basikal merupakan salah satu
riadah yang semakin mendapat tempat dan
menjadi tren dalam kalangan penduduk di
negara kita hari ini. Sukan berbasikal turut
disertai oleh pelbagai peringkat usia, dari yang
bersekolah sehingalah berpencen. Pendek
kata, sukan ini sesuai dan mudah dikendalikan
oleh semua golongan dan tidak bersifat
ekstrem. Selain dapat mempertingkatkan
tahap kesihatan diri, sukan ini juga dalam
masa yang sama dapat mengeratkan hubungan
kekeluargaan mahupun sahabat handai.
Dari sudut kesihatan, berbasikal dikatakan
dapat memperbaiki postur tubuh dan otot
seseorang dengan gerakannya yang dapat
menguatkan tulang rawan. Jantung juga dapat
mengepam tanpa meletakkan terlalu banyak
tekanan pada sendi dengan berbasikal. Selain
itu, rutin berbasikal juga dapat membantu
menguatkan tulang belakang dan bahagian
atas anggota badan, menguatkan tulang kaki
yang merupakan mobiliti terbaik pinggul dan
sendi lutut. British Medical Association dalam
kajian mereka mendapati bahawa pengidap
bronchitis dan asma amat sesuai mengamalkan
aktiviti berbasikal kerana dipercayai dapat
meningkatkan dan memperbaiki fungsi paru-

mengikut keperluan individu. Contoh
untuk santai/riadah, sukan, kesihatan atau
pengangkutan.
• Saiz basikal mengikut pemiliknya –
memilih saiz yang betul amat penting
untuk kayuhan. Tidak boleh ambil mudah
tentang saiz basikal dan ketinggian
pemilik.
• Keperluan dan aksesori – memakai
topi keledar, sarung tangan, dan pakaian
yang sesuai untuk sukan berbasikal
terutama seluar kayuh yang ada padding
di dalamnya.
• Lampu belakang – pasang untuk
keselamatan diri sendiri dan kesenangan

GUNUNG
Oleh: Mendaki gunung merupakan hobi
Amirudin bin Mohd Zani lasak yang menjadi ikutan dewasa
Fakulti Pengurusan dan Perniagaan ini. Ramai yang sudah menyedari
UiTM Cawangan Terengganu kepentingan bersukan dan juga
kepentingan mendekati diri dengan alam sekitar.
Lantas ramai yang mula memilih untuk mendaki
gunung mahupun bukit sebagai aktiviti riadah di
waktu lapang.
Berbanding bukit, gunung mempunyai
permukaan pendakian yang lebih mencabar.
Gunung berbeza dengan bukit walaupun ada
gunung yang mempunyai ketinggian lebih
rendah daripada bukit tetapi yang membezakan
antara gunung dan bukit adalah trek pendakian
yang lebih mencabar. Gunung juga berbeza
mengikut negara dan permukaan geografi.
Contohnya, ada gunung yang lebih kering
seperti gunung Rinjani di Indonesia dan ada
gunung yang lembab dan basah seperti Gunung
Irau, Cameron Highlands.
Walau apa jua gunung yang ingin didaki, ilmu
pendakian mestilah dipelajari dan dilatih terlebih
dahulu. Setiap gunung mempunyai selok-belok
kemahiran tertentu dan kebiasaannya, perkara

Rubik’s Cube Open Terengganu 2019
was the first Rubik’s Cube competition
conducted in Terengganu and was
held in Dewan Aspirasi, UiTM Cawangan
Terengganu on 30th November 2019. The
event was a collaboration between several
lecturers from the Faculty of Business and
Management and the Office Management
Student Association (OMSA). A children-
costume competition with the theme ‘Fairy
Tale and Superhero’ was also included to
spruce up the event. Even though it was
the first time the event was conducted,
the organisers were surprised to receive
tremendous responses for both competitions.
In addition, several national Rubik’s Cube
players were also invited to join the event to
make it more exciting.
The event started with the registration of
participants and free breakfast at 8.00 a.m.
Both competitions started simultaneously at
9.00 a.m. after Dr. Ahmad Suffian bin Mohd
Zahari, Head of School, Faculty of Business
and Management had officiated the launching
ceremony. The closing ceremony for both
events was officiated by the then Deputy
Rector (Academic Affairs), UiTM Cawangan
Terengganu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khlipah Ibrahim.
For the children’s costume competition, the
competitors were judged by three distinguished
panel juries – Dr. Wan Anisabanum Salleh,
Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Sarifah Fauziah Syed
Deraman, and Ms. Noor Malinjasari Ali,
all of whom are senior lecturers of UiTM
Cawangan Terengganu. For the Rubik’s Cube
competition, the rules and scoring followed
the international rules. The winner of the
competition was based on the fastest player to
solve the cube.
The event was a huge success as both
competitions received positive and
encouraging feedback not only from the
participants but also parents whose children
joined the event. The competition ran
smoothly from start to finish and according
to the plan. One of the factors that attributed
to the success of the event is the remarkable
teamwork of the committee members, i.e. the
lecturers and students from OMSA.
