KHYATI PRASAD THE SOLAR SYSTEM SCHOOL
X ELBRUS
Depressed as my mother was,
ARSHIA AHUJA She couldn’t find a suitable school for me.
V OLIVES Every school she went,
No school had space for me.
So, she decided,
To go high in the sky,
Its worth the try,
And visit the solar system school.
Maybe the school,
Wanted me?
The solar system school was weird,
Full of circles that couldn’t talk known as
planets.
The first floor had 4 best planets,
Their names were Mercury, Venus, Earth and
Mars.
Mercury was super hot in the day and,
Freezing cold at night.
Venus by name,
Was the brightest of all.
Earth seemed the coolest to me,
With a personal thing orbiting it.
Mars wasn’t very interesting,
But was completely red.
Then we went to the 2nd floor,
The best 4 planets were Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus and Neptune.
Jupiter was the biggest of all,
With a famous storm called The great Red
Spot.
Saturn was the prettiest,
With beautiful rings around it.
Uranus was normal,
Just blue, blue and blue.
Neptune too was blue,
But had ice cold storms on it.
At last we met the principle,
Super-hot Mr. Sun.
This school wanted me,
But it was too extra ordinary for me.

DOCTOR FRANKLIN'S EXPERIMENT GOES WRONG
Dr. Franklin was working on his exciting and brand-new experiment. This experiment
was going to change the world forever. He was creating a friendly giant who would
save the whole world from all the suffering. He just needed some twigs, leaves and
sap of a rare eucalyptus tree and the experiment would work. Franklin worked hard
to collect all the required things. One night, he put all the ingredients in his high-tech
machine, set up some parameters and switched it on. It was expected that by
morning, when the machine would light up a blue beacon, the experiment would be
considered successful. He went to sleep peacefully. However, in the middle of the
night, some zombies and creepers appeared from nowhere and started fiddling with
the machine and messed up all the parameters. When he woke up in the morning,
he saw a red beacon instead of a blue one which meant that the end result of his
experiment was a cruel monster named THE BLOCK MONSTER. Franklin quickly
escaped from his experiment shed. The Block Monster could break and destroy
anything in the world. He darted out of the shed and started wrecking everything.
The scariest thing about the Block monster was that he was completely invisible to
everyone! This creature would pop up behind you and ruin anything. Franklin knew
this so he decided to hide somewhere. Otherwise, he would get attacked. Suddenly,
someone patted him on the back. When he looked behind, he saw a huge and strong
SUPERHERO! The superhero’s name was THE MIGHTY MAN. The Mighty Man asked
Franklin to return with him to the shed. Franklin was scared but agreed and they
went back. The Mighty Man asked him the formula to fix the machine. Franklin said
he needed tears, sweat and a doctor’s death!!! Franklin thought that saving the
world is more important, so he jumped into the nearby well and drowned. Mighty
Man was sad, and his eyes filled with tears. He made the potion, but he didn’t know
what to do. So, he went to kill the Block Monster. Mighty Man was so strong that the
moment he punched the Block Monster, he died instantly. Mighty Man had the
power of getting people back to life. So, he revived Dr. Franklin. Both were relieved
and delighted and thanked each other. Franklin resumed his work happily.

Life and death… SAANVI HORA
VIII MISSISSIPPI
Her eyes were mesmerising,
And so were his sins,
She danced in the moonlight,
Yet he stayed in the dim.
She was adored by all,
But he was mourned by all,
Never had they adored each other,
But she gave him welcoming gifts like all.
And so the gifts went slowly,
Yet gracefully enjoying their time,
But when it came to him,
They had altered into something tall.
One day sitting beneath the tree,
Swinging in the wind,
She asked as polite as possible,
To him .
“Why do others love me,
And hate you after all?”
He looked at her,
With a grim smile and told.
“Darling, it’s because you,
are a beautiful lie,
And I,
am a painful truth .”

A very cold summer
A very cold summer
The mini- ice age
The pole star
So beautiful and far,
The calm moon
Who gave me a boon,
The dazzling sun
Who always told me to have fun
Where is the sun and what does cold summer mean, are we heading towards Mini Ice
Age?
Yes, it is true that a mini ice age is going to happen for the next three decades as the
sun is going into hibernation. I thought that only animals hibernate and if so, how will
this affect crops and human life? Well, the sun rays won’t be as strong as they are in
summers so there might be a slight effect on the crops. So, we can also say that this
means it won’t be as hot and warm as it is in the summer every year. The temperature
might drop a bit as it is on the biding of winter days.
As per scientists, there is a sunspot activity in the sun that has an 11-year cycle. When
any change happens in this cycle, it can cause phenomenon like solar maximum and
solar minimum. In a solar maximum, the sun will be littered resulting in more heat and
energy reaching the earth whereas in solar minimum, energy from the star will be very
low causing various effects on earth.
Valentina Zarkhova, a professor in physics and electrical engineering is one of the great
scientists who have warned us about it. She believes that this could continue till 2050s.
She also believes that the last hibernation happened around 400 years ago, in the 17th
century. This is what scientists and Zarkhova have found. So, while packing winter stuff
away, keep few jackets handy just in case………….
