YEAR 4S

Mr White What an unusual year it’s been for us all. But whether
they were in-school learning or online, Year 4 did it
with a smile on their faces. These children are
superstars. They work hard, they play hard but most
importantly they look out for each other. 4S love
Topic class. We had some fantastic experiences on
our different topic journeys and I am predicting that
4S will produce some Brain surgeons, Electrical
engineers, Historians, Volcanologists, Seismologists
and Rainforest Researchers in ten years time!

Ms Connie

I liked it when the class built their own
robot. It was really fun when we built a
volcano. Reading the wild robot. It was
a really fun book. I wish I had known
about it sooner!

Adithya

My greatest memory is when we did the
drought experiment and went to the field
to find plants! Most people got grass but
Mabel and I got a flower! (Topic)

YEAR 5K

Well, what a year we have had! Even though we have spent only a
short amount of time in school together, due to remote learning, it
has been a wonderful year. The Year 5 students are incredible! They
have been so resilient, switching seamlessly between remote learning
and being in class. I am so proud of all they have achieved and they
should all be commended for their outstanding attitudes and efforts

towards their learning. It has been such a fun year of learning.

Ms Hitchen Ms Moana

NURTURING GLOBAL CITIZENS

FROM THE PTA

This school year has been extremely different and odd because of Covid-19 and the PTA has not been able
to do nearly as much as we have in years past. However, we had a fantastic multi-cultural team, who were
attentive and striving to help with what they could, given SOPs, CMCOs, MCOs and MCO 2.0 in the way.
While we did have drawbacks and last-minute cancelations of events, we were able to do some events in a
new ways!

International Day, which has always been a NKIUNRATBUARLINUG
hit in years past, had to take some TCIIOTINZEANL SSC
major changes this year and we could not
have had a successful week without the
help of everyone at KIS. Thank you! The
PTA had a successful auction, with plentiful
donations, all done for the very first time
online! We were able to create the first
ever KIS cookbook! Thank you to the
community for your participation in creating
this fun cookbook, filled with recipes from
across the globe and highlights some of the
artwork from our KIS kids. If you haven’t
had a chance, please pick one up to help
support our school.

Other events that the PTA were able to
help with this school year are Chinese New
Years, which turned out to be a lovely
online all school assembly and are
anticipating Staff Appreciation Day and
Wellness Week, which we hope will both be
huge successes.

The New Friends Team (NFT) did a
fantastic job at welcoming the new families
to KIS and KK. Thank you for going that
extra mile to meet new families with the challenges in the way. Also, thank you to the Primary and
Secondary CAs who have helped to keep the community together and be our main communicators when we
weren’t able to see each other in person.

FROM THE PTA

Thank you to the Story Sack ladies for their amazing creativity, even though you could only meet a few times
this school year, we hope that the group can get back together next term to continue their imaginative
work.

Teacher representatives have done a fantastic job for helping us stay upbeat and more fit (Ms. Watts).
Your energy and enthusiasm were contagious during our low MCO/ e-learning times and were much needed!

GINGTLEORBNAAL-
CHOOL

You have definitely made a difference! Thank you.

KIS has shown strength, resilience and passion for their school and community during these trying and
unprecedented times, and the PTA has been nothing less than inspired. Thank you to the staff, students,
parents and guardians for your generosity and persistence at keeping this community together.

With gratitude and appreciation
