GETTING COSY WITH TOLUNA

Last month we conducted the "Getting Cosy with Toluna" contest and saw many

interesting book and movie reviews posted in the Toluna Community. Our
favourite submissions from Australia and New Zealand are on the following
page, and as promised the members who posted them have received 1000
points for being featured here in the magazine!

In case you missed it, below are the five winners of the top prize - a $20 GiftPay

e-gift card. Congrats and thanks for participating!

We just want to take this opportunity to tell you
about the GiftPay Flexi e-gift card. These are
available to redeem from our Rewards Centre for

19,500 points, and we are able to process
redemptions for this reward 2-3 times a week. This

means you'll receive a GiftPay e-gift much quicker
than other rewards such as PayPal or Farmers.
GiftPay e-gifts can then be exchanged for store

branded e-gift cards including Farmers, Event
Cinemas and much more. If you've never redeemed

points for this reward, give it a try!

Book &
TOLUNA'S
Movie Club!

By twitz17:

This is a review of a book I read a while ago: Devour introduces Olivia Wolfe, an

investigative journalist, back from reporting in Afghanistan with a price on her
head. Intrigued by the mysterious death of a team member drilling in the
Antarctic, Olivia agrees to cover news of the scientific search for life under
Antarctic's Lake Ellsworth whilst doing her own bit of digging for a story.

This is an action packed tale where no-one is safe and everyone is suspect. The

close-knit team of scientists seem to have a saboteur in their midst. However,
something far more scary, with the potential to affect millions, lies hidden in the
depths of the lake.

A good, fast-paced read with all the right ingredients, including the slightly over-

the-top climax. I personally would have preferred the story not to been written
in present tense but it certainly gives the reader an idea that it would make a
great action film.

By Stonehenge:

I remember the first time I watched Home Alone, my kids

were home (not alone) from school because they had the
chicken pox. Keeping them occupied at home in the days
before Netflix and Foxtel was going to the video store and
hiring a movie. It was while there getting another movie that
Home Alone was screening on the TV in store and it looked
like fun and something the kids would like. My kids are

adults with kids of their own now, but occasionally when
Home Alone is on TV I still might watch it. It's a funny movie
and the story takes place at Christmas in America when it's
snowing outside.

FROM THE COMMUNITY

HERE'S HOW THE NEW ZEALAND COMMUNITY
FEELS ABOUT RECENT NEWS AND HEADLINES

FACEAPP HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A FEW
YEARS, BUT THE APP'S PRIVACY POLICY
RECENTLY MADE HEADLINES. WE ASKED
MEMBERS HOW THEY FELT ABOUT TECH
COMPANIES USING AND STORING
PERSONAL DATA.

Out of 436 members polled, 25% always read the fine

print before downloading and using any app. 25%
would only be worried if their information ended up in

the wrong hands, while 8% are not concerned about it.

THE TRAGIC MASS SHOOTINGS IN
DAYTON AND EL PASO AGAIN
BROUGHT THE GUN DEBATE TO
LIGHT. HOWEVER POLITICIANS WERE
QUICK TO BLAME VIDEO GAMES FOR
PROMOTING VIOLENCE. WE WANTED
TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS.

14% of members who responded to our poll

agreed that video games are the main cause
of these shootings, while 35% think they are a

contributing factor. 46% think politicians are
just using this excuse as a scapegoat.

MANY COMPANIES ARE TAKING
ACTION TO REDUCE WASTE AND
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT. THE
NEXT TIME YOU STAY IN A HOTEL,
YOU MAY FIND THE MINI SOAP AND
SHAMPOO BOTTLES REPLACED BY
BULK-SIZED DISPENSERS

Of the 384 members polled, 63% think this is a

great idea, while 16% don't agree with the
change. It appears that 18% like to collect the
mini shampoo and soap bottles!
