ABSTRACT This research aims to address and scale down the gender and racial discrimination within TV commercials, fostering inclusivity and equity in advertising. The study investigates the problematic and often bias practices of gender and racial stereotypes in TV commercials by employing a quantitative analysis approach. This approach will analyse and examine extensive commercial datasets, assessing patterns of discrimination by gauging viewers' perceptions of discriminatory content frequency, emotional impact to viewers and from the findings we hope to be able to recommend a more holistic and viable solutions to the issue. The findings will illuminate the prevalent gender and racial stereotypes in TV commercials where women are often confined to domestic roles, while men predominantly occupy positions of power and authority. We would also highlight how skin colour affects equality in the industry where it creates a dogmatic view as they are usually portrayed or given subservient roles or as antagonists. This research underscores the need for heightened awareness of this issue and suggested twofold solution: raising public consciousness on discriminatory advertising and offering tools to empower individuals to challenge and counteract these stereotypes. By applying the quantitative method insights, this study will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of discriminatory practices, paving the way for more inclusive and fair advertising landscapes. ABSTRACT Since the beginning of 1950’s, Malaysia has been the apple to other nations’ eyes as many immigrants arrived not only to seek refuge in this country but also try to find a better life. Through the hardship of getting this so-called ‘better chance of life’ many struggled to find their way into the country legally, making them vulnerable and prone to discomfort and injustice. We figured that many of those illegal immigrants are treated badly, as opposed to those with proper permits. They are manipulated in labour, social conduct and even salary. They are alleged in extreme stress conditions as they are pushed by many inconsiderable people due to its status which affects their rights. We here are to seek whether these refugees; given a rightful working permit, could lead them a better life, at the same time will the Malaysian economy have an impact in the long run. Using questionnaires, we hope to find answers whether working rights allows job selections and attains fair wages. ABSTRACT Recent reports indicate that human displacement occurred more due to globalisation. Malaysian Orang Asli communities are facing serious displacement that are not properly being acclimatised to. The objective of this study is to discover the effects of human displacement in the social and wellbeing perspectives by mitigating their marginalisationeffects. The qualitative case study paradigm was designed to triangulate the secondary data based on the meta-analysis on mainstream media and research articles. In-depth interviews with subject-matter scholars in the fields of social anthropology, sociology and social psychology were conducted and documented. Key respondents consist of Orang Asli from Kampung Kuala Koh, Kelantan. Human displacement is operationalised as the event involving displaced Orang Asli individuals during the Movement Control Order of Covid-19 pandemic in the year of 2020. Pertinent themes constructed from the triangulation of qualitative narratives indicate that the community was able to procure justice and attain peace. Findings consistently indicate that the sustainability and preservation of their community fromthe repercussions of the pandemic warrant the need for further aid. Feasible solutions include a localised participatory collaboration among relevant agencies and strategic bottom-up approach warranting equality amongst differing communities. Policy-based recommendation, effective program-level implementation and interpersonal acclimatisations of the depth of the core issues are also discussed in this study. A more sociocultural-appropriate welfare scheme can be implemented onto other indigenous communities within the nation. ABSTRACT The displacement of human populations triggers a complex web of ramifications that reverberate across individuals, communities, and nations. All parties concerned in this situation should not take this matter lightly. The objectives of this study are to see the consequences stemming from human displacement, whether due to conflict, environmental factors, and far-reaching impacts of displacement on various levels, including individuals, families, communities, and entire nations. The research methodology utilised is case studies where we identify, locate and examine a thesis and an article about human displacement from a reliable source. The analysis of the case studies will be carried out afterwards. The study revealed that most cases of human displacement stems from natural disasters and conflicts between countries.Cases of human displacement are especially immense in Ethiopia. Ethiopia continued to face large-scale internal displacement due in large part to armed conflict, followed by drought and other natural hazards. The apparent consequences of this global phenomenon can range between deprivation of resources to decrease in human population and also corruption towards human rights.Another discernible effect is the economical breakdown caused by the chaotic environment that rises from human displacement. The most optimal solution is The Ethiopia Durable Solutions Initiative (DSI).The DSI will support interventions across national development policy, legislative reform, institutional strengthening and mainstreaming of IDP-friendly solutions in spatial and town planning. ABSTRACT The gig economy, characterized by labour markets that relies heavily on short-term contracts and freelance work, has revolutionised the way we work. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the unemployment rate in Malaysia has skyrocketed from around 3.25% to a millennial high 4.54% from 2019 to 2020. In the midst of these events, people have discovered a remedy to resolve this crisis in the form of gig work. Due to restricted movement, people have shifted to an online-influenced way of life to search for basic necessities. This is where companies such as Foodpanda, Grab and Shopee start to become an integral part for most people during the pandemic. With higher demand for online delivery, comes the need for more gig workers regardless of educational background to match these demands. Fast forward to 2023, even though Covid-19 is no longer a stumbling block, gig careers are still soaring by the day. But, is it still a viable option post-pandemic? The purpose of this study is to portray how the blossoming of new careers in the gig economy have affected our local and global labour markets as well as its implications for occupational mobility and job security. The research design adopted is descriptive in nature where qualitative data elicitation is acquired from survey questionnaires, interviews and metaanalysis to look for possible explanations. ABSTRACT The rise of polarization and extremism in multicultural societies in this diversified population has caused societal cracks and are currently threatening the peace in our country. The objectives of this study are to discover how formal and informal education may empower youth and foster tolerance, diversity, and resilience against divisive ideologies. The research methodology utilized is qualitative with questionnaires created using Google Forms and studying scholarly articles from well-established websites. Throughout our study, we have discovered that the younger generation is aware and has a wealth of innovative ideas when it comes to fostering peace, but they have not been adequately provided with a suitable platform to fully channel their potential contribution towards peace building efforts. Hence, in order to build resilient societies, youth-led awareness campaigns should be organised to give youth broad exposure to other cultures and religions and create a safe space for open, differentiated dialogue between youth. Additionally, offering leadership training to youth leaders on conflict resolution could help ease the ongoing tensions in our nation. These measures can facilitate positive change, widen the knowledge of the youth itself and promote more peaceful coexistence in our varied society, thereby mitigating the threats posed by extremism and polarization. ABSTRACT Our research is focusing on Malaysia. Malaysia has been a multiracial country since it gained independence in 1957. It is where major Asian races live together - Malay, Chinese and Indian, along with its natives - Kadazan and Bidayuh to name a few for 66 years now. Despite each race being different in religions and languages, everyone has lived in harmony since then. Malaysia has been an example of a nation in a diverse world that nurtures equal access to races. Our problem statement is how Malaysia became a family of multiracial for more than half a century now. We are highlighting what makes Malaysia peaceful and prosperous with its multiracial. Our objective is to find out what unites the different races with their different religion, language and food. The method we used to gain information for our research is a brief questionnaire with 10 yes or no questions distributed to all forms of pupils and some teachers. We also interviewed a few pupils and teachers for some findings. Our research outcomes and findings show that the Malaysian government fosters practices and policies with equal access to opportunities and resources that have given peace and prosperous impact. ABSTRACT Autism Spectrum Disorder, or commonly known as autism, is a mental illness experienced by individuals ever since birth. What makes people with autism different from normal people is that autistic people tend to think differently from others. They are able to think differently from others. They are able to think just like a normal person could but they just couldn’t express it very well. In today’s society, autism is something to be frowned upon. In their eyes, autistic people are seen as nothing more but a burden to certain groups, organizations, etc. Hence, the reason why autistic people are separated from most social activities including in school, community and even workplace. This research is conducted to educate society in accepting autism as a difference and part of the human spectrum. This research is based on related websites and data collections from online surveys amongst SBPIT students and teachers to receive different perspectives from different age gaps. One of the outcomes is to include autistic people in every activity so that they won’t feel excluded. And the way to do that is by raising awareness through social media. Society needs to be taught the value of acceptance from the early stages of life. Through school programmes and even parenting, young and normal children need to be taught the importance of acceptance on autistic people. They don’t really know how autistic people act, think and socialize. Therefore, once we are able to achieve that, we can truly create a world where we can live and work with autistic people without anyone discriminating against each other because the world would be better if we embraced inclusion and diversity. ABSTRACT The absence of quality education is contributing to instability, conflict, and the potential for war. Consequently, lack of quality education may cause a major impact on the newgeneration in terms of building an excellent society. The objective of this study is to find out the main cause for absence of quality education and a way to solve issues regarding this problem. The research methodology utilized both quantitative and qualitative with a correlation with research through meta-analysis by means of studying articles, performing questionnaires as well as interviews with personnel from PPD (PejabatPendidikan Daerah) agency. The analysis of the interview transcription will be carried out afterwards. The summary of this study reveals that the main cause of this issue is lack of qualified teachers, inadequate teaching materials and unsuitable conditions. Another finding reveals that only around 90% of the world’s population had completed primary education in 2020, whereas around only 66% had attained a secondary education. The percentage for tertiary education is around 40%. Hence, in efforts to create a more efficient and excellent education, a possible solution is to improve the education environment by providing a safe environment and well sanitized environment. Another suggestion will be to increase the amount of qualified teachers by recruiting or importing teachers from abroad to make sure the amount of qualified teachers is sufficient with the increase of students attending the school. ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligence, commonly referred to as A.I is rapidly advancing in today’s world. Numerous countries have constantly involved their economic structure with the ever-growing development of A.I technology including Malaysia. Considering this, many attempts and trials have been made to align Malaysia’s industrial organisations with a significant focus on the country’s road safety and highways with A.I technology. According to The Star, in 2022 alone, a staggering total of 545,588 road accidents were recorded, which means an average of 1,494 records of accidents per day and at least one fatality every two hours. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the story seeing as an increase in the frequency of road accidents occasionally is to be foreseen. Thus, radical improvements are required to be made. The methodology of our research consists of two stages. First, we carried out literal reviews from the internet using the government official statements and scholarly articles. Second, we conducted a quantitative research using an online form to seek clarification regarding our topic within the immediate community in our school. Based on our study, it is revealed that there are numbers of endeavours that can be constructed by the government in making significant changes on today’s world with the help of A.I, consecutively making Malaysia’s overarching goal of significantly reducing the frequency of road accidents by the year 2030 acquirable. ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligence enhances the speed, precision and effectiveness of human efforts. AI is being used today globally across different industries. While AI promises to bring about incredible advancements and benefits, it is not immune to the biases present in our society. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our lives, it has the potential to complicate existing biases and perpetuate discrimination, leading to adverse consequences for individuals and society as a whole. The objective of this study is to find out whether we could actually change the input given to AI. As stated by David De Cremer: Artificial intelligence is meant to create value for society that is populated by humans; the end users always must be humans. That means AI must act, think, read, and produce outcomes in a social context. By adopting inclusive practices, promoting transparency, and fostering a collective commitment to fairness, we can steer AI towards a future that upholds the values of equality and justice. Let us embrace the power of AI responsibly and ensure that technology serves as a force for good, eliminating discrimination and advancing a more equitable world for all. An analysis will be done through data collection and questionnaire on how people can help the data input on the internet and adopt the ways to try and change the outcome AI produces. Research highlights that nearly a quarter of the Asia-Pacific population (around 25%) is grappling with food insecurity, mostly due to the shortage. To address this, research assesses Malaysia's food security in relation to rice production, considering both imported and local rice. The aim is to determine whether the country faces food security or insecurity and to identify methods for enhancing local rice production in terms of availability, quality, and affordability. Insights from interviews involving diner staff, local farmers, teachers, and parents reveal that many Malaysians favour imported rice over local options, contributing to rice-related food insecurity. This trend is influenced by factors like climate change, labour shortages, conflicts, and the significant impact of Covid-19. The interviews uncover various strategies for increasing rice production, including scientific and natural approaches. Some farmers propose implementing systematic drainage systems, using quality soil and fertilisers to yield high-quality paddy. Rice, being Malaysia's dietary staple, serves not only as vital sustenance but also as an economic asset. Boosting rice production could lead to more job opportunities in the paddy industry, ensuring easier access to nutritious food. The hunger crisisexperienced by Earth’s apex species is the astronomical rise ofrates of hunger and malnutrition at local, national, or global levels. On the other hand, food security, when stripped down to its finest definition, is that all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for an active and healthy life. Thus, the goal of this paper is to discuss the ways of mitigating the impacts of hunger crises through food security. The paper is divided into 5 chapters; 1)background study of the history timeline of hunger crises globally, 2)research objective: to understand the hunger crises as an economic challenge, 3)ethnographic research on methodology to develop an in depth analytical understanding of hunger crises and the positives of solidifying food security, 4)research outcomes on how food security could mitigate the impacts of hunger crises in problematic regions, 5)benefits of strong and timely action in policy areas which is needed to mitigate hunger crises. The paper focuses on the social purposes (why), content (what), pedagogy and methodology (how), and structure (where) of food security to lead the people of our world to a future of peace and prosperity. Currently, there are 1.2 billion youth, making up 16% of the population. However, youth organisations are often neglected in their roles of empowering youth towards peace building. This research explored the roles of youth organisations in empowering youth and their effectiveness in encouraging peace building among secondary and tertiary students. Participants from five secondary schools and three universities in Kuantan, Pahang, were interviewed through the qualitative method. Then, the analysis of the interview transcriptions was carried out afterwards. At the same time, library research was carried out to strengthen this research further. Findings revealed that the organisations are effective platforms for youth to empower themselves towards peace building through early exposure to volunteerism and awareness through educational activities. Furthermore, practical solutions such as the organisations initiating the engagement with the youth instead of vice versa, collaborating with influential individuals as an agent for youths’ voices and expanding their platforms to offer more opportunities to youth were discussed. The objectives of this study were to examine the Malaysian youth’s perceptions towards unity, identify Malaysian youth’s perceptions toward hate speech and determine if there is a significant relationship between the Malaysian youth’s perceptions towards unity and hate speech. The study employed a mixed approach by using surveys as the research design. Employing a convenience sampling method, 78 respondents were obtained. The data were collected using an online questionnaire with 14 items. The data were analysed using SPSS and presented in the form of mean, standard deviation and Pearson correlation. The Malaysian youth agree that the people in the country are united when it comes to hate speech, and that racial and religious unity are under threat. The respondents also agree that there are multiple reasons driving the people in the country apart. They also agree that training programmes on the dangers of hate speech would be most effective when delivered by the different parties such as the schools. Finally, the youth agree that at present, there is sufficient effort on the part of the authorities to counter hate speech in the country. Youth empowerment is critical for shaping the future society including in the context of global peace and prosperity, particularly to educate and empower the youth towards peace building. DAMIA ZAHRAA BINTI JAFRI, NUR EZYAN BINTI ASMADY FATIMAN, MUHAMMAD IZZAT HAKIMI BIN ZULKEFLI, ABDUL HALIM MAHMUD BIN MOHD HAFIZ. ABSTRACT Flood contributes a major detriment to nature, particularly to the sustainable livelihood of mankind. Over the decades, many researchers have been developing various mitigation measures for flood prevention and management in order to prevent the loss of lives and properties. This study is considering the significance of AI in today’s world which will be an effective aid to the instant flood wall that was created to overcome the risk of flood. The problem we aim to address is the lack of an effective warning system in our instant flood wall. Hence, the aim of applying AI into the instant flood wall is to alarm the citizens when there are leaks on the flood wall upon rising due to the hydrostatic force of water. This would help in reducing the risk of damage to properties since citizens are alarmed in advance. In order to collect relevant data, we managed to interview a few personnel in the related areas. A survey was conducted on flood victims in some flood-prone areas around Kelantan using a mixed data method. We found that people who live in this state are regularly facing heavy floods yearly, especially during the monsoon season. Almost every year, numerous victims have to stay at various flood relief centres and their properties are damaged. Their high hope is that the government will play a serious role in overcoming this problem more effectively in the future. Ultimately, this study provides a promising glimpse into the potential of AI towards effective flood mitigation in Malaysia. In addition, this gig economy sector started to grow during the pandemic at Covid-19 due to the movement restrictions that the government had enacted in order to stop the spread of the deadly disease. The growth of this gig economy seems to have no limit parallel with the growth of modern technologies. Due to this, a big gap is seen between traditional workers and gig workers welfare. The services such as P-hailing start to take place in the preference of the Malaysia's community. Therefore, this fortunately had led us towards this case study to certify the reality of being a food delivery rider in Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia. It is intriguing to actually acknowledge the real perceptions of being a food delivery rider .The studies are being done by reading and collecting data from online articles and case studies as well as having interview sessions with food delivery riders in Bentong. The study revealed that the food delivery riders are given lack of welfare such as no insurance, MC, pension and other human rights even though they are registered with P-hailing service providers. ABSTRACT Youth empowerment in peacebuilding is not a new thing, however there is a paucity of research that examines the youth empowerment in achieving peacebuilding in Malaysia. One way to reach great peacebuilding is by empowering the youth through education as it is essential for developing critical thinking and breaking the cycle of poverty. This qualitative study aims to look at the relation between the issues related to education in Malaysia and how the Malaysian youth empowerment achieves the peacebuilding for education. The method used in this research is meta-analysis in which an exhaustive reading on different research papers has been conducted to find the pattern between youth empowerment in education and their initiatives in achieving the peacebuilding for education. The study result shows that various initiatives and programmes have been implemented to promote youth empowerment in education and their involvement in peacebuilding activities. Through this, the youth has initiated mainly the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups to provide platforms for youth to have access to education due to poverty and advocacy for social justice. In Malaysia, organisations empowered by the youth such as SOLS 24/7, MyKasih and Ajar-ajar Malaysia organise workshops, training programmes and campaigns with the aim to raise awareness about peacebuilding issues and equip youth with the necessary skills to become the agents of change in Malaysia. The findings state that the youth empowerment in Malaysia does support the peacebuilding for education and prosperity among Malaysian youth through the creation of these organisations. ABSTRACT Rice is a staple food in Sabah. Sabah has a land mass of 7.63 million hectare. However, only 27% or 1.96 million hectares of land is used for agriculture and 87% of the agriculture land is used as palm oil plantation .This means less than 12% of the agriculture land is used to produce paddy and other means of plants . It clearly shows that there is only a small amount of land dedicated to produce rice. Plus, the rice made will mostly be exported and not for domestic use . This leads to low paddy production that will cause food instability. Our team's research aims to spread awareness about the low utilisation of land in Sabah and unveil the strategies used by farmers to achieve food stability through paddy production. Our brief methodology is a mixture of both qualitative and quantitative . Statistics showed that most people are aware about the low utilisation of land and through interviews, we also discovered the strategies to utilise land efficiently and to overcome food instability byincreasing paddy production . In conclusion, we realise that drastic measures should be taken to increase our paddy production in years time and give hope on achieving food security through paddy production to solve the hunger crises in Sabah. ABSTRACT The world population is growing steadily, is increasingly urbanized and the economy is getting more and more globalized. Ever since the growth in technology and elevation in population, the need for food has also escalated. This has led to a surge in the exploitation of the resources available; therefore, hunger around the world has too sky-rocketed. Hunger is one of the most pressing issues facing our world today. Despite significant progress over the past few decades, there are still millions of people who go to bed hungry every night. SDG 2 is about fabricating a world free of hunger by 2030. Between 720 million and 811 million people worldwide were suffering from hunger in 2020, around 161 million more than in 2019, and a staggering 2.4 billion people were lacking regular access to adequate food. With our current research, we want to explore how zero hunger is about more than just providing enough food for everyone. It requires addressing the root causes of hunger, such as poverty, conflict, and climate change. We aim to conduct several interviews and surveys to analyze how we can address the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations such as women, adolescent girls, children and old persons and what are the most effective strategies for ending hunger and achieving food security for all people. We plan to include MCQ's, Case Studies, LinkedIn questionnaire, etc. in our survey. It is our responsibility as global citizens to act and work towards sustainable solutions for food security. Meanwhile, disaster management is the planning and application of measures preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters. Preceding, and ensuring peace in global disasters can be achieved by educating young people. The research methodology is utilised by essays published online and an interview with a chair of sociology at one of the best local universities. Based on the academic, there is a fair chance that students may be alone in disaster moments if encountered in school due to the student-teacher ratio. Learning to deal with such calamities is vital to youth in times of destruction and conflict. Using active methods in youth education provides further effectiveness in peace maintenance, as well as pursuing a holistic approach. Additionally, giving psychological education will help to deal with disasterrelated problems. Youth is significantly skillful in organising in a short amount of time with their ability of a sense of self and group effectiveness which is one of the immediate and midterm trauma interventions, as seen in the last earthquake that occurred on February 6th of 2023, in the South East part of Türkiye. “Global peace and prosperity” TURKIYE 11th frsis full y residentIAl schools international s ymposium 202 3 TEACHER ADVISOR ÖZNUR ÖRCÜ WORKPLACE GENDER INEQUALITY FACED BY WOMEN İREM EMIROĞLU, ZEYNEP ECE ÜÇBUDAK, DILAY ARSLANTÜRK, ONUR YILDIRIM ABSTRACT After the male-dominated systems that lasted for centuries, women began to be valued in the society. Over the last century, women have gradually started to enter the business world. Yet despite the passage of time, there are still somestruggles that women face in the business world. We have chosen this topic in order to raise awareness about the genderinequality in the workplace. Workplace gender inequality involves issues such as unequal pay, disparities in promotions, instances of sexual harassment. These disparities can also manifest more subtly, like the limited opportunities that are faced by working mothers. Additionally apart from these outrageous issiues, numerous women entrepreneurs have difficulties finding supporters due to gender prejudice. Women, who are a part of the workforce, often confront to socialprejudices because they deviate from the traditional social norms of their gender. The gender norms expect them to dothe stereotyped feminine duties, such as raising children and taking care of the house. However, those who prioritizetheir careers over these roles, can find themselves separated and marginalized by the society. ABSTRACT Especially in the last two centuries, wars, violence and other factors threatening peace have always been on the front burner. People first found the sources they regarded as power and fought; then, as technology developed, humans used it as a weapon to fight instead of using it for a profitable purpose. Well then, as we questioned in our topic, what is the importance of youth in peacebuilding? We aim to stress the youth's role in peacebuilding, make people comprehendhow crucial it is and draw more attention to achieve this. During our research, we mainly procured vital information with secondary research methods by virtue of examining various studies and articles related to the topic. Plus, we used qualitative data analysis while processing the information we got. This study showed that youth tend to be naturallyidealistic, creative, and energetic. As a result of these characteristics, they are positioned to play a significant role in peacebuilding. Besides, many have direct experience of violence, conflict and imprisonment themselves; which means they are more likely to understand the problems, find effective solutions and influence the rest. Nevertheless, they do not have adequate opportunities, such as technical assistance or funding, which supports them in producing constructive outcomes. Thus, to ensure an appropriate environment for youth's positive involvement, a primary solution is to reinforce the related institutions to provide necessary support. Furthermore, we can accordingly adjust the current education systems. These measures can be taken to enlighten people about the youth empowerment towards peacebuilding.
