St. Patrick's Day
This year we celebrated St. Patrick's Day three
days in a row! On the first day we held a St.
Patrick's dinner at Johnson Dining Hall, on the
second day West Campus Dining Hall hosted
an Irish lunch and on the third day Johnson
Dining Hall hosted a St. Patrick's themed
brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Featured
items were Shamrock Shakes, root beer floats,
Reuben's and Rachel's!

This month Dining Services hosted
another "YCP Tasty at the Teaching Kitchen
event!" The theme for March was
Vegetarian! This month's class taught our
students how they can still indulge, but in a
more health-conscious way!

Student Choice
And the winner is....Tu Taco!
After 4 weeks of voting, our students made
their choice! Tu Taco came in as the winner
with 51% of the votes.
We will be having our "Student Choice
Grand Opening" on April 3rd with free food,
prizes and our very own York College
Screamer will cut the ribbon at this event.

Taking a "Slice" out
of campus hunger!
For every 25 pizzas sold at BUILD until March
28th, Dining Services will donate 1 pound of
food to the York Cares Campus Food Pantry.
This pantry supports York College students
that are experiencing food insecurity.

Caring for our
community
Food insecurity affects more students on the
York College campus than one can imagine.
In order to combat this problem, Dining
Services has collaborated with ISLGP and
will be donating 500 meals per year to help
make a difference right here at York College!

Waste Warriors!
In order to help reduce our waste
and carbon footprint on our
Earth, Dining Services is
participating in Stop Food Waste
Day at York College!
We are measuring our waste
every single day for four weeks
with the goal of having waste
decrease by the end of the
program.
By using root to stem cooking,
ordering food locally and being
more conscious about what we
put on our plate, we can reduce
waste right here at York College!

Love, Chartwells
We absolutely love our guests! In order to show
how much we appreciate them, we have started
"Love, Chartwells". Our first Love, Chartwells event
was a free popcorn bar! Students could top their
popcorn off with with chocolate, hot sauce, sugar,
salt and so much more! This event was definitely a
hit after serving popcorn to over 100 students!

National
Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month! Every Monday
in March at both of our all-you-care-to-eat dining
halls we are offering an energizing and
nutritional breakfast that celebrates National
Nutrition Month!

Accepted Student Day
March 24th marked the first Accepted Student
Day for the Spring 2018 semester. We welcomed
over 1,000 guests to campus, joined them in
Johnson Dining Hall for lunch and spoke with
them about their future dining program! Pictured
below is Chef Levi and Director Corey Wagner
speaking with families about common allergens
and how we take care of our students that have
allergies in our dining halls.
