Chancellor - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

When we study in a college, striving to become a
doctor, a lawyer, or an engineer - this is education
for a living. On the other hand, education for
life requires an understanding of the essential
principles of spirituality; it is about gaining a deeper
understanding of the world, our minds, our emotions,
and ourselves. We all know that the real goal of
education is not to create people who understand
only the language of technology; the main purpose of
education should be to impart a culture of the heart,
a culture based on spiritual values.

Communication through technology has made
the world a small place yet there is so much of a
division. Today’s world needs people who express
goodness in their words and in action with which
the darkness prevailing in today’s society will be
dispelled and the light of peace and non-violence
will once again illuminate this earth. Let us work
together towards this goal.

Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri

President - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

We, the Amrita Family,
welcome you with
open arms and
open hearts

to this great institution of
Amma’s infinite compassion and love.

To... ...become special or extraordinary is the dream of every ambitious student. But how does
one become special? Is it only through academic excellence? Of course, that is part of it, but
academic brilliance alone is not enough. The most important thing in building your life and
future is your ability to focus on your inner self and to realize the inherent abilities there within.
When you graduate and enter the practical world of opportunities and challenges, you may find
yourself among thousands of competent professionals. What will you have over them? It will be
your ability to tap into your inner source and let flow the grace you find there into your work.
The extent to which you will be able to do this will depend entirely on how open you are to the
wonderful opportunities available at Amrita.
May you ever remain open to Amma’s grace.
Ever in Amma,
With Love and Prayers

Welcome to the Amrita School of Engineering
(ASE), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham !!

Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan The School of Engineering is home to eight
Dean-Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham undergraduate, and twenty six post-graduate programs
at four campuses. Under the guidance of our highly
qualified faculty and state-of- the art laboratory facilities,
the School provides an environment of experiential
learning. In partnership with business and industry,
the School’s goal is to prepare students to compete as
leaders in the rapidly changing global marketplace and
to provide a high-quality technical work force for the
future. Innovative curriculum and hands-on approach
to learning, brings out the problem solving, and the true
engineering character in our students.

The School of Engineering has several collaborations with top US and European Universities and has emerged as
one of the fastest growing Institution of higher learning in India. The School of Engineering holds a stellar placement
record, with over 98% of our student’s placed in top national and international companies. Besides placement, many
ASE students pursue post graduate programmes in top Universities in Europe, Australia and the US.

As Dean Engineering, I am very proud of our faculty’s dedication and commitment to excellence. It’s an honour to be
part of this highly qualified team of faculty, who are constantly striving to scale greater heights.

Above all, Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (AMMA), one of the foremost humanitarian leaders, is the

achievements of Amrita alumni stand as testimony to the education at Amrita.

Message

Prof. C. Parameswaran Amrita has always been in the forefront of education that is
Director - Corporate & Industry Relations rooted in human values. We are aware of the fact that our
students have chosen this university for their higher education
with a view to achieving their life’s goals that do not end with
a degree or a job. In fact, that is just the beginning in their
career path. In order to cater to the requirements of students
from diverse disciplines for building competencies in domain
areas as well as in life skills, and play a vital role in the
fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations, the university has
established a dedicated centre, namely, Corporate and Industry
Relations (CIR) at its headquarters in Coimbatore, with
branches in the other four campuses.

CIR employs a multi-pronged approach for empowering students to achieve their goals, and supporting faculty
and industry with projects, industry-based research and other collaborative engagements like establishment of labs,
customized higher educational programmes for industry personnel, etc. Simultaneously, it creates opportunities for
our faculty to develop their skills through Faculty Development Programmes and familiarize themselves with the
latest industry practices.

We urge the students to set their goals clearly and chalk out a detailed plan of action for academic learning and
professional and life skills development. At the same time, make the best use of the conducive ambience prevailing
in the campus to imbibe core human values, without which all other attainments pale into insignificance.
