March 2023 Power Guide

March 2023 Power Guide

Prayer Topic #14: A Prayer for Our Governmental Leaders (local, state, and national) Scripture Reading: Psalm 105:1-8, Psalm 1 Reflections of the Heart: When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he was capable of accomplishing the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His perfect will here on earth through today’s political leaders. Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our political leaders will definitely benefit our city, state, and nation more than murmuring and complaining ever will. Pray for our local, state, and national political leaders so that we can live in peace. Scriptural Prayer: Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth. Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings. We are grateful, and we bless Your name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. We praise Your name, Father, forever and ever. You have all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light. Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state, and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. We pray for President Joe Biden, Governor Greg Abbott, and all state, and national leaders. We pray for Mayor Sylvester Turner, our city council members, and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our governmental leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state, and city. We declare that the decisions made by our leaders will be inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. We destroy the assignments of the devil and we silence the voice of every demonic force. Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national governmental leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes. Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry. Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead. Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. \We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing, and obedient to Your will. Cause each of their lives to glorify Your name. Loving Father, please forgive our local, state, and national governmental leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You daily. Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, fornication, homosexuality, perversion, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for making our political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do 51

not align their agendas with Yours. Forgive those politicians who say they are Christians, but conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word. Father, please have mercy on this nation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our local, state, and national governmental leaders of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.) Holy Spirit, help our local, state, and national governmental leaders not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come. You alone are God. You are subject to none, yet all are subject to You. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. In Jesus’ name, amen. Prayer Topic #15: A Declaration of Wholeness for Our Families Scripture Reading: Psalm 104:24-35, Ephesians 5:15-33, 6:1-4 Reflections of the Heart: Families come in a variety of sizes and dynamics. Whether you are single, a single parent, widowed, married with children or married without children; each family is an expression of God. Praise and thank God for your family. Scriptural Prayer: We thank You, Father, for forgiving our family members, for healing all our diseases, and for crowning us with Your lovingkindness and tender mercies. Thank You for blessing us generously with gifts and talents including compassion and emotional strength. Thank You for being our Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and Friend. Our souls bless You with all that is within us. We bless Your Holy name! We bless You and remember all Your benefits. Lord, the majesty of Your name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. Righteous Father, Your Word instructs that faith without works is dead, so we confess that our families will develop and demonstrate our Christian faith daily. We declare that in singlehood, marriage, separation, divorce, widowhood, and in every other stage of our lives, we are more than conquerors through Christ. We confess that as we submit to Your Word, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Lord, we decree that our belief systems and behavioral patterns reflect Your righteousness in our personal and professional lives, and the light of Jesus is reflected in our actions. Lord, we confess that Your favor surrounds us like a shield. Above all, our families will have victorious futures because Your plans for us are of hope, filled with good and not evil. Holy Spirit, as I pray for my family, I am praying specifically for: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Gracious Father, we ask You to bless our families with wholeness of our minds, bodies and souls. We ask that You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit, keep us aware that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil and help us earn, save, spend, give and invest money in obedience to Your perfect plan. Bless our finances so that we will lend and not borrow. Reveal to our families how to consistently eat nutritiously. Encourage us all to include daily exercise and activity that maintains physical well-being. Please give us the wisdom to develop healthy loving relationships in our homes and with extended family. Strengthen our hearts so that we all walk in holiness. Holy Spirit, forgive our families all acts of sinfulness including gossiping, lying, fornication, adultery, idolatry, profanity, deception, drunkenness, gluttony, drug abuse and all other sins which we have committed. Forgive us for rebellion and selfishness. Lord, please help us to forgive ourselves for past mistakes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed. Remind our families of those we need to forgive and help us all to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us all from the evil one. Now to You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased. We exalt You, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
