PREFACE

LIKE SO MANY YOUTH OF MY GENERATION,
I was hooked on being “high.” I was a “try-addict”– willing to
try almost anything to experience even a momentary flash of
chemically stimulated delight. I could not help myself. I was driven
deeper into addiction by a ravenous, uncontrollable desire for
pleasure. I was always on the lookout for “the bomb,” the means
to the greatest ecstasy. Looking back, I can see that I lived
the precious twilight of my life under the governance of my
own desires, vainly struggling to satisfy a greedy, unyielding
master: self.

I remember hearing a loving, wise, nurturing voice from
deep within warning me that I was headed for destruction. I
prayed, beseeching The Creator to free me from my self-imposed
bondage. But I couldn’t break the grip of addiction. Again and
again, I asked God to help me. In answer to my prayers, a
divine intervention occurred, and suddenly I could no longer
get high. The pleasure was gone. The more I tried to get high,
the more my heart felt like it was going to explode.

The false pleasure that once bound me to addiction was
completely snuffed out. Yet, my personality, driven by
unchecked greed, kept “chasing the ghost.” Even under the threat
of death, I kept trying to fill the emptiness in my consciousness by
getting high.

The same thing had happened before cocaine became my drug
of choice, initially snorting, and then “xfrieebasing” it. I realized that the
drugs were not holding on to me; I was clinging to them. Cocaine

PREFACE

was simply the trendy earthly substance that I erroneously believed
could fill the void in my spirit. Even though the pleasure incentive
had been turned off, and while my heart was pounding harder and
faster after each “hit,” I could not stop “hitting the pipe.” Others
were dying; I knew I was next. I prayed. I prayed, appealing to
The Higher Power. But, my greedy self was determined to ring the
pleasure bell in my brain just one more time, even if it killed me. I
knew I was going to die.

Then, it happened: I had a “near death” or “out-of-body”
experience. Maybe it was both – or something else altogether.
My consciousness awakened in the spiritual realm with no bodily
sensation. I was terrified at first; but only for an instant. A loving
Divine Light, which I recognized as “The Way,” guided my soul to
a state of “Oneness” with The Higher Power.

I became aware of the presence of two spirit beings. They
bonded with me in consciousness and handed me the knowledge of
Divine Love. The knowledge of God’s Love instantly transformed
my soul with Joy so powerful that it permanently filled all the empty
space in my soul, smothering forever the flames of addiction that
had raged in my mind.

To explain a spiritual transformation in earthly terms is very
difficult – much more difficult than I expected when without
speaking I communicated to the angels that I wanted to “go back
and tell the world” about The Way to freedom from addiction. I
wanted to do so because of my love for humanity and because I
believed in that moment, as I do now, that the future of humankind

xii

may rest upon our ability to clearly perceive spiritual truths
now hidden or falsely colored and distorted by addictive
chemicals.

This message was motivated and inspired by my sincere
and heartfelt appreciation and love for Our Creator ! This is the
way to everlasting freedom from addiction as I was given the
vision to see it. My life since awakening has been ruled by the
awareness that I was allowed to return to the earthly plane for a
Divine purpose. This work is a humble attempt to fulfill my
mission. My purpose will be accomplished if these words help in
any manner to advance the healing power of Divine Love.

CHAPTER 1

YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

THIS MESSAGE IS DIRECTED TO THE SPIRITUAL YOU,
the divine essence that is experiencing human life
as you. If you have reached the stage of addiction where you are
determined to reclaim full authority over your self, this is The
Way. To follow this path, you will need to study these lessons and
meditate on them through the prism of your soul, rather
than the mixing board of your mind.

You have been chosen for this journey because you are loved.
This means that you are favored, and you now have the authority to seize
your freedom. Just go in consciousness to the innermost sanctum of your
soul, where there is no self. The Way is a solitary journey, but you will not
travel alone. The Higher Power will be your constant companion,
and the heavenly bliss of Divine Love will serve as both your shield
and your sword. Follow this path, and you will achieve Perfect Freedom.

Freedom to know and fulfill your purpose is your soul's
greatest desire, and therefore your only true satisfaction. But, obsession
with carnal pleasure is the other pole of your capacity. So
before you can defeat addiction, you must liberate your mind.

1

YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

To free your mind, you must eat nutritiously, drink
enough water, smoke nothing, and never get high. These are
the four pillars of sobriety. Now open wide your heart and let
your love for God fill your consciousness. In return, you
will be rewarded with spiritual enlightenment so fulfilling that
you will no longer be bound by the chains of desire.

This message is for those who believe in a Higher Power, the
source from which all spirituality emanates. In these
teachings we may use the following names interchangeably: Allah,
Brahma, Creator, God, Great Spirit, I Am, Maya, Jehovah, The Almighty,
or Yahweh.

If your wellness is advanced through the life and teachings of
Buddha, Jesus, Krisha, Mohammad, Moses, or others to whom

humanity looks for truth and spiritual guidance, we urge you to draw
upon their loving wisdom when you apply these instructions and
exercises.

All seekers of spiritual light may contemplate
these words through the wisdom of one or all of the
preachers, prophets, imams, priests, masters, rabbis, and
disciples who have sought to understand the true meaning of our existence

since the beginning of human thought.

Indeed, these words are intended for all who
seek spiritual enlightenment. They are based on the knowledge
that once an addicted person’s mind has been liberated, Divine
Light will stream forth, and spiritual truths which now are
hidden or falsely colored will be revealed with perfect clarity.

And know that the love within you will calm your desires
and harness your passions.

THE WAY TO FREEDOM FROM CHEMICAL ADDICTION

If you earnestly seek guidance from God, you will find it. And
you will learn to feel God in everything, in everybody, and everywhere. But

disregard whatever you hear, see or feel which you cannot confirm
from within as advancing Divine Love.

If you are one who has not grasped the concept of Divinity, you
may also benefit from these lessons by applying the fundamental

spiritual principles upon which Divine Love is based to achieve
sobriety. F o r with a sober mind you will have a better
chance of finding the correct path. And know that when you

discover the vast reservoir of Divine Love within your soul, you will know
there is a Higher Power, and you as well will be set free from addiction.

Addiction

Addicts can be found in practically every city, town, and
village of every region on every continent.
Addiction ruins the lives of ordinary people, corrupts
the rule of powerful leaders, and threatens the future of our
world.

That being so, addiction is such a common

occurrence that it seemingly has a grip on all of

humanity. This controlling influence can be found in

many forms: prescription drugs, heroin, alcohol,

caffeine, sugar, and designer drugs, to name a few. When

referring to the nature of chemical addiction in this

work, please note that the terms “drugs, “substances,”

and “chemicals” are used interchangeably. These

healing lessons are also applicable to

compulsive behaviors like shopping, gambling, eating,

and video screen obsessi3on when you substitute the
behavior for the word “substance.”

These words have been drawn to you who are addicted
because you have reached the phase in your struggle with
dependency where you realize that you must call on a power
higher than yourself to defeat addiction’s dominance over you.
Your experience with addiction has quickened you and
prepared you. You have been chosen not in the lap of
luxury and privilege but in the scorching flame of addiction.

Chosen One, the highest goal for you is a
complete recovery. However, that is merely half of
your assignment. You are also called to assist The Great
Spirit as a liberator of souls. By so doing, you will extend
the range, power, and authority of Divine Love in the world.

Led by The Higher Power within, no one could be better
prepared to turn addicts from the error of their ways than you.
For just as the hardest steel is forged in the hottest fire, so
too it is that the most effective agent of conquest in this
struggle for freedom will be one who has emerged from the
darkest pit of addiction.

Recovery

Those of you who are still lingering in recovery are held in this
limbo state by nothing more than your own greed; you are
being tormented by your unchecked desires. Addiction
snared you with the promise of satisfaction and keeps you
on the hook in a never-ending quest for the ultimate high. But

your battle with addiction has awakened you, and
you now have an opportunity to grow from the experience.

To be transformed by addiction you must realize that the highest

ecstasy possible is deep within your soul. And you don't have to drink,

smoke, or inject anything to experience it. The satisfaction you desire is

yours for the asking. It is Divine Love – God’s Love for you and the blissful

rapture of loving God. Learn to feel and express Divine Love and, you will

transition from recovering to recovered, from oblivious to

enlightened – as those who have been liberated from

addiction are doubly rewarded.

The Select Few

If you are one of the unselfish souls who are neither addicted nor
recovering, but rather one who is contemplating these words because
you have a selfless desire to help liberate others, you too have been chosen.
You are a selfless freedom fighter committed to serving God in the battle
against addiction.

However, your chosenness does not come by way of suffering;
you were selected because of your spiritual discipline and favored
with these lessons because you maintained governance over your
desires while others around you were being ruled by theirs. If you
are indeed free from life’s many addictions, you are one of the select
few.

Nonetheless, before you count yourself amongst this exclusive
group and claim that you are not addicted to anything, you
should take stock of your actions, because, in reality, almost
every living person is vulnerable to addiction.

5

Questions

The following questions will help you determine if you are
indeed one of the select:

1) Do you get anxious or upset if you can't have your
coffee, tea, favorite alcoholic beverage, sugary treat, herb, etc.?

2) Is there an addictive substance that you cannot resist?

3) Do you find yourself consuming a substance that you
know is not good for you?

4) Have you ever told someone who was concerned about
your behavior "I could quit if I wanted to"?

5) If you could quit, then why haven’t you?

6) Can you earnestly say that addiction does not have any hold over
you whatsoever?

7) Do you occasionally get high, or "buzzed?"

If you can truthfully answer these questions and earnestly
conclude that you are entirely free from any addiction, then you
have been truly blessed. And even greater blessings will be
bestowed upon you once you embrace these words. For through
them your understanding of those who struggle with addiction will
be advanced, and you will gain an empathetic understanding of the
suffering that your addicted brothers and sisters are experiencing.
In this manner, you will achieve the highest enlightenment, and
your consciousness will be lifted to a higher spiritual level, which
will empower you to help rescue other souls from the dreadful
bonds of addiction.

6

As a missionary in this work, you will make up for any
omissions and transgressions for which you are responsible. This
sacred and noble mission is a destiny of choice. And you sincere
seekers who decide to equip yourselves with these teachings, not
for personal reasons, but because of your fervent love for others,
will be endowed with the healing power of Divine Love.

Let the knowledge of your Oneness with God inspire you to go
forth and help our brothers and sisters who are thirsting for
liberty. But know that without God’s Love and Grace over your
life, even you would be vulnerable to the forces of addiction.

Those of you who never have been addicted will find that
your capacity to control the desires of your flesh and resist the
allurements of your mind, when combined with these lessons, will
give you the ability to teach as an equal amongst the learned ones
who were prodded along the path to freedom by the scorching
inferno of addiction.

These lessons will also uplift you spiritually; they
will motivate and inspire you to be a powerful champion in the
battle to help your addicted brothers and sisters break free.

Teaching

Contrary to what has just been stated, many reformed addicts
who have successfully achieved and maintained complete
recovery assert that being qualified to help others break
free from addiction should be based solely upon
the grueling experience of addiction. They believe that
only a former addict can be successful in this mission.

7

In reply to such claims, it is necessary to remind those who
make them that many of the most successful
psychiatrists, counselors, and providers have never
suffered from a substance abuse disorder. The unvarnished truth is that
"recovering" is not the only model for behavioral wellness.
Even complete recovery does not grant former addicts
a monopoly on teaching others how to break free.

Any comprehensive guide to everlasting freedom from addiction
must include wholistic prevention strategies, complete abstinence, and life-
long sobriety! Those who never suffered from addiction have
much to offer our cause. A study of the prevention landscape and a clear
understanding of the discipline that it took to defy addiction in a world
filled with addicts is a perfect model for everlasting healing and behavioral

wellness.

Moreover, just as all can learn from understanding the
experience of the most hardened addict, the same addict can learn
from those who have never been addicted that there is another way
of thinking about addiction. These two seemingly conflicting
experiences, when taken together in the spirit of love, can
go a long way in helping liberate all of our brothers and
sisters who are held in bondage by a self-created master.

This means that those of you who are studying these words for the
caring purpose of liberating others are fully qualified to be chosen. With
unwavering judgment and tenacious self-discipline, you refused
to allow lustful thoughts to take control of your mind or lure you
into substance abuse. Such a demonstration of spiritual strength is
proof that you are an ideal choice for this mission.

8

Firmly shielding your mind against substance abuse was an
individual challenge that you met with courage, and, by so doing,
proved that you have the virtue of prudence as well as an
indomitable spirit. The strength required to help liberate others
radiates out to the world from your unconquerable soul.

So, introducing addicts and those at risk to the healing
power of Divine Love is the urgent duty of every awakened
spirit receiving this message. And you can be confident
that working to help free others from addiction will accelerate
your own rise to the highest level of spiritual awareness.

Understanding Addiction

Obsession and suffering are the cause and effect principles of

addiction. The endless chase after something that can never

be captured torments the soul. Addicts obsess because addictive

substances damage the brain and raise desire beyond the possibility

of satisfaction. Suffering is a spiritual reaction to the resulting

sense of bondage.

Although there are spiritual as well as psychological

factors, addiction is a neurochemical disease evidenced by

physical withdrawal symptoms which make addictive

behavior agonizingly unpleasant to give up.

But, freedom is a constant demand of the human soul. It
springs from the spirit, which resides in and defines the
soul. Perfect freedom is unchecked liberty to express
Divine Love. The spirit is responsible for directing
the mind. The mind is in charge of the flesh. Addiction

9

is the enslavement of the mind by the desires of the flesh. The flesh
and the spirit are opposites in nature and character. The flesh is
temporary; the spirit is eternal. When the flesh is in control, it
wreaks destruction; the spirit bestows life everlasting. As long as
your mind stubbornly rejects guidance from God, the spirit and
the flesh will be at war with each other over control of
your soul. So, to live in harmony, it will be necessary
for the Spiritual You to win this internal battle, for your
soul will never be at peace with being dominated by the flesh.

Now it would lead too far from the point right now to try to
fully explain the “Divine Order” relative to spirit, soul, mind, and
self. So, it will serve our purpose for you to know that in these
lessons the words "Spiritual You" and “your spirit” refer to the
Higher Self and the words “personality,” “mind,” and
“flesh” refer to characteristics of the lower self .

About the desires of the flesh, it is essential to understand
that compulsive behavior towards life's essentials
(food, water, sex, etc.) does not constitute addiction. How could
something that is required for life be addictive? Careful consideration
should reveal that labeling life’s basic needs as addictive confuses
and plays down the real meaning of addiction.

During the critical challenges that you will face in your fight
to gain freedom from addiction, your understanding of the
true definition of addiction will shape your destiny. This
means that your success or failure in recovery will
depend on you realizing 1t0hat addiction is a mental illness

that causes the desire for pleasure to override survival instincts,
logic, intellect, and all rationality.

By embracing these teachings, you will be equipped to
engage your mind and your emotions to resist the deadly
seductions that bind you to your desires. By these words,
the way to freedom from addiction will be clearly revealed.

If you are still uncertain as to whether your desire to
get high constitutes addiction or if you require a deeper
understanding of addiction's destructiveness before you
will be able to sincerely answer the above questions, you
would be well served to turn immediately to
page 95 (“Addictions”). Review the entire chapter
carefully until you can determine without a doubt whether
or not you suffer from chemical addiction.

Transformative Suffering

The human soul is strengthened by suffering because
people strive harder to discern God’s Will when they are
distressed. From suffering during periods of loss, hardship, grief,
or sorrow, the human spirit is transformed. Divine Love makes it
possible for you to seize upon each setback as an opportunity for
spiritual growth. But this transformative process cannot take
place in a mind that is obsessed with escaping
from reality by getting high or "buzzed."

Accordingly, your experience with addiction will wisen
you only when you engage Divine Love to remain clean and
sober, free from the compulsive desires of addiction. Release
your
11

mind from addiction and be at peace with the experience; find
the silver lining in it and be transformed by your suffering.
Indeed, adversity is part of the creative process.
Throughout the universe, God is continuously at work as
seemingly destructive cataclysms routinely contribute to creation.

By design, every solar flare, cosmic blast, atomic explosion,
and earthly eruption presents an opportunity to advance The Creator’s
Divine Plan. This is a triple blessing as it applies to the
enlightenment of the human soul because the favor of God’s
Love turns human adversity into 1) hope, 2) enlightenment, and

3) rebirth.

You likely gained some wisdom from your encounter
with addiction. If you did, it is what these lessons refer to as
“earned wisdom” – the combined sum of all your experiences and
virtues. But wisdom, no matter how it is obtained, will not lead to
spiritual enlightenment unless it is applied with Divine Love. A
learning experience without Divine Love is barren, but when
combined, they are transformed into wisdom. The issue here is
whether the interaction of the one with the other will guarantee
eternal liberation from addiction. It will.

Much in the same way that both negative and positive
charges are necessary to spark an electric current, the
principle of combining distinct elements to bring about a
positive result is also embodied in the fundamentals of physical
fitness training, which teaches that even the most challenging
work-out regimen will yield the best results when it is combined
with the proper nutrients.

12

Similarly, soul advancement can best be achieved
when worldly challenges are connected with
spiritual virtues. So, suffering alone will not gain you the earned
wisdom that the soul requires for growth and
enlightenment. Earned wisdom i s reaped from a marriage of
worldly tribulations with Divine Love.

Earned wisdom based on a foundation of love is Divine
Wisdom. Divine Love and Divine Wisdom are the fundamental
elements of everlasting liberty. Once you become proficient in
the art of harmonizing your life experiences with Divine Love,
you will achieve the highest spiritual enlightenment, and
your mind will be lifted to a permanent state of Perfect Freedom.

The Thirst for Pleasure

The desire for an elevated sense of joy is not necessarily
wrongdoing or vice. The thirst for pleasure is a natural expression
of a primordial longing for Heavenly Bliss – a universal
yearning for Oneness with God.

However, "getting high" by abusing drugs or alcohol to
achieve a heavenly state is a perverted expression of this natural
desire. Engaging in addictive behavior for spiritual
advancement is equivalent to trying to sneak into paradise
through the back door. All who do so are religious bandits.

One cannot enter the narrow gate to Oneness by the broad
path of worldly desire. Instead of satisfaction, the only fruit
an addicted person will ever reap from compulsive behavior is

13

destruction. The more an addict tries to escape from reality by
getting high, the more the addict sets the flesh up as a fetish – a
false God that can never be pleased.

Spirit Over Self

Spirit and Self are bound together in life, but only one

l can be the master, the other its servant. Whereas the one is
everlasting, the second is momentary, and fleeting at that;

t he spirit a loving shepherd, the self a gluttonous tyrant.

Either way, the soul owns both the victory and the fail. The
who defines the what; the way determines the where. So, Chosen

One, it is essential that you exercise control over
every aspect of your personality if you are to reach
your fullest potential in both this life and the next. This
truth is all the more so as it relates to the desires of the
flesh. Thus, you are required to do more than curb or
moderate your passions; you must learn to use them as tools
to advance The Creator’s Great Plan. Should you fail to
immediately do so, know now that you may never
accomplish the mission for which you have been
chosen, nor would you be able to enjoy the bountiful
blessings that have been assigned to you.

Of course, The Creator allowed you the freedom to fall into
addiction, knowing that it would affect your life in such a way as
to awaken the Spiritual You. Yes, The Higher Power could have but
did nothing to override your desires, knowing that your self-
inflected problems were necessary to help you take responsibility
for controlling

14

your personality. The Creator allowed you to learn valuable
lessons, which evidently you needed.

You know now that you have a duty to govern your personality.
For every addicted person remains so by failing to control the selfish
desires of the flesh. Contrastingly, the sage maintains sobriety more so from
the habit of doing right than any effort not to do wrong – expressing
Divine Love generates spiritual joy, and advancing God's Plan begets a
virtuous life. Purpose is the best defense as well as the best offense against
addiction.

But, addiction's pain has awakened in you a deep
spiritual awareness of who you are. The bad things that
happened during your encounter with addiction
were allowed in your life to quicken you with an
unyielding resolve to defeat addiction. Make use of addiction by
making yourself better from it. The Creator has made you so that
you can be enlightened and strengthened by your mistakes,
as long as you acknowledge them as such.

The Lesson of Addiction

What was stated above is offered with the full
understanding that it could cause you to deduce that The All
Powerful destined you to become addicted merely to teach you a
lesson. But if you believe God is the author of addiction in your
life and therefore the r e a s o n f o r your suffering, you
are mistaken. Furthermore, if you even suspect such to be the
case, you don’t clearly understand the difference between your
own mistakes and God's Perfect Plan.

The truth is that your own choices ensnared you in the

pit of addiction. The thoughtless momentary pleasure was the bait.

Getting h i g h b e c a m e more

important to you than anything else. Your lust for

pleasure turned into a substance abuse disorder not

because there was a Divine Plan for you to be tested,

but because of your own greed.

The Creator blessed you with the ability to

gain strength from the disillusionment, loss, and

torment addiction caused in your life.

Therefore, instead of wondering whether God is

responsible for your encounter with addiction,

remember the choices you made. And if you really

want to pinpoint what caused your addiction, just consider

the following questions: Did your intellect reason that

the emptiness in your soul could be filled with

chemical pleasure? Did your mind seek

chemical satisfaction as a substitute for

spiritual fulfillment, only to find that getting high

enlarged the emptiness and “hooked” you?

Did you love God with “all your heart, all your soul, and your
entire mind,” as you should? Or did you enjoy the satisfaction of
pleasing your greedy self above your life, God's Plan, a nd a ll
else? From which cup did you drink?

These teachings place particular emphasis on the consequences

of your own behavior so you may see that flaws in your character
caused your addiction. Caving in too often to your carnal desires
caused you to become enslaved by your own lusts. No, your
addiction was not ordained by God.

16

But by God's Grace, addiction could be the catalyst for your

transformation. You have been chosen. The fact that you received
these words confirms your selection.

You, Chosen One, must now choose to take full responsibility

for your addiction and give all thanks to The Creator for your

selection. Idolatry

Addiction is modern day idolatry – not the idolatry of bending
knees and worshiping graven images, but of honoring the
creation above The Creator. Given that, you seekers who
fell into addiction are not alone. People all over the world have,

to some degree, adopted this brazen form of idolization, deifying

totems, not of gold, silver, bronze, stone, or wood, but
fetishes of powder, crystals, liquids, smoke, vapors, and
molten images on the alluring screen. Compulsively
yielding to carnal desires is the contemporary version
of worshiping the golden calf.

As stated earlier, soothing the mind by pleasing the flesh
is not always wrong. But when one surrenders to self-
indulgence so entirely or gorges on pleasure so often that
damage is done to one’s own health or the well-being of
others is threatened, or when physical satisfaction is too dearly
cherished or too often served, or when the pursuit of it
overrules common sense or dominates the will, or when it is
revered above God, consider it idolatry. Capitulating to the
dominance of the flesh is therefore wrong.

17

Sacred Journey

This is a sacred journey that will require you to connect
with the Higher Power. It is a Divine Mission because you will
be expected to live your life from henceforth not as your desires
would force you, but in the way that God will guide you. Every
day of the pilgrimage should be passed in communion with
God, feeling God, knowing God, seeing God everywhere, in
everything, and in all your brothers and sisters.

This journey will require you to forge the deepest pits of
greed to reach the highest peaks of self-control. Without a
single moment of relapse, you will have to demonstrate the
fortitude to do what you know is right in the face of screaming
desire to do what you know is wrong. The journey will require
a non-stop race for freedom while enduring physical pain and
mental distress.

Some of you on this journey who are the sincerest seekers may
lag behind others who start out with you. But forge ahead with
confidence, Chosen One, for freedom will blossom in your life
in due season.

With even greater certainty, those of you who are “bottomed
out,” fed up with addiction, and to who seeking Oneness with
God has become your most important aspiration, can rest
assured that your recovery will be swift. After which you will be
anointed to help other addicts gain freedom. Indeed you have
embarked on a sacred journey.

18

Of course, the purpose of this work is to emphasize the
importance of freedom to all who have been chosen. And if these
instructions cause a surge of Divine Love to stream forth into
your heart, receive the joy you feel as evidence that you are
a perfect selection for this mission.

Be always mindful of your great destiny. Know that you
have a great purpose. Remember always that you did not
receive these words by accident; they were drawn into your life to
help you fulfill your sacred mission. These lessons are a gift
of love, and your possession of them m e a n s that you are
worthy of selection for this journey. This Divine Gift will free you
and through you free others whom you are predestined to help.

Fear

There is no need to fear addiction. Don't cower to this intruder.
Instead, turn your concerns wholly over to The Great Spirit.
Through prayer and meditation, you will find courage. Fear
gives power to addiction where it should have none. Understand that its

only hold on you is your own grip. Let it go, and it will be gone.

Even more, Chosen One, you should wield bravery as a
weapon and fight with confidence ; because you cannot fail in this
mission if you earnestly put your trust in Yahweh. God
cannot make a wrong choice. Therefore, you would not have
been chosen if you were not prepared, strong enough, and

fully capable of taking dominion and control over your life.
Know this to be so!

CHAPTER 2

DIVINE LOVE

LOVE IS THE VERY ESSENCE OF DIVINITY.
So, Divine Love is God's Love for you and your Love for God. By your love
for God, you will know God. The most fantastic demonstration of God's
Love is the creation and continued existence of the universe. Your being a
part of it is confirmation of God’s Love for you.

Divine Love is the redeeming quality of your nature; it is
your sustenance, sanctuary, and salvation. It is not just a spiritual
concept; it is visible, real, in everything, everybody and
everywhere. Yet it is immeasurable, unquantifiable, with no
beginning and no end.

Divine Love is omnipresent throughout creation. It is the
energy force that joins atoms together to make molecules,

21

connects molecules to each other to create matter, and bonds gases
and elements together to make stars. Divine Love draws the
dust particles of the cosmos to each other to make planets
and causes planets to orbit and circle stars to create solar systems.

Divine Love binds solar systems in groups numbering billions
and trillions to form galaxies. Divine love is the force that
draws every particle in the universe to every other particle
to unify all of creation into Oneness. So there is a dimension
of Divine Love within your soul, a plane of spiritual reality
where the Spiritual You abides in blissful union with The
Creator. Selfless, unconditional, and impersonal, Divine Love is
the highest form of love, for it is an eternal glow of
love streaming forth from The Creator, directing its energy
throughout the universe.

So when you express Love for Our Creator, the
most powerful burst of positive energy possible gushes forth
from your heart, reverberates through your spirit and

advances the evolution of your soul.

On the earthly plane, Divine Love is the force that causes a
man and a woman to cleave to each other to form the nucleus of
the family; it is the life force that you observe when you marvel at
how the infant and its mother cling to each other in loving Oneness.

Without Divine Love, there would be chaos and cataclysm –

no purpose, no plan. The embrace of Divine Love establishes

order in the universe. As for what scientists know about this

attracting action, every credible scientific mind since Sir Isaac

Newton initially published his Theory of Universal

Gravitation, (including Albert 22

Einstein and Stephen Hawking) unanimously agrees that an
omnipresent attracting force exists. They call it gravity.

Like Newton, however, today’s scientists are still unable to
pinpoint its origin. So the source of this infinite force can only be
explained as supernatural. But this Law of Attraction
is just one aspect of Divine Love. On a spiritual level,
we could not exist without Divine Love. Divine Love brought
us into being, and the constant expressions of The Creator’s Love
for mankind can be witnessed in the countless cosmic miracles that
precisely balance so the universe can sustain human life.
Divine Love is at the center of everything that has ever been,
and it streams forth from everything that is.

This creative power is ingrained in all of us, unifying humanity
with the Divine Spirit. Feeling love for
Our Creator is the purest expression of your character. Therefore,
fulfilling your purpose will call for you t o align yourself with the Higher
Power and allow Divine Love to flow from your soul into your mind,
through your biological body, and into the world. When Divine Love
enters your heart, addiction will exit your life!

The clear evidence of God’s L ove f or you is t he miraculous
manifestation of your existence in time and space. Every atom
and every event in the universe is coordinated and precisely timed
by Divine Love so you can exist in the cosmic order.

Thus, with Divine Love, Our Creator delicately formed Mother
Earth as the perfect place for mankind to live. Even now, The Creator’s
Love maintains the precise range of temperatures to support your life.

23

DIVINE LOVE

The Creator’s love sustains the right amount of water in its liquid
form for life to thrive. The Creator’s Love miraculously maintains
an invisible shield around the Earth which deflects away radiation
and protects life from deadly cosmic rays. Earth’s magnetic shield
is indeed indisputable proof of Our Creator’s Love for us at work.

To further bestow the blessings of Divine Love on mankind,
The Almighty exalted humanity with dominion over the Earth – the
jewel of the universe. And because it is without beginning or end,
Divine Love confers upon humankind the gift of immortality.

All of these combined miracles reveal t h a t a
universe of Divine Love surrounds humankind, protects
us and nurtures us through the eternal presence of Our
Creator. God is Love. The Creator loves every one of us, and
those who love God in return will experience Perfect Freedom.

In all of Heaven and earth, there is no force
mightier than Divine Love. The purpose and reason for
mankind's existence is our exceptional ability to feel,
experience, and express the full joy of Divine Love.

Chosen One, your ability to receive and feel the
awesome power of Divine Love will give you greater joy than
could any chemical high. This means that you can experience
heavenly fulfillment whenever you want just by feeling love for God.

By loving Our Creator with all your being, you will be a
fountain of Divine Love, your greatest possible
achievement. Be mindful of your exalted destiny. And never
forget that you are blessed by The Higher Power and nurtured
with Divine Love. The spiritual joy

24

of freedom is ordained by The Higher Power as eternal fulfillment
for you. So, pass it on. Let nothing stop you from radiating
Divine Love in your every idea, expression and deed.

Now some who received these words have not been able
to understand how it could be possible to give “all” your love to
God because of the overwhelming emotional love that they
feel for living beings in their lives. They wonder “how could
there be love left for the people they love if they gave all their love
to God?”They ask, “If I love my mother, my father, and my
brothers and sisters, how can I at the same time love God with
“all”?

This seems to be a contradiction – a paradox. But do not
despair. You can resolve this apparent paradox by loving The Higher
Power in your loved ones, not their personalities. Love the God in
the ones you love. In this way, you devote all your love to God
by Loving the Great Spirit in your loved ones.

Divine Love does not seek to discourage or prevent emotional
love; instead, it is the source or fountainhead from which this
universal energy streams forth. Divine Love eases the demanding

nature of affectionate love into unconditional love; it transforms

the primal passions and impulses of romantic love into rapture
unimaginable to those who have never experienced spiritual
ecstasy.

Now, if your emotional love for people (or even pets)

seems important to you, enjoy it to satiation or until its

temporary nature manifests, as it eventually will, causing you

heartache from abandonment, shame, jealousy, or grief. To find

relief from this 25

pain, you will need to go deep within and be healed by the
Divine Love for which your spirit yearns.

Yet, realize that because emotional love also comes from God,
it is an essential, instrumental phase of spiritual advancement. From
the happiness, pride, delusions, grief, and pain of emotional
love, your soul is made to hunger for Divine Love. Emotional love
paves the way for you to find the God in your loved ones,
enhancing your ability to Love God with your entire being.

Love your mother and your father. Love your children.
Love your spouse. Love your family. Love your sister and your
brother. But the way to love them unconditionally and eternally
is to love the God in them. Love the God in all people as you love
God within yourself! Open your heart and allow Divine Love to
stream forth to all humankind. Yet, love humanity even then as
you would love a leaf compared to the tree from which it grew,
or as you would love a drop of water within the ocean of which
it is a part. For Divine Love – the source of all Love – is exalted,
everlasting, and infinitely greater than could ever be the love of
one mortal for another.

Expressing Divine Love

Mankind has advanced to a stage where the positive
soul quality of love naturally blossoms in human hearts as the
joyful flower head of close human bonds. Consequently,
when you speak the words “I love you” to one with whom
you share emotional love, intense vibrations of positive energy
resonate in

26

that person’s heart. When their ears hear those three words, the sound

stimulates the release of chemicals in the brain that pass on your love.

By voicing such love to your loved ones, you also direct a
wave of positive vibrations inwards, producing harmonious heart
rhythms, cardiovascular efficiency, nervous system balance, and
mental calm in your own body. “Expressed love” therefore elevates
the mental, emotional and biological state of the one who is loved
as well as the one who loves.

On a higher level, speaking Love for God directly to God exalts
the positive vibrations of the words “I love you” so that Divine
Love sensations resonate deep within the speaker’s soul, producing
the highest possible spiritual fulfillment.

Proclaiming your love for God is the way to fill your
consciousness with heartfelt joy. Thus, when you regularly
express Divine Love, spiritual bliss will overshadow your lower
desires, bringing your personality under complete governance of
The Higher Power.

Besides arousing the real love-nature of the soul,
expressing Divine Love sharpens the awareness of Oneness and
awakens the supreme desire for Perfect Freedom. Share your
love for God with the world and let Divine Love stream forth
so that in God’s Likeness you will love all mankind. The
guaranteed outcome from your expressions of Divine Love
will be an awakening (rebirthing) of the Higher Power within you.

Our goal in this work is to assure you that Divine Love will
release you from the grip of any addiction. So, as these instructions

27

spark the flame of freedom to glow within your heart, take it as
a positive reaction to God’s Call for you to join in this sacred journey.

Again, remember that you would not have been selected if
you were not ready to embrace these spiritual truths. So, open
your heart and prepare to celebrate the joy of emancipation. Feel
the joy of your love for The Creator and be liberated forever. By
regaining your freedom, the deepest yearnings of your soul will
be fulfilled.

Be joyfully aware of the perfection of Divine Love in you,
and uphold your duty to live in the light of Divine Love. Let
your awareness be lifted up to The Creator’s Purpose for you.
Consciousness of The Creator’s Eternal Love in all things will shield
and protect you during the periods of your greatest tribulation.

Know that you are living in God when you feel God's Love,
and you can rest assured that God is present in you when you
express love for God. Proudly swagger Divine Love as a
nurturing and protecting shield. Never forget that you were
chosen to be freed from addiction because of God’s
unconditional, everlasting love for you.

Yes, the march to freedom from life’s many addictions is a
passage of Divine Love, a journey that will bring you into
complete harmony with the natural rhythm of God’s Universe.

Confirmation

While the wisdom of these teachings may seem challenging,
it is not beyond your soul’s grasp. If your spirit is stirring from
these words, let this serve as confirmation that you have been

28

chosen. And know that there is a higher, exalted form of Love
ready to express rapture in your life more joyous than your mind is
now capable of comprehending.

The more you seek to become an expression of Divine Love in
the world, the more dynamically the power of Divine Love will be
expressed in you and through you, freeing you of everything that
would hold you back from your purpose.

So, those of you who are addicted and who are sick and tired
of living with addiction and seeing your brothers and sisters
suffer, and to whom seeking to know and achieve your purpose
has become your overriding aspiration, your liberation will be
swift.

Your selection has been validated, and your commitment to
this mission proves you have a right to be free. But freedom is a
destiny of choice. You seekers who choose to equip yourselves

with these teachings will be liberated, and you will become beacons of
Divine Love.

So let the joy of Divine Love be transformed into
fulfillment for you. And when you have made your way
to everlasting freedom from chemical addiction, you will be
able to enter the next phase of your mission by helping
others who are also thirsting for liberty. Therefore, your
success in the worldwide struggle to defeat addiction
requires that you strive unceasingly to fill your consciousness
with Divine Love until you become a perfect and selfless agent of
The Creator’s will.

29

DIVINE LOVE

Let this confirmation of your destiny awaken in you a clear
awareness of the joyful emancipation that awaits you. And
let this verification of your calling inspire you to commit yourself
to become a measure of Divine Will on earth in all that you
think, speak, and do. This is the Divine Order.

No Room for Addiction

An intoxicated mind is a breeding ground for addiction. On
the other hand, a consciousness filled with Divine Love leaves
no room for the desire to get high. This is because the blissful
joy of love for The Creator not only stamps out addiction, but it
also produces rebirth. Indeed, the mere presence of Divine Love
will abolish addiction just as certainly as the morning sunrise will
obliterate the darkness of the night.

Therefore, it would be foolish to allow carnal lust to define
who you are. Embrace freedom from chemical addiction by
loving God more than you love the desire to get high – more
than anything. By so loving God you will become a vessel worthy of
freedom, and you will achieve the blissful, heavenly state of
liberty that you truly deserve.

Deliberate for a moment on the distinction between emotional
love and Divine Love as they relate to recovery. Do so because
it is vital for you to realize that although emotional love for a
mortal personality is a natural expression from the heart,
passions and desires can still rule your life in the presence of
such feelings. Thus, emotional love not only coexists
with addiction but often enables

30

it. For example, addicts often manipulate the ones they love
and who love them most into sad accomplices of codependency
to support their own bondage.

On the other hand, such destructive control patterns cannot
exist in a mind that is overflowing with Divine Love. When you love
God with all your heart, mind, and soul, Divine Love will demolish
the mutually dependent foundations of addictive behavior.

Open up your heart and celebrate the joyful bliss of Divine
Love. Feel the joy of your love for The Creator and be liberated
forever. By achieving real spiritual satisfaction, the yearnings of
your soul will be fulfilled. Be joyfully aware of the perfection of
The Great Spirit in you and uphold your duty to live in the Love of
The Creator. Let your heart, mind, and soul be consumed by the
awareness of Divine Love. And know that the mere consciousness
of The Creator’s all-powerful love for you and your devout love for
The Creator will terminate forever your desire to get high.

Know that the might of Divine Love is ready to gush forth
from your heart, and be confident that The Creator’s Love for
you is surrounding you, filling you, and nourishing you. This
joyful consciousness of the presence of Divine Love will
heal you completely. Receive Divine Love as the
inalienable, unbreakable bond between you and Your Creator.

You were chosen because of God’s Love for you. Be a vessel for
Divine Love and let it flow into the world through you and you will
become one in purpose with The Higher Power.

Now embrace the Divine Love exercise on page 147.

32

CHAPTER 3

PERFECT FREEDOM

PERFECT FREEDOM IS THE LIBERTY TO FULFILL
your purpose. It is the guaranteed outcome of
sincere devotion to God. As it regards addiction,
Perfect Freedom is the foundation upon which a
complete recovery is built.

Perfect Freedom is the uninhibited liberty to express Divine
Love without hindrance from within or without. This optimum
state of spiritual empowerment can only be achieved by
the measure that you allow your thoughts, words, and
actions to be guided, influenced and inspired by Divine
Love. It is not God's love's love for you that liberates you; it is
feeling love for God that sets you free.

From the trials and tribulations experienced in life, one
learns that abiding in the light of Divine Love is the only
real freedom. If you have not y3e3t learned this lesson and are one

who refuses to open your heart to Divine Love, or one who insists
on loving self and worldly things more than God, or one who
stubbornly resists accepting the wonderful gift of Divine Love,
you will have to learn through much misery and suffering that such
self-centeredness and greed will lead not to happiness but to pain
and sorrow, and ultimate destruction.

But you who read these words have been chosen, and such a
sad state is not a fate about which you can do nothing. Yet, it is a
fate that will inevitably come to pass if you do nothing about
it. For once you experience the spiritual ecstasy that lies deep
within your soul, you will realize that the achievement of the
Heavenly state of Perfect Freedom is within your grasp. You will
then strive even harder to conquer the passions and desires of
your selfish personality. These words will inspire the Spiritual
You to shake off the earthly shackles that have been holding
you back from the destiny of your unconquerable soul.

This means that every addicted person who embraces the
power of Divine Love will find Perfect Freedom not only in this
world but also in the next. By doing so, you will be endowed with
the ability to end the suffering that afflicts every soul seduced by
the earthly illusions which lead to addiction.

To achieve Perfect Freedom, you must eliminate any and
all constraints that would keep you from exalting in The
Creator’s Love for you. It is equally essential that you
bring into reality all the conditions necessary for you to freely
express your love for God. Perfect Freedom is thus seen as the
highest

34

embodiment of mankind’s ability to receive love from God and
express Love for God in return.

Exercising spiritual mastery over self means giving full and
complete liberty to your Divine Nature. This power to fulfill
the purpose for which you were created enables you to live
in harmonious compliance with God’s Plan.

Perfect Freedom makes it possible for you to love and serve
God with all your heart, mind and soul. But you will never be able
to achieve such a harmonious state of Divine Purpose as long as
your mind is dazzled and deceived by the fallacies and illusions of
your personality, which, in this context, refers to all your earthly,
individual characteristics.

You are a spirit experiencing a thinking, feeling, and emotional
human journey through the material (manifest) world. You see,
hear, feel, and affect the physical world through your personality.
The world experiences you through your personality. Your
earthly deeds are carried out by your personality, which is
composed of your mind, your intellect, your emotions, and your
flesh.

Yes, your personality represents the Spiritual You in the material
world, but your personality is not "You." Your reflection in the
mirror is not you. Your desires are not you. Your emotions energize you,
but they are not you. Your intellect informs you, but it is not
you. Yes, all your thoughts, words, and actions are influenced by the
distinct aspects of your personality, but they are not you. Your personality and

its various aspects are temporary; the Spiritual You is eternal.

35

Your mind is your instrument for supporting and assisting
you with advancing God's Plan in the material world. For those
of you who are addicted, however, essential instinctive and
intellectual functions of your mind have been overpowered by
the carnal desires of your flesh. This reversal of the Divine
Order should be corrected immediately, or else your role in life
will be relegated to that of a helpless rider -- like a jockey
saddled to a runaway stallion.

Every occurrence in your earthly life is tied to your thoughts,
desires, and feelings -- the primary characteristics of your
personality. This unity of self is embodied in your biological,
psychological and emotional make-up. Even so, you must not
surrender control over your life to your personality. Instead,
achieve Perfect Freedom by firmly establishing a harmonious chain
of command, linking The Divine, the Spirit, the soul, the mind, the
emotions, and the flesh (in that order).

Perfect Freedom is the establishment of this harmonious
alignment between all the features of your being. Fulfilling your
purpose requires you to know that God loves you and for you
to love God with all your being.

The Spiritual You understands that it is time to get about thetask of
fulfilling yourpurpose.Thisis your Mission. Make a choice. You can
do one of two things: Awaken to master your own destiny, or submit
to addiction and allow your desires to seal your fate.

You cannot defeat addiction until you know it. The most important
things for you to know then are addiction's inclination for ruining
and shaming you and its capacity for destroying and killing you.
