On 26th January 2020, I received a Certificate of Commendation as ‘Shreshta Vaktaa’
conferred by Gurugram Administration, Government of Haryana. My heart was filled with
gratitude for my mentors and my alma mater Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram
for providing opportunities, nurturing talent and fostering excellence among us students. I
was five years old in Grade Prep, when my teachers appreciated that I loved to recite
poems and was able to articulate my thoughts with clarity. As an inquisitive child, I asked
lots of questions, expressed my thoughts and loved narrating long stories to anyone who
was willing to listen. I also remember every time a teacher would ask students to read a
chapter aloud in class, I was one of the first to raise my hand, as it was an opportunity to
connect with an audience. Every day at school is an exciting experience full of learning as
we get unlimited occasions to participate and hone multiple skills for wholesome
development. Be it regular classroom activities, language ASLs, auditions and participation
in Inter-House and Inter-School Competitions, CBSE activities, Walkathon, Community
Service, Class Assemblies, Annual functions, Learner’s Conclave, Model United Nations and
other such events widen our horizons, expand our knowledge and enhance our self-
confidence. The guidance and constant encouragement from our mentors’ paves way for
indomitable passion that inspires us to excel. - Kriti Malik Grade XI-Shakespeare
