I've been made aware that a special assessment or raise in dues is being voted on next meeting. My email is to
request that we review consideration of the following one example for possible reduction our expenses.
Replace incondecent (average 60W) light bulbs with LED (average 10W) around the community. If we consider
there may be 300+ incondecent light bulbs energized around the property (one light per front door, plus
walkways, mailbox structures), then we are looking at a possible reduction for lighting at 1/6 the wattage needed.
Standard LED bulbs in reference are available for less than $1 each. Owners could swap bulbs themselves and
community volunteers (like me) could assist others who are unable to switch. Such an effort could go a long
way and I'd also be willing to spreadsheet the potential saving using more actual data. I could also volunteer
professional engineering review for accuracy and to identify any uncertainties.
