerque had the fortress built around a natural hill near the
sea.
Why was it nearly destroyed ? Structures and pictures of the
gateway
Some time following the Battle of Malacca in 1641 and the
occupation of the city by the Dutch, the keep was destroyed but Malacca including the tower of the A
the outer walls of the fortress were reinforced. However, in 1807 Famosa fortress (1550-1563)
the British destroyed most of the fortress.

The Porta de Santiago gateway, and the restored Middelburg
Bastion, are the only parts of the fortress that remain today.
They are among the oldest European architectural remains in

Problem solving upon
completing the project
We seems to have a problem connecting
together just to build the site therefore we
used this strategy:
uploading files to discord when we build something (probably
not spamming TNTs)
inside view ): (sorry if its not detail)
First of all... the texture of the blocks are limited, we can't decide
what kind of block which suitable for the build
and as a matter of fact, we tried to make the build small but it
was too ugly :( It was not as detail as we can make as same as the
real site.
This was the previous one and is ugly, so we made it our
prototype and our guide for the scale upon the real site.
we found a light source block which is invisible if it wasnt
triggered and we started spamming around the build .
Therefore we made a solution that we were going to make it as a
scale of 1 M / 15 blocks. This will increase the details as we are
building anything. (Great idea)
There are a variety of blocks for us to
choose, therefore we use all of them
Comparison of the real site and
the build in Minecraft
Another problem is, there was not enough
light for the massive build . Using light
block source is extremely ugly therefore...
Learning experience upon
completing this project
By doing this project,we had known that Minecraft is not just a
game for entertainment only ,this is also a place for us to power
our imagination.
ANYWAYS,the most important thing we had learnt throughout plenty more of amazing site just for us to discover and explore

therefore we had to overcome problems together and found out

Moreover,as we needed to do a whole research upon the the real SEH HOE

history of A Famosa Fortress Gateway. We've learnt a lot that we

nostalgia and maybe one part of our life too. We must also

Himeji Castle remains as an authentic representative of an impressive building. We decided on building the areas with

distance relative to the main keep to get a proportionate draft. A
3D model we used helped us immensely in this part.

We then filled in the castle with smooth quartz for walls and
deepslate tiles for the roof to resemble the white and black
design of the castle using Google Earth street view and Google
images. We used spruce fences for the windows.
STAGE 2: Moat area
The crux of this area was the moat. This area was complicated
due to many varying heights of the buildings and walls. We took
measurements from Google Earth and planned them properly
with some discussion so we could build it correctly. We drew a
diagram as well. https://imgur.com/2iJOYtW Following this, we

Apart from the exterior, we also made the main keep interior until we were satisfied. Furthermore, many buildings were

natural areas, we added bone meal and grass, sometimes with
sand as the ground. The rockface was colour-coded then filled in 3. Hard to measure heights in Google Earth
with a gradient of blocks by a command to give it the brownish- Measuring heights in Google Earth for the building was hard as
yellow colour shown on images. it was a 3D software and the measurement tool would create a
slanting line instead of a vertical line when measuring. The
problem was especially prevalent in tall heights. When we
measured the height, we would take the length and decrease it a
little bit in the Minecraft build as the height of a right angled
triangle is shorter than the hypotenuse(slanting line).
4. Many complicated roof patterns
The main keep comprises many complicated and intricate roof
designs. It was difficult to create all the curves and details on the
roof accurately. We used many reference pictures and observed
the roof designs closely so that we had a detailed idea of the
shape. We used deepslate stairs, slabs and blocks to make the
roof and tried many times to make it accurate. We would outline
the shape with stone blocks then build around the stone to
complete the roof.
5. Choosing blocks for miscellaneous designs
There are many small details in the building which are hard to
replicate in Minecraft. For example, the barriers were poles with
connected ropes in real life and it was hard to think of ways to
create a barrier like that. We had some thorough discussion and
consideration; we decided on using the end rods and chains to
make it look like the pole and ropes. There are also many other
details like benches, information boards and more.
