The economic and social development of
Thailand has resulted in rapid growth of the economic

sector, that is, the more development achieved means that
more quality human resource development in all dimensions
is also needed. Human resource development needs to
produce people who are capable, able to use discretion,
skilled and easily adaptable to changing circumstances, who
have the love for and are protective of natural resources, the
environment, and are conscientious and proud
of preserving the traditions, culture and Thai
identity. Moreover, immunity needs to be
built for people to be adept to the changes that will take place, and for the
people to live dignified lives in happy families and peaceful societies.
“Bangkok Happy Center” are considered another project under the
policy directive of the Governor of Bangkok (Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang) and
executives of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. This is an addition to
the existing services offered to the public in the form of recreation and exercises

The “Dusit Discovery Learning Library” has
been reopened for business, after a temporary closure
for the return of land for the construction of the new
Parliament building. The current premises is located
within the Government Center (Kiak Kai) and offers
services such as lending of books, membership
application, internet services, newspapers and
magazines and reading promotion services.

BMA has embarked on a construction project of a Library, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Local
5-storey concrete building under the name “Government Museum, Bangkok Emergency Services Taskforce
Center Kiakkai” to fulfill the needs of the agencies (BEST), Dusit. The construction site is within the

“Bangkok” is recognized around the world
as being the center of East Asia and vibrant tourism

all in one city. It is also counted as an economic city that
is amongst the top in the world. Bangkok is also a hub of
the splendid ancient cultures as a result of the melting pot
of many ethnicities that have resided and built their lives in
the area for many generations. This diversity has been
molded into Bangkok’s unique local culture that is
historically valuable.

Bangkok is a therefore a magnet that attracts people from around the world,
especially foreign tourists who come to travel, research and learn about the history,
archeology, arts and culture, ways of life and different forms of tourism. For the management
of cultural activities of Bangkok to be with strategized planning and clear direction of the
work objectives, the framework of approach has been set to implement work through
projects and activities in a continuous and contemporary manner to be passed on to
later generations.

Project on Important National
Tradition Days

BMA has as a policy to promote children, youths,
the general public and state officials to be aware of the
importance of continuing and strengthening the culture and
traditions of Thailand and important national tradition days,
to remind the general public and people in society on the
commemoration of important days with pride. The policy
also promotes a model for good conduct of the people.

The art and culture activities for important national tradition days in 2019 are as follows :
1) Traditional celebration of New Year’s Day and Buddhist prayer chanting across the year
for 2019, at the Lan Khon Mueang Town Square, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
City Hall 2) Great Bangkok Songkran Festival of 2019 at Lumpini Park, Pathumwan
3) Compiling of Commemorative Book for Maolid Klang to be presented to His Majesty
the King and disseminated to participants of the Maolid Klang of 2019, at the National
Administration Center for Islamic Affairs Chalermphrakiat, Klong Kao, Nong Chok, Bangkok.
4) Holding of the Kori testing in Bangkok for 2019 at Darulmukrodrabin Mosque Lamhin,
Nong Chok.

Project on Important Buddhist
Religious Days

BMA sees the importance of strengthening its role
as a model organization for the promotion of religious work
in Bangkok. Such work is done in collaboration with religious
and cultural networks and organizations, state and private
agencies, to annually organize cultural promotion activities
on important Buddhist religious days. This is held in
remembrance of the Lord Buddha and his great compassion,
and is considered a very auspicious occasion for Thai

Buddhists to join hands to celebrate, make merit and
practice the Dharma on important religious holidays. The
activities consist the following : 1) Merit-making and
offering alms to 68 monks on the occasion of Maka Bucha
Day of 2019at Lan Khon Mueang Town Square, Bangkok

excelence of Thai tourism industry in a comprehensive manner, in

has recognized the importance of promoting, preserving and
developing tourism. In this regard, the Department has implemented
