SPURS HALF CENTURY
FOR HARRY
POPPY SHIRT AUCTION
STILL OPEN! Harry Kane  hit two
milestones in one match
as he captained England
against Belgium in UEFA
Nations League action last

First up, the clash in Leuven
represented Harry's 50th
cap for his country. The
striker has scored 32 goals in
those 50 caps, captaining his
country on 28 occasions.

Meanwhile, Harry has now
won more England caps as
a Spurs player than anyone
else, his half-century taking
him past Jermain Defoe,
who earned 49 of his 57 caps
during his two spells at the

Eric Dier  has moved level

GOALKEEPING
GREATS

Two of the greatest goalkeepers
to ever play the game pose for the
camera at White Hart Lane back on
7 September 1985 to mark a special
milestone.

Ahead of our Division One game
against Newcastle United that day,
Ray Clemence was presented with
a decanter set to commemorate his
1,000th senior game of his career,
which he made in his appearance
between the sticks in our 5-1 defeat
of the Magpies that afternoon.

And it was fitting that Clem received
the award from Pat Jennings, who
had joined the exclusive ‘1,000 Club’
just the previous season.

A testament to his incredible
fitness and consistency, Ray’s tally
of matches at that time included
appearances throughout his career
for England, Spurs, Liverpool and
Scunthorpe as well as representing
the Football League.

Speaking in the matchday
programme against Newcastle,
he said: “Playing my 1,000th game
represents a great deal to me
because to do it you have to be
consistent and lucky with injuries for
a long spell of time. It’s very satisfying
as a professional to sit back and
realise that you’ve done just that.”
