SYNOPSIS
Cameron Highland is one of the top tourist destination and a major area for agriculture such as tea
leaves, lavender, strawberries and vegetables. The project proposal is to build a Visitor Interpretative
Centre which to give visitors an experience of the natural surrounding and gain knowledge of local
culture. The site location is at the main road going up to Tanah Rata from Ringlet. Cameron Highland is
a natural hill area and surrounding with tea plantation. The hilly environment could be benefits with
providing cantilever element of the building for a good view. The high tech architectural style has been
used because these materials were becoming more advanced and available in a wider variety of forms
at the time the style was developing. Principle design that has been applied in my building is
symmetrical because it balance through equally weighted elements aligned on both side. Opening area
has been used in the internal part. The interior design makes use of large, open spaces and minimizes
the use of small, enclosed rooms such as private offices. Open plan or open describes the elimination
of barriers such as walls and doors that traditionally separated distinct functional areas, such as
combining the kitchen, living room, into a single great room. Beautiful windy environment make it nice
create an interesting space such as sky deck and observation deck. The sky deck located at the ground
floor for visitors to enjoy to enjoy the view of the tea plantation. Whereas, The observation deck located
at the first floor, for them to see the panorama around the building and enjoy the natural scenery by
using provide binoculars. A good view gave peace to human beings. A void space is created for a
connection between the floor area. The building used modern materials such as steel, glass, concrete,
and wood. The steel used for making the building structure stronger and accommodating more loads,
glass used for captures more light and saves costs compared to electricity consumption, concrete used
for certain parts, and wood used for the floor part but not completely.

SYNOPSIS
To design a Visitor Interpretive Centre (VIC) as a new educational attraction to the picturesque
landscape and natural fresh air of Cameron Highlands. The project is called Yǒujī T-heaceae
interpretive centre, was carefully selected to be located at Mile 34.5 Cameron Highlands, Tanah Rata,
Pahang. Due to the site’s hillside geomorphology, the structure shall consist of cantilever elements with
natural ventilation and natural lighting features. This design will introduces modern architecture style in
order to compliment the site analysis. Modern architecture style was an architectural style based upon a
new and innovative technologies of construction, particularly the use of glass, steel and reinforced
concrete. Besides, it shows the emphasis of rectangular forms, horizontal and vertical lines, opening
area, and on honesty of materials. The concept is ‘Quadrilateral’ which means a plan figure made with
four line segments closing in a space. The building idea comes from the shape of tea tree due to the
site context where the tea tree was planted on hillside. This design uses a principle of design which is
unity and variety. Combination of ground and first floor makes a unity by form and shape. The variety
make the building looks more independent due to the non-grid pattern where the building does not look
rigid and casual. Based on the ground floor, some places are special space such as “Observation Deck”
where the visitor can feels close to the nature because of the opening area. In café area, the wall is
replaced with framing glass panel to make a view and opening to ventilation system. On the first floor,
there is café for a cup of tea with minimum opening to make the visitor feels the aroma of tea. The
building used the modern material which are steel, glass and reinforced concrete including wood. The
steel used for structure, reinforced concrete for floors and walls, glass used for natural lighting and less
cost-saving for electrical used, and wood used for interior floor for decorative to express its natural
character.

SYNOPSIS
The name of the building is Yulin Interpretive Centre. Yulin Interpretive Centre is a place which
represents the cultural heritage in that place. This project built for people to experience and gain a lot of
knowledge more about the culture there. The site location is at Cameron Valley 2, Cameron Highland,
Pahang. Objectives of this project are to provide the opportunity for visitors to interpret and educate
information on plantation developing and the history of nature. This site project is 1000 – 1200sqm. This
Visitor Interpretive Centre has designed with space for a visitor to see all about tea plantation and
processing. Most of the building in Cameron Highland applied Tudor Architecture in their construction. As
a Visitor Interpretive Centre itself represent the cultural heritage, my building applies either one or more
characteristics of Tudor Architecture style in my building which one of it is using a large group of window
and door. The idea inspired by the character of the chosen site itself amount, full with nature on its
surrounding. The idea is to design a building that can connect people and the surrounding environment,
such as tea plantations near the location. Many openings use in the interior design of this building. In
addition, open floor plans are used and minimize the use of small enclosed rooms such as private
offices. The open layout design reflects the removal of barriers such as walls and doors that traditionally
separate different functional areas, such as combining a kitchen, living room, into one large space. The
cantilever element came cause of the windy environment. It is because good weather can strengthen
the structure of the building. The building used modern materials such as steel, glass, concrete, and
wood. The strength of this building made built with the material of using timber for the sun shading
device to control the trace of the sun to enter the building.

SYNOPSIS
The name of the building is Highland Interpretive Centre. Highland is inspired by the name of Cameron Highland itself and
I am focusing a mountain as my design concept. Visitor Interpretive Centre is a place which represent the cultural heritage
in that area. It is build for people to experience and gain a lot of knowledge about their culture. The site location is at
Cameron Valley 2, Cameron Highland, Pahang. It is located at the main road in between Tanah Rata and Ringlet. It is
highly potential to success in a short period since many of tourists will pass by. Based on the site synthesis, most of the
building in Cameron Highland applied Tudor Architecture in their design. As a Visitor Interpretive Centre itself, it represent
the cultural heritage. I would apply either one or more characteristics of Tudor Architecture in my building which one of it is
a large group of window and door. The idea is inspired by the character of the chosen site itself, which is surrounded by a
mount and full of element of natures. The idea is to design a building that can make us feel as if we are in top of a
mountain and to create the connection between human and the surrounding environments such as the existing tea
plantation near the site, that will be enhance to be a recreation spaces for public to interact and socialize with, and the
recreation spaces that will be shared with the building user. The nature in it’s site surrounding inspired the design to
creating more public space by providing an accessible roof garden. The total floor area of Highland Interpretive Centre is
1025.23 sqm. The project required us as a designer to provide 3-4 special space in it. The first special space is an
Observation Deck which located at the Ground Floor (Connected from Highland Café) and Second Floor (connected from
the Highland Rooftop Garden). Skylight will be used as it’s floor to make us feel as if we are at the top of a mount. As same
as the function of the floating walkway on each floor, it is build for people to feel as if they are in a high place (Mountain).
Next is Highland Love Treasure located at the Ground Floor, all tourists can scribble their messages of love and more on
the locks then affix it at the railing grill as a symbolic of love and they’ve been there before. Thirdly, Highland Mini Market
that is also located at the Ground Floor besides The Highland Love Treasure. Based on Human and Culture Site
Synthesis, Kea Farm Market, Brinchang is one of the tourist attraction. It’s central feature is a farmers' market along the
main road and open daily, all the traders set up retail stalls from morning till evening which was a great place to seize
bargains on fresh crops including strawberries, corn, greens and fruits. Other local products available at the market include
fashion apparel, souvenirs, ornamental plants, packaged food and flowers. But, Highland Mini Market will only sell the
fresh vegetations while all the souvenirs and fashion apparel will be sell in Highland Souvenir Shop. In addition, an outdoor
stall will also placed on in front and besides of Highland Mini Market. The final special space is Highland Rooftop Garden
that is located at the Second Floor. Highland Rooftop Garden will be filled with various types of vegetation which have in
Cameron Highland such as, Strawberries, Cactus and many more. Deck will be used as the material of the floating
walkway floor. Most of the spaces will be using railing and glass wall as it’s main concept is Mount, where all the spaces
can make us feel as if we are interact and socialize with the nature surrounding. Moreover, the green element that will be
applied in Highland Interpretive Centre is Rainwater Harvesting and Natural Ventilation. Natural Ventilation being used to
appreciate the site climate where all the tourists can feel the light and cool air of Cameron Highland.

SYNOPSIS
The Cameron tea house 2 is probably the biggest and most popular of the three tea houses
operated by the Bharat Group. Due to the number of visitors over the years, it has expanded a few
times .Now there is even a separate parking area, in addition to the one in front of the tea house
(which was formerly called just a tea kiosk). Cameron Highland has a number of farms and gardens
that are popular with visitors. Butterfly parks are very interesting to visit and favoured a lot by kids.
The Cameron Highland Butterfly Farm is on of the most popular attractions in the area. It is located
at Kea Farm in Brinchang. The idea of my building comes from methamorphosis of a butterfly.
Methamorphosis represents as an architectural device. Cocoon is one of the butterfly cycle. A
cocoon is a covering of silky threads that the larvae of moths and other insects make for themselves
before they grow into adults. Cocoon hang on trees and they are transparent .The process of
methamorphosis of the shape is represented by passing through several stages per day.
Metamorphosis is a change or transformation of a body, a growth, a passage from a state juvenile to
an adult state. It can thus associate metamorphosis to a change in lifestyle or even habitat, however
this can also occur without any of the first and only happen morphologies or state changes. The body
of the butterfly will be the idea on how the structure and shape of the building will look like. The
building will look hanging to inmate the flying butterfly. The building will look expandable to represent
the growth of the butterfly. The process of circulation and movement in the building are influenced by
the movement of butterflies. The building hanging volume is supported by a column to support the
whole load of structure. Forming a semi-transparent façade that controls the volumes of the light,
heat and ventilation getting into the building. The one of the special space provided in this building is
bridge café that have inside and outside seating available and tudor concept which is the appeared
black and white with a pattern that resembled zebra stripes. Material in this building provided beam
ceiling that creates an interesting depth and contrast to the ceiling. Beam ceiling create a dramatic
visual impact to an area and they can also add an individual touch.

Agam Dato’ Bentara Kiri Wan Amar Diraja Selangor, sebelum ianya ditakluki Jepun semasa Perang
Dunia II. Selepas Perang Dunia II, bangunan PAID telah digunakan sebagai rumah tamu dan
kemudian ditukarkan menjadi pejabat untuk pelbagai jabatan kerajaan, termasuk sebagai Pejabat
Agama Islam Daerah Klang.
menghargai sesebuah bangunan warisan.
