Hiker’s Trail: Tadabur Alam

Opportunity to participate in fun and leisure activities through mountain climbing. The
two days program begin with lectures on Hiking and Trekking Safety Tips, Protocol and
Climbing Techniques; Hiking as recreation and relating to God through His Creation; and
Techniques for Nature Photos Shooting with Smartphone. This is followed by physical
training on campus in preparation for the actual climb. The actual climbing will be
conducted at selected mountains in Negeri Sembilan under the cooperation between
USIM and the Forestry Department, Negeri Sembilan. During the climb, participants will
be exposed to jungle survival activities and leisure nature appreciation sessions.

and ability to exercise the adventure activities. In addition, provide opportunities for
participants to interact & visit the tropical site, the wonderful nature tours to spot the
wildlife and tropical trees & plants at Royal Belum State Park which was gazetted for
biodiversity conservation to facilitate biodiversity education, research & ecotourism. The

Sustainable Bioprocess Development

The Sustainable Bioprocess Development program offers international students the
opportunity to explore the sustainable practices in Malaysia. This program emphasizes
the current biomass scenarios in Malaysia which include issues regarding the availability
and sustainability of raw materials as well as current and possible utilization of biomass.
The program also offers biomass conversion technologies as seen in some Malaysia case
studies related to the utilization of biomass for production of value-added products.
The program is designed specifically for undergraduate engineering and biotechnology
students who play important roles in the operation, optimization and development of
biotechnology processes. The participants will be given the opportunity to present their
own case study and to tour the chemical engineering laboratory and Centre of Excellence
for Advanced Research in Fluid Flow (CARIFF).
