THE SPRING FEASTS SUMMARY And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: the feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.” Leviticus 23:1-2 The Spring Feasts consist of four festivals: Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Firstfruits and Pentecost (The Feast of Weeks). These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor God for who He is and for what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan for humankind and how He powerfully intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God, Himself will be with them and be their God.” PASSOVER Passover begins at sundown, April 5 th through sundown, April 6th . This feast celebrates the Israelites’ deliverance from Egypt through Moses and humanity’s deliverance from sin and death through Jesus Christ. Passover is observed through the Passover Seder Meal. The Passover Seder Meal is a family gathering established by God to celebrate the liberation of Israel from Egyptian captivity and humanity’s redemption from sin and death. It is a celebration meal to be shared by family members and friends. The Church Family Seder Meal will be held on Wednesday, April 5 th in your home at 7:00 p.m. using the Home Seder Guide. Things You Need to Know Passover begins at sundown, April 5th and ends at sundown, April 6 th . The Church Family Seder Meal will be held in your home on Wednesday, April 5 th at 7:00 p.m. For further information, go online @ www.kingdombuilders.com. THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Exodus 12:14-20 and Leviticus 23:5-8 explains the origin and purpose of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the day after Passover and continues for seven days (sundown, April 6 th– sundown, April 13th). The observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a symbol of our commitment to turn toward righteousness and turn away from sin. During this week-long feast, nothing with leaven in it may be eaten. Abstaining from leavened bread for seven days is symbolic of God’s people separating themselves from sin and turning towards a holy relationship with the Lord. The Lord requires us to clean our homes of any food products that contain leaven, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate. Foods with leaven include breads, cereals, cakes, pies, crackers, and soups. Read the labels on all of your foods, especially in the pantry and freezer. A list of foods containing leaven is listed on pages 10. Things You Need to Know The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins at sundown, April 6th and ends at sundown, April 13th. During this month, begin to clear your home of food products containing leaven. The only bread to be eaten during this Feast is matzah or bread without yeast. All believers are to bring a sacrificial offering each day beginning sundown, April 6 th through sundown, April 13 th. You may bring your offering to The KBC dropbox, use the mobile app, give online, text: GIVE & your dollar amount to 713-322-7711 or mail to: 5

WVUMC Attention: Claudia Stubblefield 6011 West Orem Drive Houston, Texas 77085 www.kingdombuilders.com Please note: These offerings are not your tithe. They are separate and in addition to your tithe. The Feast of Unleavened Bread Worship Celebration will be held Thursday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. THE FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS The word firstfruits means “a promise to come.” On the day of Firstfruits, the Church Family will bring a special offering to the Lord. This offering will represent the firstfruits of any financial income since the Feast of Tabernacles which was held (October 2022). In Leviticus 23:9-14, the first crops of the barley harvest were offered to God as an offering of thanksgiving for the promise of an abundant harvest. This offering, lifted up to the Lord, is called the early firstfruits. In I Corinthians 15:23, Jesus is considered the firstfruit of the harvest of all who have died in him. This Feast was fulfilled when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. For Christians, this feast is important because it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Things You Need to Know The Feast of Firstfruits begins at sundown, April 8th and ends at sundown, April 9 th. Prepare to offer to the Lord a Firstfruit offering on Sunday, April 9 th. You may bring your offering to The KBC dropbox, use the mobile app, give online, text: GIVE & your dollar amount to 713-322- 7711 or mail. You determine the amount of this special offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for providing the “early” spring harvest. The “latter” spring harvest will occur during Pentecost. The firstfruit offering is not your tithe. It is separate and in addition to your tithe. THE FEAST OF PENTECOST The Feast of Pentecost celebrates the giving of the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament and the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. This feast is to be filled with joy and thanksgiving for God’s bountiful blessings of the harvest. During the celebration of Pentecost, believers will bring the firstfruits of any financial income since the Passover. This offering is called the latter firstfruit offering and symbolizes our thanksgiving to God for providing the “latter” spring harvest. The Church Family will offer its latter firstfruits at the Pentecost Worship Celebration, Sunday, May 28th, 2023. Things You Need to Know • Pentecost begins sundown, May 27 th and ends at sundown, May 28 th . • The Pentecost Worship Celebration will be held Sunday, May 28th at 9:30 a.m., at the KBC. The Church Family will offer its latter firstfruits during this special service. • Prepare to offer your latter firstfruit offering on Sunday, May 28th at the Pentecost Worship Celebration. This is a special offering from any financial income since the Passover Festivals. If you are unable to meet God’s appointed time, you may bring your offering to The KBC dropbox, use the mobile app, give online, text: GIVE & your dollar amount to 713-322-7711 or mail. 6

OF R “God’s Holy Days” As our Church Family prepares to celebrate the Spring Feasts, consider scheduling the following days off from work. In Leviticus 23, God instructs the Israelites to “do no customary work” on specific days associated with the feasts because He considers them Holy Days. The general interpretation of “no customary work” is taking the day off from your job or any activity that contributes to your income. Any work that is done in preparation for the feast is acceptable. The Lord understands if you have to work, but if you can, take the day off to enjoy the Lord and your family. Remember all Holy days begin at sundown the evening before the calendar day listed. • Passover begins at sundown, April 5 through sundown, April 6th. • The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the day after Passover and continues for seven days (sundown, April 6th– sundown, April 13th). • The Feast of Firstfruits begins at sundown, April 8th and ends at sundown, April 9th. • The Pentecost begins sundown, May 27th and ends at sundown, May 28th. GUIDELINES FOR CELEBRATING THE SPRING FEASTS Preparing for the Passover The Passover Seder Meal is a family gathering established by God to celebrate the liberation of Israel from Egyptian captivity and humanity’s redemption from sin and death through Jesus Christ. It is a celebration meal to be shared by family members and friends. The Church Family Seder Meal will be on Thursday, April 6 th at 7:00 p.m. in your home using the Home Seder Guide while viewing on our social media sites. Preparing for the Feast of the Unleavened Bread The observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread offers us an intentional time to “spring clean” our lives. Explain to your friends and family that as we celebrate Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, we ask God for the power to choose a life not dominated by sin and live in the freedom found in obedience to His Kingdom ways. LET’S GET THE LEAVEN OUT! You may eat leavened products until sundown, Thursday April 6th, 2022. However, please begin to remove them from your home (by eating or discarding them), now through sundown, Thursday, April 6th. On Thursday, April 6th, conduct a final inspection of your home for any leavened products. Traditionally, the head of the household does this final inspection. By sundown on the evening of April 6th, all leavened products should absolutely be out of your home and not eaten for the next seven (7) days. You may begin to purchase and consume them again after sundown on April 13th. I. What is Leaven? Leaven is yeast or any “fermenting” substance used to make dough or other foods rise or sour. Some yeast derivatives are added to foods for flavor or nutritional purposes. The rules of leavening also apply to foods prepared from five types of grain: barley, wheat, rye, oats and spelt. Removing food products that contain leaven (yeast, baking soda, baking powder, sodium bicarbonate, autolyzed yeast, & yeast extract) has its roots in ancient Passover preparation. Thirty days before the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread, the women of every household began removing all leaven (known as “chametz” in Hebrew) from their homes. Removing leaven is a spiritual as well as a physical cleansing. Jesus spoke of leaven as a symbol of sin in the gospels (i.e., Luke 12:1), and the apostle Paul did likewise in I Corinthians 5:6-8. II. Instructions for Removing Leavened Food Products Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you. No manner of work shall be done on them; but that which everyone must eat-- that only may be prepared by you. So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore, you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land. You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread. Exodus 12: 15-19 (NKJV) The Lord requires us to clean our homes of any food products that contain any kind of leaven: yeast, baking powder, baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, autolyzed yeast, or yeast extract. Also, traditionally most foods that contain wheat, barley, rye, oats, or spelt, except for matzah, are refrained 8

from during Passover, as they are often processed in mills where leaven is present. Foods with leaven include most breads, cereals, cakes, pies, crackers, and soups. Read the labels on all of your foods, especially in the pantry and freezer. You may be surprised about the foods that contain leaven. It is easy to identify packaged foods that are usable during the Feast of Unleavened Bread by looking for product packages bearing one of these symbols: or “OU Kosher for Passover. Here is a suggested leavening removal guide. Try to eat these foods during this removal time period: March 13th – March 20th: All foods containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains. March 21st – March 28th: All canned goods containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains. March 29th – April 3rd: All cereal products containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains. March 25th – March 31st: All bread, crackers, and pastry products containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains. April 1st – April 5th: All seasonings, sauces, and condiments containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains. Sundown, April 6th: All leavened products should be out of the home. The general idea is to symbolize a purified life in Jesus by “eating clean” for the 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This diet is also a healthier way to eat. III. Here are some examples of foods to keep in your home: All fresh fruits, vegetables, 100% fruit juices, milk, eggs, unflavored nuts, peas, beans, rice, quinoa, matzah, good quality meats, and packaged foods with the or “OU Kosher for Passover” symbols. Most major grocery stores in the Houston area now have a Kosher food section. Example of Kosher for Passover product labels: Warning: While many items marked Parve or Pareve (meaning “neutral”) may be kosher for Passover, not all items are. Please read the package label and ingredients carefully. 9

Here are some examples of items you should remove from your home. Accent ® Seasoning Alcoholic beverages Baker’s yeast Bakery products (i.e. bagels, donuts, cookies, cakes) Bread of all kinds Breaded fish/chicken/meat Brewer’s yeast Most catsup. Read the label! Cheeses & Processed Cheese Spread All Crackers (Saltine, Wheat Thins, etc) Doritos & flavored chips Aged and fermented products Wheat Flour, all kinds Bottled water with minerals (it contains Sodium Bicarbonate) Lipton® Noodles and Sauce Malted/barley products Pasta products Pizza Pretzels Pringles® Ramen noodles Some sausage contains grain fillers and/or yeast derivatives. Soy sauce Stuffing mix All cereal products (that contain oats, wheat, barley, rye, or spelt.) Some smoked and cured meats. Please read the label. Some curing and artificial smoking processes use yeast extract! Again, if in doubt, ask the following questions: 1. Does this food or drink contain any leavening agents? Yeast or yeast derivatives? Baking soda or baking powder? Was yeast (or any other leavening agent) involved in the process of making this food? NOTE: ALL fermented foods/drinks are NOT allowable during Passover, except that which is specifically labeled as kosher for Passover. 2. Does this food or drink contain any wheat (except matzah or matzah products), barley, rye, oats, or spelt? If the answer to either of these questions is "yes," then that food is NOT allowable during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. 10

Preparing for the Feast of Firstfruits and Counting of the Omer I. Feast of Firstfruits On the day of Firstfruits, believers will bring the firstfruits of any financial increase received since the Feast of Tabernacles (October 2022). The firstfruit offering, called the early firstfruit, is not your tithe or regular offering. It is separate and in addition to your tithe. You determine the amount of this special offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for providing the “early” spring harvest. You may bring your offering to The KBC, use the mobile app, Connection Center Kiosk, give online or by mail. II. Counting the Omer The daily “counting of the omer” will begin on the evening of April 6th. (See: https://www.chabad.org/holidays/sefirah/omer-calendar_cdo/jewish/Omer-Calendar.htm). • See the Omer Calendar in the April Prayer guide. • After marking off the day, pray the following blessing with your children until the 50th day, “We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by Jesus Christ, our eternal Redeemer and Savior, and commanded us to count the Omer. By faith, we wait with joyful hearts to celebrate the sending of Your Holy Spirit.” • Remember to count the omer beginning at sundown, April 16th. Preparing for Pentecost (Feast of Weeks) III. Pentecost During the celebration of Pentecost, believers will bring the firstfruits of any income received since the Passover festivals. This offering is called the latter firstfruit offering. It is separate and in addition to your tithe. You determine the amount of this special offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for providing the “latter” spring harvest. On Sunday, at the May 28 th worship service, we will present our latter firstfruit offering to the Lord at our Pentecost Worship Celebration. This is a special offering from any financial income since the Passover Festivals. If you are unable to meet God’s appointed time, you may bring your offering to The KBC, use the mobile app, give online, text: GIVE & your dollar amount to 713-322-7711 or mail. IV. Pentecost Celebration Activities • It is tradition to eat dairy products during Pentecost because the law was compared to milk and honey. When the Israelites were awaiting the arrival of their new commandments and were unsure as to what their new dietary laws would be, they ate only dairy products and vegetables. Eating cheesecake and blintzes is a particular favorite during this feast. • Decorate your home with flowers and greenery, which represent the latter spring harvest and the Law as a “tree of life.” • Read the “Book of Acts” with your family. • Study Scriptures about the Holy Spirit. A few Scriptures are provided below. I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit!" Mark 1:8 NLT 12

The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35 NLT And the Holy Spirit descended on Him in the form of a dove. And a voice from heaven said, "You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with You." Luke 3:22 NLT "And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven." Luke 24:49 NLT Then He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:22 NLT John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." Acts 1:5 Pentecost Worship Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 28th. To God be the glory for the great and awesome things He has done. Thank God for our Helper, the Holy Spirit. God has extended a special invitation to all of His children. We look forward to seeing you at His parties. Expect with eager anticipation to experience more of God’s love, anointing, power, provision, authority and presence throughout the Spring Feast season. FASTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULTS I. What is a Fast? The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” The Greek word for fasting means “not to eat.” Simply put, fasting means to abstain from food. Fasting involves turning away from foods that the body craves in order for our spirit to concentrate on God in worship, service, and praise. Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord. The fast will consist of abstaining from food. In other words, you are fasting if you are not eating food. The primary method of fasting will be one (1) meal each day. Social Media/TV Options Fasting is an opportunity for Christians to practice the fruit of self-discipline by abstaining from personal pleasure to focus our entire attention on God. Therefore, during the Church Family Fast, you can also include abstaining from all forms of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap-Chat, etc. or you can choose the technical option by abstaining from watching shows on television, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu or online streaming. The focus is to go silent and keep all forms of social media and TV off throughout the fast. However, remember to choose either of these options or both only in addition to our primary method of fasting which is no food. II. Why Should We Fast? John Wesley, the original organizer of the Methodist Movement, fasted. In fact, he fasted twice a week. More importantly, Jesus Christ fasted! We fast as a Church Family because God’s blessings reside in our unity. This special time encourages us to be “like-minded, having the same love and being of one accord and of one mind” (Philippians 2:1-3). III. Who Should Fast? Prayerfully, each member will participate in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. Please consult your physician about your fasting if: (1) you are pregnant; (2) you are on prescribed medication; (3) you are under a doctor’s care; (4) you have experienced illness on a previous fast; (5) or, you do not normally eat anyway. YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THIS FAST! FOLLOW YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS!!! IV. Why Fast? The benefits include: 1. Having a closer relationship with God, our Father, who created us; 2. Focusing you on Jesus, the Supply, and Supplier of your benefits and blessings; 3. Becoming more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit; 4. Presenting the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; 5. Intensifying your prayer life; 6. Aiding in removing unbelief; 16

7. Breaking yokes of bondage; 8. Sharpening your intellect, skill, discernment, and understanding; 9. Aiding in clarity of spiritual hearing when guidance or a decision is needed from the Holy Spirit; 10. Hastening emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical healing for both individuals and the community; 11. Fostering personal discipline that will help to reduce impulsive fleshly urges that do not align with Scripture; and, 12.Demonstrating (to yourself) an act of scriptural obedience. V. How to Fast The primary method of fasting for the Church Family Spiritual Fast will be one (1) meal each day eaten after 6:00 p.m. Meals should be completed within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your mouth. Fasting Options include: 1. “Veterans” - Veterans are those members who have participated in the Church Family Spiritual Fast two or more times. 2. “First Round Draft Choices” - (First Rounders are those persons who have never fasted or have only participated in a Church Spiritual Fast one time.) First Rounders will eat two (2) meals per day, one at breakfast before 8:00 a.m. and one after 6:00 p.m. Be consistent; eat the breakfast meal at a routine hour. Complete your meals within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your mouth. Please pray the daily prayer topic during the time of the skipped meal (lunch meal) and during your regular prayer time for the day. 3. “Special Teams” consist of persons who are under a doctor’s care, pregnant, or unable to miss a meal for health reasons. Special Teams should eat regularly scheduled meals. Participation in the Church Family Spiritual Fast will consist of abstaining from foods such as sweets, carbonated beverages, bread, meats, or any food that you feel “you must have at least a little of every day.” It is important for the Church Family to be of one mind and heart. Please fast in accordance with the above-listed instructions. Fasts such as a “cleansing fast,” “grapefruit fast,” and others are not appropriate during this special time. VI. Requirements for Fasting 1. No nibbling! If you feel hungry (that’s expected and normal), drink water and pray. 2. No sweets (including sweeteners), chips, candy, chewing gum, soft drinks, or any other junk food should be eaten at any time during the fast by Veterans, First Rounders, or Special Teams. 3. If you experience headaches, fatigue or weakness, faint feelings, nausea, fever, and/or extreme hunger, eat a piece of fruit, slice of bread, crackers, or vegetables (preferably raw). Consult your physician if these feelings persist. 17

4. Water only! Please restrict your liquid intake to water. No sodas, juices, fruit juices, lemon water, or flavored water. If you are fasting no food, please drink at least 64oz – 80oz of water each day. Raw vegetable juices are permitted if you are fasting no food. 5. If you experience “blackouts” while exerting energy, please eat a light, nutritionally balanced meal. 6. If you are eating once a day, it is recommended that you do not exercise during the fast. 7. As I Corinthians 7:5 tells us, no lovemaking for married folk! (Single Christians are already abstaining.) Both spouses should agree to the fast as a sacrifice of consecration to the Lord. If one of the spouses is not in agreement with I Corinthians 7:5, then do not abstain. There must be an agreement between marital partners. 8. Individual prayer times for each day are 6:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. If your schedule does not allow for these hours, please adjust your schedule to include a morning prayer time and an evening prayer time. 9. If you “fall off” the fast, get back on. Do not allow the devil to condemn you. Ask your covenant partner (see Covenant Partnering on page ) for help. VII. What Are We Praying About During the Fast? This Power Guide contains the prayers that we will pray during the fast and Fall Feasts. Please pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic Calendar. VIII. How Can We Be a Blessing While Fasting? In Isaiah 58:6-2, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those in need. In addition to praying, you can bless others by using some of the money you would spend on eating out or buying groceries to provide food and clothing for others. See details on the Promise of Giving on page 21. IX. Schedule of Fast March 26th Fast Begins April 2nd Fast Ends X. CHURCH FAMILY VIRTUAL PRAYER All church members are asked to participate with prayer at 12:00 p.m. and/or 7:00 p.m. daily. Monday, March 27th through Saturday, April 1st, 2023, 12:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26th through Friday, March 31st, 2023, 7:00 p.m. Zoom ID: 831 8465 4871 Passcode: 06011 Dial-in: 1 346 248 7799 XII. 5. The Messianic Church Arising by Dr. Robert D. Heidler XIII. You Can Fast in Jesus’ name! While fasting, keep your countenance positive. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us not to “advertise our fasting.” Keep your fasting a secret. Be sensible and do your best. God does not smile upon “super fasters.” Expect God to be AWESOME and to do AWESOME things through you and the Church Family. God bless you! 19

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15). We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17). Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of our pastors. When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying and participating. Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. It will be a blessed experience for them and it will begin to lay a foundation for their future. Your support and encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s success. I. What is a Fast? The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord. II. Why Should Children and Youth Fast? • To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ; • To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit; • To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and • To build your prayer life. As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience and fasting. III. How to Fast • Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. • Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal. • Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc. • Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages. NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT DRINKS, OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS! V. What Are We Praying About During the Fast? Please help your child (ren) pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic Calendar. 20

COVENANT PARTNERING Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken.” It is highly recommended that you choose a Covenant Partner. This person will pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness. Choose someone who will walk with you throughout the duration of the fast. Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. As One, trust them to help and strengthen you and your Covenant Partner(s) during the Church Family Fast. Guidelines for Covenant Partnering · Guidelines for choosing Covenant Partners are as follows: • Married couples partner with married couples; • Single women partner with single women; and • Single men partner with single men. · Be sure to exchange telephone numbers or e-mail addresses. · During the fast, please communicate, pray, encourage, and hold each other accountable. THE PROMISE OF GIVING The Promise of Giving is designed to encourage giving while fasting. In Isaiah 58:6-12, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those who are in need, restoring broken relationships with family, and sharing with strangers. During this fast, you are encouraged to use some of the money that you would spend on groceries and eating out by providing for others. Church Family, for Spring Feasts this year, we are rallying around The KBC Kenya to provide coats and books for children and youth and funds to help with the center’s needs. CHOW TO USE YOUR KINGDOM BUILDERS’ POWER GUIDE Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the topics that we have asked of Him. I John 5:14-15 The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13). In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions. 1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s). Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing. 2. Refer to the Prayer Topics Calendar on page 23 for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.” 3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents please encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud. Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide. 4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day. If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord. 5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide. 6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for. 7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions located on page 55 in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. We also recommend that you speak the Power Confessions over your family. 8. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for our Church Family. God Bless You! WV Leadership Team 22

Prayer Topic #1: A Prayer for Women Scripture Reading: Psalm 97, Colossians 1:9-14 Reflections of the Heart: Women are God’s woven tapestry. God loves women so much that He sent His Son to earth through one. Created in His image, women are the strength and beauty of a society, whether single or married, may our lives be a daily reflection of His Glory! Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are our God and there is none other. We worship You in the splendor of Your Holiness. You are the true and living God to whom all honor and glory belongs. We thank You for creating us in Your image. We earnestly search for You; our souls thirst for You and our bodies long for You in this land where there is no water. Thank You for having good plans for our lives, to give us a future, and a hope and not plans for disaster. We declare our thanks and devotion to You for Your goodness and loving-kindness towards us. We will love You, Lord our strength. You are our Rock, our fortress and our savior. You are our God, our strength in whom we will trust. Thank You, Father, for blessing the women of our church and community. Lord, You created women to be the mothers of humanity. Today, we declare that the women of our church will not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but they will be transformed by the Holy Spirit to do what is good and pleasing and perfect in Your sight. We confess that our women will possess love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We declare that our wives will honor their husbands and submit themselves to God by loving their husbands. We confess that our single women will excel in their academic and professional careers and they will devote themselves to serving God. Our women are blessed and they shall flourish like palm trees and be as strong as the cedars of Lebanon. They are planted in the house of our God and they shall flourish in His courts. Our women will bear fruit in their old age and they shall be fresh and flourishing. They will declare that the Lord is just, He is their Rock, and there is no evil in Him. We declare that our mothers will direct their children onto the right path, and their children, when they are older, will not leave that path. We confess with holy boldness that our women, who are mothers, will give their children the Word of God, love and encouragement. Ask Holy Spirit how you can specifically pray for a woman in your life: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Father, we ask You to give each woman a complete knowledge of Your will along with spiritual wisdom and understanding. Please order their days so that their daily activities are balanced and fruitful. Make the crooked places in our families straight and perfect those things that concern them. Please help our singles and married women to live with all godliness and contentment, which is great gain. For those singles who desire a mate, help them to wait patiently on You. Knit the hearts of our married women closer together with their husbands and give them courage to live Your Word in every facet of their marriage. Father, please restore the broken places in those marriages that are struggling. Increase Your love and security in those marriages that are doing well. Father, we ask You to bless all the women of our Church Family. 25

Father, please forgive our women for not trusting You with their lives. Forgive them for quick tempers and a lack of patience. Forgive those who are mothers for not raising their children according to Your word. Forgive mothers for allowing the television, radio, video games, music, older siblings and activities to raise their children. Forgive mothers for saying negative words against their children’s father. Forgive both married and single women for not seeking help when feeling anxious, depressed, fretful, angry, and overwhelmed. Father, please forgive our women for all of their sins. Lord, remind us all to forgive; and help us to be quick to forgive. Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. Father, You laid the foundations of the earth and determined its dimensions. You keep the sea inside its boundaries and declared that the proud waves must stop and go no farther. You command the morning to appear and cause the dawn to rise in the east. You make daylight spread to the ends of the earth and bring an end to the night’s wickedness. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is Your name! In Jesus’ name, amen. Prayer Topic #2: A Spring Feasts Preparation Prayer Scripture Reading: Nehemiah 9:5-15, Exodus 12:1-20 Reflections of the Heart: As we prepare for the Spring Feasts, let us treasure the Lord’s appointed times, given to us. Let us pray with sincere gratitude and joyful expectation of more abundant life in Christ Jesus. All praises and glory be to God, our Heavenly Father, for His goodness and mercy toward us! Scriptural Prayer: Blessed Father, we thank You for including us in the promises You made to the children of Abraham. We marvel at Your great love and grace toward us. Thank You for the privilege to observe the festivals that You decreed as a permanent law. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for becoming the perfect sacrifice for our sins. You have caused all things to come together just as the Father planned. You are most deserving of our highest praise and adoration. Because of Your unfailing love, we can enter Your house. We will worship at Your Temple with deepest awe. Holy Father, as we gather together during this Spring Feasts season, it is our desire to prepare ourselves to meet with You at this consecrated time to celebrate the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of First Fruits, and the Feast of Pentecost. We will examine ourselves and confess our sins. We declare that we and our families will serve You alone. We will carefully examine our own homes and lives, and we vow to rid them of every unclean thing. We declare that we will remove all yeast from our homes as we prepare to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. As a Church Family, we will celebrate these holy feasts to honor You, Father God, bringing our voluntary offerings in proportion to the blessings we have received from You. These are the things I will do to prepare for the Spring Feasts: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Holy Spirit, give us Your divine instruction and guidance. Show us the portions of God’s Holy Word that teach us how to prepare for the Spring Feasts. Help us all to make thankfulness our sacrifice to God, and to keep the vows we have made to the Most High. Show us any hidden places of the heart that need to be cleansed of sin or idolatry. Lord, bless our families and draw us closer to You and to one another. May we always keep You and Your Kingdom first in all that we do. Father, meet with us as we celebrate the Spring Feasts to honor You. We are excited about spending this anointed time with You, and we expect to see Your glory manifest among us! Gracious Father, have mercy upon us forgive us for our stubborn reluctance and for clinging to our old traditions instead of following Your divine precepts. Forgive those who choose not to celebrate Your holy festivals or those who are unwilling to bring offerings to You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.) 27

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Eternal Father, there is no one like You, the God of Israel. You ride across the heavens to help us across the skies in majestic splendor. Praise be to Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords! We will remember the things You have done in the past, for You alone are God. You are God, and there is no one like You. In Jesus’ name, amen! Prayer Topic #3: A Prayer for People to Accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior Scripture Reading: Psalm 104:24-35, Matthew 16:24-26 Reflections of the Heart: “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 Scriptural Prayer: Magnificent Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You when You called us. Thank You for deciding in advance to adopt us into Your family by bringing us to You through the Lord Jesus. Lord, You are great. We will praise You, Lord, with all that we are and we will never forget the good things You have done for us. You are the One who forgives all our sins, heals us from diseases, redeems us from death, and crowns us with love and tender mercies. We honor You as our Lord and Savior. Your majestic name fills the earth. Your glory is higher than the heavens! Heavenly Father, we declare that Your Word, as it is spoken, will move swiftly through the earth and save the lost. We confess that as the Gospel is shared, Your Word will be operative in the lives of those persons who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord (Leader) and Savior (Forgiver). Father, they will know the Truth, and the Truth will set them free. List the people that you know who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Ask the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to witness to them. Trust Him to give you the courage to approach them and the words to say to them. ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Father God, since the harvest is plentiful, please send laborers to proclaim Your Word of salvation to those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Show them that their salvation comes from no one else, for You have given no other name under heaven by which they can be saved. Lord, as Your Word goes forth, touch the hearts of the unsaved to receive it. Holy Spirit, please give me the courage and boldness to witness to the unsaved. Help me to live in such a way that the light of Christ is seen in my private and public life. Holy Father, forgive the unsaved for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for living in disobedience, hatred, rebellion, idolatry, greed, racism, adultery, fornication, injustice, and violence. Please let Your mercy and grace abound towards them. Lord, forgive us as a Church Family for not sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.) Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. 29

Lord, You have already begun to show Your greatness and the strength of Your hand. Is there any god in heaven or on earth who can perform such great and mighty deeds as You do? We will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sins that so easily trips us up. We will run with endurance the race that You have set before us; keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Champion, who initiates and perfects our faith. We will seek Your Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, and trust that You will give us everything that we need. Father God, we know that You are not a man that You should lie, nor the son of man that You should repent. So, we will stand on Your Word and put all of our faith and confidence in You. As Kingdom citizens, our families will trust You with our finances, career choices, our relationship with internal and external family members and every other area of our lives. We confess that our works will reflect the faith that we have in You, Father. Mighty King, You are our banner and shield, our strength and protection. Lord Jesus, You are our Savior, our Redeemer and through You we are justified. Holy Spirit, You are our Advocate, our Helper and the source of our power. We reverence and honor You, the Triune God. Hallel YAH! Take a moment and reflect on God’s presence in your life. Prayer Topic #7: A Declaration of Financial Blessings Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 36:8-12, Malachi 3:1-10 Reflections of the Heart: “He who loses money, loses much. He who loses a friend, loses more. He who loses faith, loses all.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt Scriptural Prayer: Divine Father, we thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. We thank You for Your love for us that never ceases and Your mercy which never comes to an end. Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Thank You, Father, for being our strength, our shield, our provider and our Savior. You are great and You do wondrous things. You are God alone. Lord, You are in Your Holy temple; You are on Your heavenly throne. We exalt You, O God, and we bless Your name forever and ever. Glorious Father, as Kingdom citizens, it is Your will that we excel in the management of our finances. We recognize that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Therefore, we will earn, save, spend and invest money in obedience to Your perfect plan for our lives and our families. We will remember that it is You who gives us the power to get wealth so that the covenant which You swore to our fathers will be established. We confess that as we bring our tithes and offerings into Your house, You will pour out blessings that we will not have room to receive and You will rebuke the devourer for our sakes. Lord, because we will be faithful stewards of Your financial blessings, we expect You to confirm Your Word and make us rulers over abundant wealth.
