Introduction
Hi! I’m Donald the Duck and I’m here to share
some internet safety tips on the internet.
I am here to tell you about cyberbullying which
can happen to you.
Tip 1. Keep personal information professional
and limited
• Customers or employers don’t need to know your personal
relationship status or your home address
• They need to know about your expertise and professional
background and how to get in contact with you
• Don’t post any personal information online such as your mobile
number
• Never give out your passwords
Tip 2. Keep your privacy settings on
• Marketers and hackers love to know your private information
about you
• Both can learn a lot from your browsing and social media usage
• Make sure you have enabled these privacy safeguards, and keep
them enabled
• Both web browsers and mobile operating systems have settings
available to protect your privacy online
• Keep them as high as possible
Tip 3. Practice safe Browsing
• Cybercriminals use lurid content as bait
• They know people are sometimes tempted by dubious content
and may let their guard down when searching for it
• Where on careless click could expose personal data or infect your
device with malware
Tip 4. Make sure your internet connection is
secure
• Your vulnerable endpoint is your local internet
connection
• Make sure your device is secure, and when in doubt wait
for a better time
• Watch your Wi-Fi connectivity
Tip 5. Be Careful what you download
• Don’t download apps that look suspicious or come from a
site you don’t trust
• Downloading from unreliable sources can give you viruses,
adware, and spyware
Tip 6. Choose strong passwords
• Never give out your passwords
• Passwords are one of the biggest weak spot in the whole
Internet security structure, but there's currently no way
around them
• A strong password is one that is unique and complex-at
least 15 characters long, mixing letters, numbers and
special characters
Tip 7. Make online Purchases from Secure Sites
• Think before you click
• Know the scams
• Shop safely
• You need to provide credit card or bank account
information-just what cybercriminals are most
eager to get their hands on
Tip 8. Be Carful what you post online
• Think carefully about what you say before you
post something online
• Never give out your passwords
• Think carefully before posting pictures or videos
of yourself
Tip 9. Be careful who you meet online
• Don’t befriend people you don’t know
• Remember that not everyone online is who they say they are
• Don’t meet up with people you’ve met online
• Fake social media profiles are a popular way for hackers to
cozy up to unwary web users and pick their cyber pockets
Tip 10. Keep your Antivirus Program up to date
• Install a firewall
• Keep up to date
• Protect your info
• Internet security software cannot protect against
every threat, but it will detect and remove most
malware
