OVERVIEW 1
CDFI was established in September 2014 with Since then, CDFI has grown into an innovative

firms and startups, while it works with larger public
and private partners for testing and scaling. Some
solutions are being implemented as part of large
scale and impactful government programs.

CDFI’s technology platform Sunidhi is being used PMMVY Scheme and Platform Launch

Up until 31st March 2018, Sunidhi for Pradhan

bank accounts of 10, 96, 839 pregnant women
across all states and UTs except three (3).

Chhattisgarh has taken to SANKALP, CDFI’s data analytics platform, in a big way. SANKALP is being used
by the State Government to identify beneficiaries for two of its benefit delivery programs: Sanchar
Kranti Yojana ( 55 lakh rural women beneficiaries being identified ) and
PM Awas Yojana – Gramin.
27 District Collectors and 42 CM Fellows are also using SANKALP to identify potential beneficiaries of social
schemes.

Nutrition delivery is being tracked using
CDFI’s Benefit Entitlement Tracking Solution (BETS)
across 44 anganwadis in Mahabubnagar, Telangana
following the signing of tripartite MoU with District
of Mahabubnagar, Telangana and Aga Khan
Academy on 14th September, 2017.
Anganwadi workers using BETS are enrolling
beneficiaries, marking their attendance and
tracking nutrition delivery. Currently, nutrition
delivery to 1,672 children and mothers is getting
tracked on near-real time basis.

CDFI’s Kisan Advancement through Cashless 7
Innovation (KANCHI), a platform for digitizing
operations of farmer producer organizations (FPO)
went live on 10th April, 2017 in the district of
Kanchipuram.
KANCHI is being used by 14 FPOs in Tamil Nadu and Shri. Banwarilal Purohit, Governor, Tamil Nadu launching KANCHI
more than 10,000 farmers have been registered on on 14th March, 2018 at Raj Bhawan in Chennai accompanied by

CDFI and Department for International Development
(DFID), UK have initiated KANCHI roll out across 20
FPOs in Bihar under Bihar Agriculture Growth and
Reform Initiative (BAGRI) . CDFI is also in discussions
with Dilasa Janavikas Pratishthan (an NGO in
Maharashtra) to implement KANCHI across
four (4) FPOs in Maharashtra.

CDFI’s mobile based communication platform Samwad has been
customised to roll out MeitY’s digital financial literacy campaign
DigiVAARTA to drive adoption of cashless modes of payments. Content
has been developed in two (2) languages to engage mobile phone users
through interactive SMSs. Toll-free SMS based two-way communication is
the key requirement of the program. Therefore, CDFI worked with
multiple agencies to enable a toll free number 14444 for sending and
receiving messages for the program. Campaign is expected to be rolled
out shortly.

‘IPPB Dashboard’ , developed by CDFI, is
currently monitoring the roll out of 154, 000+
access points and 650 branches. The platform
is being used by over 800 users at central, circle
and branch levels. The dashboard offers rollout
progress of IPPB branches offering snapshots

On 9th January, 2017, CDFI signed an MoU with Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC),
Ashoka University to promote social and behavioural change by way of improved learning,
communication and access, especially in areas such as digital payments, direct benefit transfers,
financial inclusion, health and nutrition, agriculture, social welfare programs of government.

IMPLEMENTING DIGIDHAN MISSION
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is the nodal ministry for spearheading
promotion and adoption of digital payments in the country. The government has launched Digidhan
Mission in the Union budget of 2017-18 with a target of 2500 crore digital payment
transactions. MeitY which is heading the Digidhan Mission is also responsible for creating
requisite enabling infrastructure for government’s digital payments service delivery, electronic
payments and receipts (EPR) and direct benefit transfer program.
