The last British champion was in 1962 but for Wolverhampton this is our first, what an accolade for 17 year old Henry Searle. Having beaten the number one seed in the first round, Henry breezed his way through the rounds to entertain a packed number 1 court. Nine aces, 22 winners and not a set lost, he dominated and won. He can be proud to be in the good company of past winners to include Roger Federer, Björn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Pat Cash all of whom went on to win the Men's Wimbledon Title. Henry started tennis at a very early age at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis Club in Newbridge Crescent and is currently studying for A levels at Loughborough Amherst School. Henry is still very much involved with the club where his brother is a coach. Henry’s expectations were modest when entering the competition, so I think its fair to say with dedication and hard work anything is possible. Henry had his family and “barmy army” of followers supporting him in the crowd and at the packed tennis club to view on screen. Well done Henry you are an inspiration to all young people. Holly soon comes to her senses and calls the police, both mother and baby are taken to the local hospital to be checked over, then to be taken to a safe place under the protection of the care system, no one hears of them again. Almost two decades later a true-crime author Amanda Bailey is writing a book about the Alperton Angels cult, the baby will now have turned eighteen an age which means he/she can be interviewed, IF Amanda can find them, it will be the crime scoop of the year. There is another crime author on the trail of the baby, as well known and just as smart as Amanda but with better connections to police and ruling authorities, Oliver Menzies, they do know each other, from previous cases, but a disagreement in the past makes Amanda feel she cannot fully trust Oliver, both know however that if they want the scoop of the times, they need to work together. As their investigation continue, each using their own informers and contacts, they “lay” small traps for each other trying to find if they are sharing their information with each others or keeping “snippets” to further their own advantage. As the investigation continues it unfolds there is much more to the story and history of the Alperton Angels, their past is much darker and sinister than anyone could imagination, and they have some very influential friends in high powerful positions, in government, the law and business, so Amanda and Oliver must both tread very carefully as their lives could be in danger, their story could have a very unexpected and sad ending for one or both of them. Review by Doreen Luck. This story is written as text messages, and emails from all characters throughout the book, with so many characters I found it difficult to keep track of who was talking to who, I was constantly going back and forth trying to fit names to initials!! This is a really good crime novel, however I did feel it would have been more enjoyable if written in a conventional story format. The 2023 Bike4Life Ride Out saw a total of 3,500 motorbikes ride in convoy for 23 miles between Meole Brace, Shrewsbury to one of the charity’s three operational airbases at RAF Cosford. Thousands of bikers and pillions took part and attended the Bike4Life Festival. The event, which took place late April, was the most successful yet, helping to raise the six-figure sum for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. This means that 36 air ambulance and an additional 36 critical care cars missions have been made possible. The event, which was officially sponsored by The Bike Insurer, was supported by several famed VIPs including: Carl Fogarty MBE – one of the most successful world superbike racers who holds second highest number of race wins at 59. Steve Parrish – British former professional motorcycle and truck racer, and television commentator who was a teammate to Barry Sheene in the 1977 500cc world championship. Allen Millyard – An engineer and custom motorcycle builder having created specials like one of the world's largest, his Flying Millyard. Well known for appearing on television alongside Henry Cole. Ollie Ollerton – A former UK Special Forces Soldier and directing staff (DS) from Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins. RubyRides – A motorbiking social media influencer with a big following on Instagram and YouTube.
