Key benefits of Econoboard insulation

Econoboard insulation is essential for an energy efficient electric underfloor heating system. A layer
of Econoboard will help prevent heat loss into the substrate and ensure faster heat up times, as
well as providing a stable, flat substrate for underfloor heating.

• Improve the efficiency of electric underfloor heating by up to 50%

• 100% moisture resistant and rot proof

• Minimal heat loss into the substrate and faster heat up times

• Helps prevent mould staining from moisture in bathrooms

• Easy to install - cuts with regular hand tools

• Can be installed on floors and walls

• Coated boards improve lateral and flexural stability of timber floors

Installation overview

Using Econoboard Coated and the range of fixing accessories quickly creates an ideal, stable
substrate for tile adhesive and underfloor heating. It can be used on floors and walls and is 100%
rot proof which makes it ideal for use in bathrooms and wetrooms.

1. Ensure the timber substrate is secure and free
from dust and any debris.

2. Cut boards to size with a sharp blade and
position over the floor area in an offset brick
pattern.

3. Fix in position using fixing screws (6017)
and washers (6016) at 300mm centres (10
washers per board).

Did you know?

Fire is the oldest form of Heating
used by man. Every 52 years,
when the Aztecs calendar
completed a cycle they would
extinguish every flame in the
empire. The high priest would
start a new fire and fires fed from
this flame would be distributed
throughout the land. Today you can
have heat anywhere in your home
whenever you like with the simple
flick of a switch.

(Unless otherwise specified)

Thermorail Electric Heated Towel Rails

Electric heated towel rails have a quick response time, are a lot more energy efficient and are more
suited to the Australian climate than traditional liquid filled models. The dry electric element heats
up quickly and in turn heats the air in the tubes. When a towel is hung on the rails the heat is
concentrated under the towel allowing it to dry more quickly.

Consider using a timer to control your electric heated towel rail ensuring you have a
warm towel when you need it. See page 118 - 119
