EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hot Hot Corn is a company that produces popcorn with a variety of unique flavours. This
company is located in Kuala Lumpur. Usually, people can found and get popcorn at cinemas
center only but now they can get popcorn that has many flavours from us easily on our
shopping platforms. Hence, our company decided to produce popcorns for all the people who
love to eat popcorn caramel, popcorn salted egg, and popcorn chocolate. In addition, we came
out of this idea because when we are now often tending to watch movies at home on Netflix,
it must be a great idea to eat popcorn while watch the movies.
Moreover, selling popcorn was an exciting way of learning how to communicate value to
others. Not all business owner understands this, but to sell popcorn well, we need to know
our customer. Selling popcorn is a way for us to gain this sort of experience without the risk
that typically comes with starting a business. We had seen prior to the pandemic that as
people were spending more time in front of all of these devices, they were also consuming
more snack foods. Those types of what we call leisure activities when you’re scrolling through
your phone and browsing on the internet or watching a movie, if we’re doing more of those
things, we’re also eating more snacks while we were doing it. From this research, we take
decisions to produce popcorn products.
Hot Hot Corn will be operated in 5 days a week which is from Monday to Friday for 9 hours.
Our General Manager and Financial Executive is Nur Batrisyia Binti Mohd Arrahman, the
Marketing Executive Muhammad is Irfanuddin Bin Mohamad Azman, Operational Executive is
Muhammad Haziq Bin Mohd Haikal, and last but not least our Administrative Executive is
Emylia Faraniza Binti Mohd Kabul. Hot Hot Corn also have 4 workers for helping us to operate
our business sufficiently. Plus, we have a good business plan that will guide us through each
stage of starting and managing our business.
Our business plan is divided into four section which is administration plan, marketing plan,
operational plan and lastly is financial plan. There are several key areas that need to be
addressed in an administrative plan for business, especially if the plan is being used to acquire
some type of assistance for the business, such as funding. The first things an administrative
plan needs to cover are the intricacies of the company. An administrative plan is also a vital
component to a company’s level of success.
7
Next, in the section of marketing plan, is an operational document that outlines an advertising
strategy that an organization will implement to generate leads and reach its target market. A
marketing plan details the outreach and PR campaigns to be undertaken over a period,
including how the company will measure the effect of these initiatives. Basically, our marketing
plan includes a description of Hot Hot Corn business’s target market and customer needs.
Furthermore, in operational plan is a detailed plan that offers a clear-cut picture of how a
department, section, or a team will work to realize the goals of its organization. It maps out
the daily tasks in an organized manner to remove any misunderstandings. The operational
plan is restricted to one part of a company. Last but not least, in the financial plan, is simply
an overview of our current business financials and projections for growth. Think of any
documents that represent our current monetary situation as a snapshot of the health of our
business and the projections being our future expectations.

industry or simply draw on the valuable skills acquired to excel elsewhere, F&B is a smart
choice for the career-savvy. Plus, during this pandemic, the demands for foods and beverages
are getting high. SCGM Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Lee Hock Chai observes that the
group saw a higher number of orders from its core F&B clientele during the MCO period. “We
currently have backlog orders of up to one month. We have seen a double-digit increase in
orders for certain F&B products, such as the bento series lunch box, during the MCO period.
The increase in demand is in line with the takeaway trend and higher preference for ready-
to-eat meals” He said. This is supported by GLOBE NEWSHIRE website that stated the global
food and beverages market is expected to grow from $5943.8 billion in 2019 to $6111.1 billion
in 2020 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.9%. The market is then expected to
recover and grow at a CAGR of 7% from 2021 and reach $7527.5 billion in 2023. From this
article, we decided to grab the chance to produce snack foods that is popcorns. People might
think our popcorn is just an ordinary popcorn but we are producing popcorn that is something
they’ve never taste before.
Furthermore, The Global Popcorn Market was valued at $9,060 million in 2016 and is projected
to reach $15,098 million by 2023, registering a CAGR of 7.6% from 2017 to 2023. The busy
and hectic lifestyle has motivated individuals to adopt convenient solutions, such as instant
and ready-to-eat convenient food over traditional meals. In addition, growth in awareness
9
related to health among individuals have changed their eating habits drastically, enforcing
them to have healthy food. Popcorn is the most popular snack and is instant, convenient, and
healthy, as well. It is prepared by heating the corn kernels in a kettle, pot, or stove-top by
adding vegetable oil or butter. Popcorn is one of the oldest and popular snack consumed
across the globe at movie theatres, fairs, carnivals, and stadiums. It requires minimal
preparation time and can be cooked easily at homes or can be consumed as ready-to-eat
snack. Popcorn is a rich and concentrated source of nutrients such as proteins, antioxidants,
fiber, vitamin B complex, and others, which makes it popular among households as a healthy
alternative for breakfast and meals. Rise in consumption of ready-to-eat popcorn at home as
well as in multiplex theatres is the key factor that drives the market growth. Other factors,
such as introduction of microwave popcorn, increased disposable income, and change in
lifestyles further fuel the market growth.

of Kuala Lumpur. Located at the heart of ASEAN, Greater Kuala Lumpur’s strategic location
delivers immense connectivity with emerging markets in Asia, making it the perfect regional
location to grow business strategically within the region. Moreover, Kuala Lumpur and its
surrounding urban areas form the most industrialised and economically, the fastest growing

the arts of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is rated as an alpha world city, and is the only global city
in Malaysia.
Date of Commencement
Our company will commence operation on 1 January 2022.
Factors in Selecting the Proposed Venture
We as Hot Hot Corn teams choose this business because popcorns are the most popular
snacks and many people would love to eat popcorns especially when enjoyed their movie
time. In addition, popcorns are a snack that bring a lot of benefits such as popcorn keep
digestive system healthy. It is important to understand that popcorn is a whole grain, which
is a position for cereals, germination and bran grains. Plus, popcorn has benefits for
cholesterol. Fiber functions in a more beneficial way within the body. Whole grains contain
fiber that can reduce excess cholesterol from the blood vessels and walls of the arteries,
thereby reducing your overall cholesterol levels. This reduces the risk of dangerous
10
cardiovascular conditions such as atherosclerosis, heart attack, and stroke. This also reduces
stress on the cardiac system. We always want the best for our customers. We ensure that our
customer may achieve happiness and healthiness in our food products. We believe that our
main target customer are the children and teenagers. So we must create and produce snacks
food that can be safe for them to eat.
Future Prospects of the Business
Future prospects for our company are maintaining good revenue shows year-over-year growth
and fixed expenses such as labour costs are relatively stable or declining. Also analyse our
company’s debt and access to capital. In other words, we want to be a company with good
revenue growth, less debt and greater access to capital to survive an economic downturn.
Furthermore, we target for our business to go global. We want to build relationships with our
customer from all over the world by promoting and making our popcorn products be accepted
in the whole Malaysia and International market.
Purpose of Preparing Business Plan
One of the purposes of a business plan is to help us to determine exactly how much capital
we need and what we will use it for. This process is essential for raising capital for our business
and for effectively employing the capital. It will also enable us to plan ahead, particularly if
we need to raise additional funding in the future. For instance, we want to obtain and get
loan from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) under Skim Pembiayaan Perniagaan Mudah Jaya.
Other than that, business plan is good to reduce risk. Entrepreneurship is a risky business,
but that risk becomes significantly more manageable once tested against a well-crafted
business plan. Drawing up revenue and expense projections, devising logistics and operational
plans, and understanding the market and competitive landscape can all help reduce the risk
factor from an inherently precarious way to make a living. Having a business plan allows us
to leave less up to chance, make better decisions, and enjoy the clearest possible view of the
future of our company.

MARKETING STRATEGIES
Coupons, specials, contests, social media… we’ve tried it all. When our popcorn business is
just starting out or looking to grow, it is vital to find new marketing strategies that will help
us attract and retain customers. Thus, we’ve developed the best marketing strategies that
designed to help spark our next winning marketing promotion on Hot Hot Corn business.
First and foremost, we provide profitable package deals that customers love. For customers,
they might be pondering to choose over what flavours of popcorn to choose. We give them
an option where they can try multiple flavours in one conveniently priced package. Sampler
packages allow us to sell multiple flavours together. The size of the sampler bags is typically
smaller. It keeps costs down for us, plus provides an incentive for the customer to return to
buy a larger size of their favourites. We create a sampler package of salted egg flavours or
one that’s taste sweet of chocolate. We can even give the option for customers to build their
own. These are also great to give as a gift.
Moreover, we guaranteed sales every month. Recurring sales are essential in our business. As
a popcorn shop, this can mean having a Popcorn Club where members subscribe for the year
and are sent a special flavour of the month. We get to build customer loyalty and our
customers receive a tasty treat. Much like a subscription service, we have the option to bill
annually or monthly. Make the price attractive enough to encourage shoppers to purchase
them as gifts as well. Plus, we noticed that we will have the opportunity to market to these
members throughout the year with other exclusive incentives.
Other than that, we collaborate our business with another business. We find complementary
businesses that match together with popcorn. For example, we make collaboration with F&N
that popular with their soft drinks. Just pair up popcorn flavours with a selection of the
beverages. We make combo packages that includes popcorn and F&N soft drinks which is the
perfect combination for customers that tend to eat popcorns while enjoy their movie time.
