Letter
The past few years have been difficult for everyone.
We've seen ups and downs constantly, especially for
the Class of 2022. From rushing through
university applications and studying for our
postponed CAIE's to spending our first
year of A Levels all online, we never backed down
from the challenge and always made
sure we put in the effort.
Here's to a year full of excitement and fear and to
remembering LGS as the school that shaped our
youth. Enjoy!
YEARBOOK 22
The 02
Yearbook Team
Abdullah Zubair
President AI & Tech Society
The amalgamation of hard work and sheer dedication for this
project is what shined through its true beauty. LGS became
more of a second home for me and I'm honored to compile its
memories into something concrete. Although the process
might have been tiresome, it was the perfect amount of fun
for my last days here.
Aminah Ahmerin
Deputy President Literary Society
Throughout this entire process I have felt a mix of
excitement and dread: excitement for my role in creating a
tangible version of our time at LGS and dread about
whether the yearbook would match expectations. While it
exceeded mine (I'm a bit of a pessimist), here’s to me
hoping the same is true for all of you.
Ahmed Aslam
President Literary Society
Working on this yearbook has been cathartic. It's been a
joy compiling all of these highlights for all of you to
enjoy even decades from now. These memories are more
than worth preserving and it's been an honour compiling
them for you.

Administration
Mrs. Haidri Mrs. Flora Haidri, Ma'am Flora, or the busy woman upstairs, has
dedicated her every waking moment to ensuring that LGS
Head of School Islamabad reach a level of educational excellency not common in
our corner of the globe. Mrs. Haidri has always pushed students to
unlock potential within themselves they are often not even aware
of. She believes a school can be more than just that, a school,
and instead, a beacon for children as they grow into adulthood;
it's no coincidence so many LGSI alumni find their way back to her
office after graduation. Ma'am Flora has worked tirelessly to
imbue in her students a sense of spirit and pride for the institution
that raised them in their most formative years. She has never
aimed for anything less than excellency and she probably never
will.
Mr. Hussain Mr. Hussain Kabani, Sir Kabani, or the jolly man upstairs, has
Kabani always strived to nurse his students' passions and instil a razor-
sharp optimism on campus that will help students navigate the
world for the rest of their lives. If we were at war, Sir Kabani
would surely be the one to rally the troops and keep morale high,
as he often did on campus even when circumstances were
strained by a global pandemic. He was never anything but
available to hear a student's issues, worries, fears, or joys. Sir
Kabani has only ever believed in the best and brightest of what
the students of LGS have to offer. Sir Kabani understands that the
world children grow into requires more than just academic
intelligence, but emotional intelligence as well.

Faculty
Sir Nadeem
If you ever needed a file, document, transcript or email, Sir Nadeem would send it over before
you even had to ask. From conducting school events to solving every menial problem you could
ever have, Sir Nadeem has been the school's resident bookkeeper for years, never asking for any
thanks. To all of us, he is a hero, whether he's sending you your transcripts the night of a deadline
or just turning the projector on because the teacher can't figure it out, he is our hero.
Ma'am Khola
For all those amazing events or dazzling gatherings we've had in the past year, we would
thank Ma'am Khola for them personally. From arranging all the details and providing
amazing moral support, any form of organised events on campus would not have been
possible without her hard work.
Ma'am Neelofer
For some of you, Ma'am Neelofer is the reason you got into college. Had it not been for her
bravery spamming all of us with constant meeting reminders, many of us would not have
ended up where we are. To Ma'am Neelofer, thank you for always doing your job with a
warm smile (and for being funny).
The Rest of the Staff
To every teacher, staff member and custodian, thank you. Our lives are forever changed
because of the amount of work and effort you put in each day. You are inspirations, role
models, mentors and friends. Thank you for raising us, thank you for sharing the wonderful
gift of knowledge with us, and thank you for your unwavering support.

WWhen hen I got my admission offer from LGS, the email was titled ‘Welcome to
the the LGS family’. I never thought much of this till I found myself crying at
the the farewell in the arms of people who were mere strangers to me 2 years
ago. ago. These strangers became family when they saw me wear the same blue
hoodie for a week straight and never questioned it. They became family when I bought
a pineapple plushie called ‘Akhtar’ to school and everyone posed for a picture.
Someone once told me their favorite thing about LGS was that it squeezed the potential
out of them, so none was wasted. In a million different ways I have felt the same thing:
I had other people dreaming big for me when I wasn’t. I was put outside my comfort
zone enough times to make a home there, which is why this feeling wasn’t always
positive. I’ve been angry, excited, upset, tired, and every other adjective I don’t have
the vocabulary to use. But at the end of it all, what I’m left with is gratitude.
Over these two years, there has been a place here for every version of me. All thanks to
the people here, who have no idea what brilliant things they’re going to do. So, this
note is a thank you to the tiny people on my computer screen that became family. The
person you were 2 years ago is proud of the person you are today.
Though life goes on and change is inevitable, the soles of my shoes will always be red. Humna Rehan

Throughout the school
year we were lucky
enough to enjoy a
number of functions
and events. From
concerts and artists
performing at school to
activity days where our
batches played tug-of-
war, each event holds a
special place in our
hearts. In all our
singing, hugging, and
dancing, we shaped the
memories we'll look
back on fondly for the
rest of our lives.
AS
Orientation
The newest batch of AS Students received the warmest of welcomes from the faculty and
A2 seniors. Ma'am Flora and Sir Kabani led the event alongside the A2 Society
Representatives by showing the new students what LGS was all about. To start things off,
Sir Kabani ordered the perfect icebreaker: go introduce yourself to a stranger.
With new students practically forced to socialise, it's safe to say, the ice was broken very
well. A2 students were given a chance to uphold the responsibility of their positions
as Society Reps, manning stalls where they would recite their society's elevator pitch to
as many students as would listen. Without lifting a finger, the MUN Society
secured the most sign ups, but thankfully our new batch showed themselves to be
interested in a variety of arts.

Oath
Taking
Ceremony
A day of unity and promise, the Oath Taking Ceremony saw our elected Student Council
undertake both a responsibility and a committment. The pledge was not only to one's
school, students, and faculty, but also to those outside the school walls.
The Ceremony saw a beautifully fitting start to the tenure of its most senior batch,
where they each swore to excel as leaders and to spread their passion as far and wide as
they could. Moving forward, the Student Council would lead as role models for their
students; they would become the backbone of their school, responding in the
middle of the night to Ma'am Flora's every beck and call; they would put out a hundred
fires on many occasions so that events would run smoothly and be enjoyable; but most of
all, they had fun doing it.

Concert
Stage lights, music, dancing, and cheers. On a night memorable to most, LGS
Islamabad was given a gorgeous musical experience, swaying back-and-forth in one
big crowd to the songs of two eccentric Pakistani artists. Most will remember the
jumping, dancing, and screaming as they gave the night to the artists' performances.
Both wonderful performers, Asim Azhar and Annural Khalid, filled the crowd with
everything from excitement to melancholy, leaving no rest for the audience as they
ensured the crowd was part of each and every song.

Concert
Starting off as a night full of promise, students from O and A levels alike gathered on
the school ground waiting for the arrival of our headliner. As delays kept on occurring,
students found a way to keep themselves entertained with various performances on
stage ranging from singing to beatboxing. While our headliners ultimately canceled on
us, Maam Flora and Sir Kabani took it upon themselves to make sure the night was not
lost. While the night may not have turned out the way we expected, it was one which
we will not easily forget; or want to.

Activities
Day
It was game time on campus as both A-Level batches set out to spend the day enjoying a
variety of sports, games, and activities. To kick off the day, AS and A2 faced off in a head-
to-head football match where both teams put on an exhilarating match. The occasion
was enjoyed by all as students lined the pitch to spectate the match, from the A2 seniors
primary-school children. Both batches continued their rivalry from basketball to an all-
out game of tug-of-war, where again, AS proved the strongest. While both batches got to
enjoy their last stress-free days as mocks and CIEs loomed over, A2 was enjoying some
of their last moments as highschoolers on campus.
