ARTICLE I NAME, WARRANT AND MEETINGS
Section 1 - The title of the Lodge shall be King Solomon Lodge No. 5, Territorial Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons as
stipulated in Section 10-301 of the Arizona Masonic Statutes.
Section 2 - The warrant of this Lodge is a charter granted on March 25, 1882 by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of
Arizona, F.& A. M.
Section 3 - The stated meetings of this Lodge shall be either stated or called. The stated meetings shall be held on the first
Monday of each month, beginning at 7:00 P. M. o’clock except as provided for by Section 10-201.1 of the Arizona Masonic
Statutes. Called meetings may be held by order of the presiding officer.
Section 4 - Election of officers shall be held at the stated meeting in November.
ARTICLE II OFFICERS (Elected and Appointed)
Section 1 - The elective officers of the Lodge shall consist of the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden,
Treasurer, Secretary and three Trustees.
Section 2 - The appointed Officers of this Lodge may consist of a Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Steward, Junior
Steward, Chaplain, Marshal, Tyler and other officers as the Master shall deem proper to appoint.
Section 3 - Officer elections shall conform to § 6-1 of the Constitution of the Grand Lodge of Arizona and by Article XI of
these By-Laws. Officers may also be elected by acclamation as described in Section 3-101 (b) of the Arizona Masonic
Statutes.
ARTICLE III WORSHIPFUL MASTER
Section 1 - Authority, Powers and Duties of the Worshipful Master are defined in the Constitution and Statutes of the
Grand Lodge of Arizona more specifically in § 6-4.2,§ 6-4.2.1, § 6-4.2.2 , § 6-4.2.3, and all other sections of the
Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona that apply his office.
Section 2 - The Worshipful Master will contact Master Masons by phone, mail, or in person to request their participation on
the degree team (a.k.a. Trestleboard) for the Master Mason Degree.
ARTICLE IV - WARDENS
Section 1 - Duties of the Wardens are defined in the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona more
specifically in § 6-4.3 and all other sections of the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona that apply to
their office.
Section 2 - The Senior Warden will contact Master Masons and/or Fellowcraft Masons by phone, mail, or in person to
request their participation on the degree team (a.k.a. Trestleboard) for the Fellowcraft Degree.
Section 3 - The Junior Warden will contact Master Masons, Fellowcraft Masons or Entered Apprentice Masons by phone,
mail, or in person to request their participation on the degree team (a.k.a. Trestleboard) for the Entered Apprentice Degree.
Section 4 - The Junior Warden with the assistance of the Stewards, shall be responsible for dinner arrangements for each
meeting of the Lodge.
ARTICLE V - TREASURER
Section 1 - Duties of the Treasurer are defined in the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona more
specifically in § 6-4.4 and all other sections of the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona that apply to
his office.
Section 2 - The Treasurer will pay no monies except upon warrants, orders or checks countersigned by the Worshipful
Master or other authorized Member of the Lodge and with the consent of the Lodge. All checks must have two (2)
endorsements.
ARTICLE VI - SECRETARY
Section 1 - Duties of the Secretary are defined in the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona more
specifically in § 6-4.5 , § 6-4.5.1, § 6-4.5.2, § 6-4.5.3, § 6-4.5.4, § 6-4.5.5, § 6-4.5.6, § 6-4.5.7 and all other sections of
the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge of Arizona that apply to his office.

ARTICLE VII
DEACONS AND STEWARDS
Section 1 -The Senior and Junior Deacons, along with the Stewards, shall welcome and introduce visiting Brethren to the
assembled craft, receive and conduct candidates through the ceremonies of initiating, passing and raising, deliver
papers, resolutions and messages to the Master, Wardens and Secretary during Lodge assembled.
Section 2 -The Stewards shall prepare the tables at refreshment and assist in the collection of dues and subscriptions
when applicable.
ARTICLE VIII
MARSHAL
Section 1 - Form and conduct processions of the Lodge on all public occasions and to attend to other interests in the
practice of our rites, as the Master shall direct.
Section 2 - Assist the Tyler to open and close the Lodge and to set up the Lodge. Present the Colors of our country.
Assist the Stewards.
ARTICLE IX
TYLER
Section 1 - Be prompt and early so the Worshipful Master can open his Lodge on time. Welcome and accommodate all
visiting Brethren, acting as host of the Lodge. Register all visiting Brethren and see that they are duly vouched for or
examined. See that all Brethren are properly clothed at Stated, Special, and Funeral occasions. See that all aprons are
kept clean and pressed. See that all Lodge paraphernalia is in place for all Stated, Special, and Degree work. See that
all paraphernalia is put away when the Lodge is closed. Shall have care and custody of the Anteroom / Preparation Room.
Section 2 - To serve on the Temple Management Committee
ARTICLE X
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Section 1 -The Board of Trustees shall consist of the Master of the Lodge, Treasurer, Secretary , Chairman of Temple
Management and two elected members with Worshipful Master serving as chairman, Treasurer serving as treasurer ,
Secretary serving as secretary. In the absence of the Worshipful Master, the senior member will serve as Chairman. At
the annual election of officers of this Lodge, one trustee shall be elected for a term of three years to succeed the trustee
whose term expires in such year. Should a vacancy occur on the Board of Trustees , the Worshipful Master shall appoint
a member of the Lodge to serve until the next annual election of officers.
Section 2 - The Board of Trustees shall hold meetings at least once each quarter year and at such other times as may be
necessary upon notice from the presiding officer or at the request of two of its members. Four or more of the Board of
Trustees shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of any business . If the Secretary or Treasurer is absent, the second
senior member shall assume their duties.
Section 3 - All moneys, stocks, securities, and property conveyed to and accepted by the Lodge by bequest, devise, grant
or gift for a special purpose, other than for the general relief purposes shall be put under the control of the Board of
Trustees and be administered by them in strict conformity with the expressed terms of the trust.
Section 4 - The Board of Trustees shall receive, safely keep, manage and control any property, moneys, securities,
stocks and any other things of value which they may acquire pursuant to these By-Laws, or which may be placed
under their control by the Lodge. They will invest and keep invested as far as possible all moneys received by them
in United States bonds, or State, County, or Municipal bonds, or in savings accounts in banks or in other securities
approved by unanimous decision of all Lodge members present at a stated meeting.
Section 5 - The Board of Trustees is authorized to reimburse the Treasurer, from its funds not held in trust, for any
emergency or unexpected relief purpose, and not to exceed two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) on any one occasion
during the current year, without prior resolution of the Lodge, but all other disbursements by unanimous decision of all
Lodge members present at a stated meeting.
Section 6 -The Board of Trustees shall make a complete written report of the business of the Lodge under its control at
the stated meeting of the Lodge in June and December of each year.

ARTICLE XI
CHARLES REILLY BUILDING FUND
Section 1 - The building fund shall consist of $20,000 and any specifically designated contributions thereto, together
with the assets gained by an annual transfer from the unrestricted general account into the building fund of $5.00
per Lodge member who has paid dues. This building fund is restricted for use in leasing or purchasing a Lodge
facility should Schieffelin Hall become unavailable, or for repairs to Schieffelin Hall while the Lodge is located there.
This fund is to be managed and invested under the guidance of the Lodge Trustees in general and in accordance with
the provisions of Section 14-301 - Grand Trustees (Powers, Duties, Removal) of the Arizona Masonic Constitution
and the established practices of the Grand Trustees. The Board of Trustees may establish and adopt an investment
policy to provide further guidance in the handling of this fund.
Section 2 - The building fund shall remain intact unless approved by the Lodge Trustees and otherwise ordered by
affirmative written ballots representing a five sixth approval by the members of the Lodge who cast ballots. Such
balloting to he held only in response to a specific recommendation by a motion duly made and approved at a s t a t e d
meeting of the Lodge. Balloting to approve/disapprove the use of building funds will only be held after the L o d g e
membership has been notified by the Secretary via electronic or regular mail, or by a notice on the Lodges web
page that such a motion has been made and a vote will be taken at the next stated meeting.

Section 3 - The Lodge Trustees shall on or before the 10 of January of the New Year determine the amount of
restricted income from said fund during that calendar year. Up to ninety five percent (95%) of which may be made
available to the Lodge Trustees for use deemed by them to be made available for Lodge use. Any monies not
expended in the following calendar year shall accrue for use in the future years.
ARTICLE XII
FEES
Section 1 - The fee for receiving the three degrees of Masonry in this Lodge shall be -
Entered Apprentice $ __________; Fellowcraft and Master Mason $ __________;
Section 1A - When the Entered apprentice degree has been received in another Lodge, $ __________; and for
Master Mason degree when the Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft have been received in another Lodge,
$ __________; Together with such sums as the Grand Lodge may require for conferring any degree. The fee will be
returned to the petitioner if his petition is rejected or ordered withdrawn. No fee is to be charged to a candidate
who receives his degrees as a courtesy to another jurisdiction or Lodge.
Section 2 - The fee for affiliation with this Lodge or an applicant from a foreign jurisdiction shall be $22.00 which
sum shall sent by the Secretary of the Lodge with his annual report each year to the Grand Secretary in
accordance with Article VII - Revenue of the Grand Lodge Section 7-1.2 Fees of the Arizona Masonic
Constitution . Upon election, the member will be subject to the payment of dues in accordance with Article XIII
of these bylaws.
Section 3 - The above sum must accompany the petition for degrees when presented by the applicant.
ARTICLE XIII
DUES
Section l - The dues of this Lodge shall be $_________ per year plus any per capita assessment levied by the Grand
Lodge.
Section 2 - A Brother who gains membership after the first day of January may have his dues prorated based on the
date of election to membership. Under no circumstance shall the Grand Lodge Per Capita fee be prorated.
Section 3 - No member who has not been issued a current dues card at the time of the annual meeting shall be
permitted to vote nor be eligible for any office, and it shall be the duty of the Secretary to read in open Lodge
before balloting is commenced, the names at all delinquent members. Suspensions for nonpayment of dues shall
be in accordance with Section 9-202 – Suspension for Non-Payment of Dues (NPD) of the Arizona Masonic Statutes.

ARTICLE XIV
MEMBERSHIP
Section 1 - Withdrawal of Membership defined in Section 9-301 of the Arizona Masonic Statutes. No
recommendatory certificate shall be issued.
Section 2 - Perpetual Membership - The authority for this type of membership is contained in Section 9-601 –
Perpetual Membership to Section 9-606 Memorial Perpetual Membership inclusive of the Arizona Masonic
Statutes and is to be administered in accordance with those provisions.
( A ) By acquisition of said Perpetual Membership by a member of this Lodge he shall be forever exempt from
payment of annual dues, except any special levy by the Grand Lodge.
( B ) Once commenced the individual brother may not terminate the selected plan unless unnecessary hardship had
developed and with the consent of the Lodge all monies paid into the plan may be returned to the individual brother.
( C ) Participation in the Perpetual Membership Plan must be selected from one of the following payment schedules:
Twelve monthly payments of 1.25 times the annual dues
Twenty four monthly payments of 0.625 time the annual dues.
( D ) Immediately upon completion of the selected plan, the Secretary of King Solomon Lodge shall transmit to the
Grand Secretary all monies concerning the individual brother’s account, together with a certificate attesting to the fact,
for inclusion in the Grand Lodge perpetual Membership Plan.
( E ) The Secretary King Solomon Lodge shall, with reasonable notice, give a full accounting of each account to the
Brother so requesting it.
( F ) That all of the provisions of Section 9-601 to Section 9-606 inclusive of the Arizona Masonic Statutes be
complied with in its entirety.
Section 3 - A memorial Perpetual Membership may be purchased in the name of a deceased Brother In accordance
with Section 9-606 of the Arizona Masonic Statutes .
Section 4 - It shall be the prerogative of the Master of the Lodge to suspend participation in the perpetual
membership program through edict. Such edict shall apply only for the term of said master.
Section 5 - No petition for membership into this Lodge shall be received from a Brother that is not accompanied by a
demit from the Lodge of which he was last a member, or a current dues card stating that he has paid dues for at
least three months in advance of the petition and a letter requesting his demit from his present Lodge.
ARTICLE XV
COMMITTEES
Section 1 - The Chairman of each committee shall present all reports at the next stated meeting of the Lodge
thereof unless the Master grants additional time. These reports may be either in writing or verbal.
Section 2 - Other committees may be appointed as desired by the Lodge or the Worshipful Master in addition to
those listed below.
Charity Committee
The Master and Wardens shall be a Charity Committee and shall have the power to draw upon the Treasurer for any
sum not to exceed $500.00 at any one time for the relief of a distressed Worthy Brother, his widow and orphan(s) and
every such warrant drawn by the Master shall be reported to the Lodge at its next stated meeting and entered into the
minutes thereof.
Finance Committee
The Wardens, together with the Senior Deacon, shall comprise a Finance Committee, whose duty it shall be to
prepare, prior to the stated meeting in January of each year a written estimate of expected receipts and
expenditures for the ensuing year, and, to comment an all proposed expenditures prior to the same being presented
to the Lodge for approval.

Audit Committee
The Master at the stated meeting next succeeding his installation shall appoint an auditing committee of three, whose
duty is to provide assurance that:
1. All cash received has been recorded promptly and accurately and deposited on a timely basis.
2. Cash disbursements have been made only for authorized Lodge purposes and have been properly recorded.
3. Cash in banks is accurately stated.
4. Cash balances are maintained at adequate but not excessive levels.
5. Lodge securities and investments are properly detailed and subject to appropriate safeguard.
6. Interest and dividends on bank accounts and securities are properly recorded and deposited.
7. The Lodge Secretary’s and Treasurer’s records and books are kept current and that all recordings are properly made
and on a timely basis.
Unless specified in the Lodge’s by-laws, the Audit Committee should examine the records of the Lodge Secretary and
Treasurer as well as the records of the Trustees as of the close of the Masonic year with the report being submitted to the
Lodge and the Worshipful Master prior to the installation of the new Worshipful Master.
It shall be the prerogative of the Worshipful Master to call for a Lodge audit at any time for just cause.
No member shall employ the services of or permit a non-Mason, whether he is a C.P.A. or not, to audit the books of the
Lodge. Reference may be made to Section 6-4.4 of the Constitution and Statutes of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of
Free and Accepted Masons of Arizona .
Temple Management Committee
1. To identify the maintenance needs of, and the correction of the same, for building and grounds.
2. To develop and implement a schedule for routine maintenance for building and grounds.
3. To advise Lodge Officers of any maintenance needs that will exceed set amount.
4. To establish an operating budget for the building and grounds maintenance to be submitted to the Finance
Committee chairman and Worshipful Master.
5. To report at all Stated Meetings on the activity of this Committee.
Investigating Committee
Item 1 - Members of this committee will be familiar with Section 5-101, Section 5-103, Section 5-103.1 and Section
5-104, of the Constitution and Statutes of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Arizona .
Item 2 - Members of this committee will be familiar with King Solomon Lodge No. 5, TL Guidelines for Lodge
Investigating Committee.
Mentor Committee
Item 1 - Members of this committee will be familiar with the Lodge’s Mentor Program.
ARTICLE XVI
ALCOHOL IN THE LODGE
Section 1 - The consumption of alcohol within Schieffelin Hall requires prior approval of the City of Tombstone. This
provision includes the use of wine at a Table Lodge.
ARTICLE XVII
SECRECY
Section 1 - When applicants for initiation or affiliation are rejected or a Brother is reprimanded, suspended or expelled,
no member or visitor shall reveal either directly or indirectly, to such person or persons, any transactions which may have
taken place on the subject, nor shall any proceedings of the Lodge not proper to be made known to the public be
disclosed outside the Lodge under penalty of reprimand, suspension, or expulsion as the Lodge may determine and in
a manner provided by the Constitution and Statutes of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of
Arizona .
Section 2 - This Article shall be read in open Lodge whenever an applicant is rejected and at such other times as
deemed appropriate by the Presiding Officer.

ARTICLE XIII
ORDER OF BUSINESS
Section 1 - The order of business at stated meetings shall be as follows:
A. Ritualistic opening I. Reception and Reading of Petitions for membership
B. Pledge to the Flag of the United States of America. J. Reading of disbursements and bills
C. Introductions of Distinguished Guest K. Unfinished business
D. Conduct Proficiency Examination L. New business

ARTICLE XIX
AMENDMENTS
Section 1 - No part of these By-Laws shall be repealed, suspended or amended unless the same shall have been
presented and read in open Lodge at a regular meeting and laid over one month, previous to voting on the same. If
two-thirds of the membership present votes in favor of the motion, it shall be adopted. All members are to be notified
according to the manner prescribed by the Constitution and Statutes of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and
Accepted Masons of Arizona.
ARTICLE XX
DISCLOSING THE BALLOT
Section 1 - Regarding the right of the ballot box as sacred, and the exercise of its powers the inheritance of every
member of the fraternity, any Brother communicating to another the character of his ballot, either for or against a
candidate shall be guilty of gross un-Masonic conduct.
ARTICLE XXI
VISITORS
Section 1 - No visitor shall be admitted into the Lodge unless he is known or vouched for in open Lodge by a Master
Mason, known to the Lodge. In the event a visitor cannot be vouched for, the Worshipful Master shall appoint an
examination committee consisting of three or more Master Masons and if their report is favorable the visitor shall be
admitted.
ARTICLE XXII
INITIATION OF MEMBERS
Section 1 - All petitions for initiation or affiliation must be signed by the petitioner/applicant and recommended by at
least one member of King Solomon Lodge and one other member of any Lodge under the Jurisdiction of the Grand
Lodge of Arizona or any other Masonic jurisdiction recognized by the Grand Lodge of Arizona. When a member of a
Lodge other than the Lodge to which a petition or application is to be submitted signs a petition he shall certify that he
is a member in good standing and that his dues are current. Every petition application shall be referred to an
investigating committee consisting of no less than three members of the Lodge whose duty it shall be to report
thereon before the next stated meeting, unless additional time is granted by the Master, when the applicant shall
be voted on and either accepted or rejected.
Section 2 - If an applicant elected to receive the degrees in this Lodge should fail to present himself for initiation
within three months after receiving notice in writing to do so, the fees shall be forfeited unless the Lodge
otherwise directs.
Section 3 - Every person initiated to the degree of Entered Apprentice in this Lodge (except when such degree shall
have been conferred at the request of another Lodge), or elected to be a member thereof, will be given a copy
of the Entered Apprentice handbook.
Section 4 - Every person passed to the degree of Fellowcraft in this Lodge (except when such degree shall have
been conferred at the request of another Lodge), or elected to be a member thereof, will be given a copy of the
Lodge By-Laws and the Fellowcraft handbook.

Section 5 - Every person raised to the degree of Master Mason in this Lodge (except when such degree shall have
been conferred at the request of another Lodge), or elected to be a member thereof, must sign its By-Laws and be
given a copy of the Constitution and Statutes of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of
Arizona. and the Master Mason handbook.
ARTICLE XXIII
RULES OF ORDER
Item 1 - Every member intending to speak shall rise and address the Master of the Lodge. While speaking he shall
not be interrupted unless he deviates from the subject, or be guilty of indecorum or transgress the rules of
order, when the Master, or any member through the Master, may call him to order.
Item 2 - When a Brother is called to order he shall immediately take his seat and shall not be permitted to speak
again without leave.
Item 3 - No Brother shall speak more than twice on the same subject without permission of the Master.
Item 4 - While the Master is addressing the Lodge or a Brother no one shall leave his seat or hold private discourse.
Impassioned expressions shall be avoided in discussions on the floor of the Lodge.
Item 5 - Every resolution shall be reduced to writing.
Item 6 - No Brother shall be permitted to enter or leave the Lodge while the ballot is being spread or open, except the
Tyler and the Junior Deacon.
Item 7 - All cell phones and beepers should be turned off before entering the Lodge room so as not to disrupt the
proceedings. If absolutely necessary keep them on but put them on silent mode. If you must respond to or
make a call leave the Lodge room.
Item 8 - Officers are addressed by their office; members by “Brother” and their last name; Past Masters as “Brother
(their last name) Past Master”. Use the First Name plus Last Name if there is more than one brother present
with the same last name: “Hey, Duane” is not acceptable
