2 EFFECT OF SERUM FBS IN THE DICENTRIC CHROMOSOME ABERRATIONASSAY TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CELLS Nurul Nazeerah Juarimi, Rahimah Abdul Rahim, Juliana Mahamad Napiah and Noraisyah Mohd Yusof ABSTRACT The frequency of chromosome aberrations provides the most reliable biological marker to detect acute accidental radiation exposure (Brooks et al., 1993). Radiation can cause different types of chromosomal aberrations, which can be divided to stable aberrations like translocations and unstable aberrations like dicentric chromosomes (DC), micronuclei, acentric, and ring-form(Agarwal N., 2022). Dicentric chromosome assay (DCA) using blood lymphocytes has become the “gold standard” of radiation biological dosimetry due to its reproducibility,relative specificityto radiation and its sensitivity to doses below acute medical significance (Stephen et al., 2017). Fetal bovine serum (FBS) and fetal calf serum (FCS) are widely used growth supplements for cellculture, principally due to their high concentrations of growth stimulatory hormones and low concentrations of growth inhibitory factors (Manello et al., 2007). FBS act as one of the factors which influence the cell progression rate in cell culture, hence may affect the chromosome aberration frequencies (Kanda R., 2000). In this facility, FBS is used as the standard procedure following International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) technical document and the percentage used as a common practice is 10% FBS for the samples that being received. However,there are only a few journals reported on the effect of different percentage of FBS in the dicentric chromosome aberration assay for higher radiation dose exposure. Hence, the goal of this study isto compare the cells count in chromosome aberration assay using 10% and 20% FBS. In addition,the size ofthe chromosomes is being observed using automated Metaphase Finder System.

According to the most recent statistical data, human malignant development is becoming the primary source of the death occurs. The lack of a thorough understanding cancer biology in the modern period is a major impediment to research development, understand the invasion, and to track metastasis of malignant tumours (Wang et al., 2014). Likely to other disease research,oncology research study is reliant on an accurate and representative model framework. Nonetheless, cancer cannot be defined as a single characterized tumour, but rather as a heterogeneous and enormously fluctuating system. That is why selecting the most fitting modelto best depict the given tumour system is one of the most difficult aspects of cancer assessment (Breitenbach and Hoffmann, 2018). Cancer models, whether naturally or artificially induced will have common characteristics with human tumours. In vitro cancer models' inability to simulate the heterogeneity of human cancer cells, their microenvironment, and the stromal compartment has hampered comprehensive understanding of the tumour development, therapeutic responses, and adverse reactions (Voskoglou-Nomikos et al., 2003). Even all cancer models aim to mimic at least some features of human cancer, but in the end, we do nothave a perfect model, yet it should be figured out how to intercept our information within the structure of the limitations of the test used. Hence, the aim of this paper is to show how the development of cancer models can be induced in-vivo.


4 UJIAN MIKROBIOLOGI BAGI SAMPEL RADIOAKTIF Noraisyah Mohd Yusof, Ahmad Adhwa Asyraf Hashim, Nur Syamimi LiyanaBinti Sahabudin dan Rahimah Abdul Rahim ABSTRAK Makmal Kawalan Mutu Mikrobiologi ditubuhkan pada tahun 1982 selari dengan penubuhan Jabatan Isotop di PUSPATI. Pada awal penubuhannya, aktiviti hanya tertumpu kepada ujian kawalan mutu yang menyokong kerja- kerja penyelidikan radioisotop. Setelah penjana Tc-99m dikomersilkan pada tahun 1990, ujian rutin mikrobiologi dijalankan bagi memenuhi keperluan pengesahan kualiti produk penjana Tc-99m yang dihasilkan oleh Jabatan Isotop. Aktiviti makmal diperluaskan skopnya apabila perkhidmatan ujian mikrobiologi ditawarkan kepada pihak luar Nuklear Malaysia, yang dikenali sebagai Pusat Khidmat BIOTEST. Kebanyakan sampel yang diterima pada ketika itu adalah sampel sarung tangan lateks, peranti perubatan serta sampel yang telah menjalani proses sterilisasi menggunakan kemudahan Sinagama. Kini, kebanyakan sampel ujian adalah terdiri dari produk radiofarmaseutikal serta peranti perubatan sahaja. Kertas kerja ini bertujuan untuk menerangkan ujian mikrobiologi bagi sampel radioaktif dalam bidang perubatan (Radiofarmaseutikal). Bagi sampel radioaktif, ujian mikrobiologi yang paling banyak dilaksanakan adalah ujian kesterilan dan ujian endotoksin bakteria.


5 SAMARIUM-153 PROCESSING: COMPROMISING BETWEEN OPTIMUM RADIOTHERAPEUTIC DOSE ANDPROPER ASEPTIC TECHNIQUE Nadhirah Razanah Shahrol, Siti Selina Abdul Hamid, Azahari Kasbollah, Muhammad Abid Mohd Bakri, Zakaria Ibrahim, Muhamad Fakhri Abdul Wahid, Mohd Hafiz Ishak and Wan Firdaus Wan Ishak ABSTRACT Medical Technology Division of Malaysian Nuclear Agency has been involved in radioisotopes production since its early establishment in 1980’s. Among recent radioisotope that has been developed is Samarium-153 (Sm-153) which is utilized for palliative bone pain metastases. European Society of Medical Oncology Clinical Practice Guideline 2018 had listed Sm-153 as one of beneficial therapy for management of cancer pain in adult patients with osteoblastic lesion. Thus, it is of utmostimportance to be produced locally as Malaysia has the capability to produce one using TRIGA researchreactor, making it more accessible and affordable for public. In order to produce a safe and effective Sm-153 product for medical purpose, aseptic technique needsto be well considered during its processing steps. Aseptic technique is a set of practices that aim to minimize the presence of microorganism or unwanted substance in product thus protecting patients from associated harm or infection. Production of Sm-153 involves series of processing steps in order to ensure its safety and effectiveness in labelling with EDTMP and injected to patient. Improvisation in processing steps is made after few productions of Sm-153 being done, such as biosafety cabinet wasused and filtration technique was added to ensure radioisotope Sm-153 that had been obtained is clearfrom particulate contaminants. However, this step would actually reduce radioactivity dose obtained as some would adhere on the filter.


6 KAWALAN MUTU PRODUK SAMARIUM-153 EDTMP Rahimah Abdul Rahim, Muhammad Hanaffi Mohamad Mokhtar, Noraisyah Mohd Yusof, Azahari kasbollah, Siti Selina Abdul Hamid, Wan Hamirul Bahri Wan Kamal, Rosniza Razali, Norhafizah Othman, Muhammad Syazwan Zulkifli and Nuramili Amni Ruber ABSTRAK Kanser adalah penyebab utama kematian di seluruh dunia yang menyumbang kepada 9.6 juta kematian pada tahun 2018 [1]. Sekiranya kanser lambat dikesan dan dirawat, ia akan merebakke organ-organ lain dan akhirnya merebak hingga ke tulang. Samarium-153 (Sm-153) adalah radionuklida yang mengeluarkan zarah beta 0.81MeV (20%), 0.71MeV (30%), dan 0.64MeV (50%) dan foton gamma 103 keV (28%) yang mempunyai jangka hayat selama 46.3 jam [2]. Ethylene Diamine Tetra Methylene Phosphonate (EDTMP) pula merupakan sejenis bahan kimia ligan dalam bentuk kit radiofarmaseutikal yang bertindak sebagai agen pembawa yang akan membawa Sm-153 kepada organ sasaran. Campuran Sm-153 dengan kit EDTMP menghasilkan sebatian kompleks radiofarmaseutikal yang digunakan dalam rawatan paliatif pesakit kanser tulang tahap kronik. Ia membantu melegakan kesakitan dan bisa-bisa pada tulang. Malaysia masih bergantung kepada negara luar bagi pembekalan radioisotop Sm-153 dengan penglibatan kos yang tinggi. Bahagian Teknologi Perubatan telah mengambil langkahpro-aktif dengan menghasilkan produk tempatan iaitu radiosotop Sm-153 melalui penyinaran di Reaktor TRIGA PUSPATI dan EDTMP yang dihasilkan secara teknik aseptik. Melalui penghasilan produk tempatan ini ia dapat memberi manfaat secara menyeluruh kepada rakyat khususnya pesakit kanser dengan penjimatan kos rawatan serta dapat memberi faedah kepadakomuniti perniagaan dan negara dalam pengurangan pengimportan dan juga kebergantungan ubatan dari luar negara. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan bagi memastikan produk Sm-153 EDTMPdihasilkan adalah selamat dan berkesan digunakan kepada pesakit. Setiap produk dilaksanakan ujian kawalan mutu kimia/radiokimia dan mikrobiologi mengikut tatacara pengujian piawaian farmakopia dan Dokumen Teknikal IAEA 1114 [3]. Sehingga kini, kesemua produk yang dihasilkan adalah menetapi spesifikasi yang ditetapkan oleh farmakopia dan sedia untuk digunakan oleh pesakit kanser tulang di Institut Kanser Negara (IKN), Kementerian Kesihatan.


7 CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY FORESIGHT IN MALAYSIAN NUCLEAR AGENCY Fairuz Suzana Mohd Chachuli and Azlinda Aziz ABSTRACT Foresight is an umbrella term for innovative ways to plan strategies, make policies, and come up with solutions that do not predict or forecast the future but instead work with different possible futures (Shevchenko et al., 2017). Foresight has been described as a systematic, collaborative, future-intelligence- gathering, and medium- to long-term vision-building process that aims to help people make decisions now and work together. Foresight helps people develop important skills like cross-impact analysis and synthesis, systems thinking, wind tunnelling and planning for deep and long-term uncertainty (Battistella & De Toni, 2011; GCPSE, 2018; ISDEFE, 2021; UNIDO, 2004). It is based on several skills, such as being aware of possible, probable, and preferred futures, scanning the horizon proactively, being able to sort, sift through, and combine open, real- time, and emerging data, and making tight feedback loops. It involves looking at possible future scenarios and paths, figuring out future risks and opportunities, and practising possible responses in a planned way. This paper discusses the key features and characteristics of technology foresight. This led to the development of a conceptual model framework for technology foresight, which is addressed in this paper. The paper discusses the foresight initiatives in technology and innovation in Malaysia, including the proposed foresight initiatives in the Malaysian Nuclear Agency and the ten-step of technology foresight methodology. The paper also discusses the role of foresight in leveraging technology and innovation revolution that is essential for the economic and social development of the country. The paper concludes with a few key observations about technology foresight and emphasises capturing the benefits of nuclear science technology and innovation using technology foresight.

Tujuan utama jawatankuasa ini ditubuhkan adalah untuk mengetahui status keadaan,kegunaan dan kekerapan penggunaan peralatan saintifik yang dibeli secara sebutharga / tender atau diperolehi daripada bantuan teknikal bagi peralatan yang berhargamelebihi RM 50,000.00. Setiapunit alat berharga diantara RM 201,400.00 hingga RM 3,526,812.70 yang meliputi peralatan penyelidikan dan pengujian, analitikal, penganalisa, fabrikasi / pembuatan dan sebagainya. Asas-asas penilaian berdasarkan kepada Manual Panduan Audit Peralatan Agensi Nuklear Malaysia yang telah dibangunkan oleh ahli JKAP Agensi Nuklear Malaysia terdahulu. Penilaian dibuat dalam 2 kategori iaitu Status Keadaan Peralatan dan Kepenggunaan Peralatan. Status Keadaan Peralatan mengkategorikan peralatan mengikut status seperti Baik dan beroperasi, Baik tetapi tidak digunakan, Kurang baik tetapi beroperasi, Kurang baik dan tidak digunakan, Rosak dan sedang dibaiki, Rosak dan tidak digunakan serta lain-lain. Manakala untuk Kepenggunaan Peralatan, kategori ini menentukan kekerapan penggunaan peralatan bagi tempoh satu tahun. Ia dikategorikan sebagai


9 ‘A’ (Tinggi) untuk bilangan penggunaan sebanyak 100 kali atau lebih dalamsatu tahun (atau melebihi 10 kali sebulan), ‘B’ (Sederhana) bagi bilangan penggunaan antara 50 hingga 99 kali setahun (atau 1 hingga 10 kali setahun), ‘C’ (Rendah) untuk bilangan penggunaan yang kurang 1 hingga 49 kali setahun (atau purata kurang dari 1 kali sebulan) dan ‘D’ (Tidak digunakan) jika tiada penggunaan dalam tempoh setahun maka ia dikelaskan sebagai tidakdigunakan. Kertas kerja ini membentangkan Ringkasan Laporan Audit Peralatan 2022 mengenai status terkini Keadaan Peralatan dan Kekerapan Penggunaan peralatan di Agensi Nuklear Malaysia. Seterusnya, merumuskan dan mengesyorkan cadangan supaya peralatan yang berada di kategori yang kurang digunakan dapat dioptimumkan lagi penggunaannya.


10 PROGRAM PENSIJILAN KESELAMATAN MAKMAL Chai Chee Keong, Sofian Ibrahim, Mohamad Azman Che Mat Isa, John Konsoh Sangau, Manisah Saedon, Roha Tukimin, Mohamad Suhaimi Yahaya, Nurul Wahida Ahmad Khairuddin,Suhaila Hani Ilias, Hasniyati Md Razi, Mohd Noorwadi Mat Lazim, Salmah Moosa, Ros Anita Ramli, Suzilawati Muhd Sarowi, Sarada Idris, Mohd Hanafiah Chik, Siti Madiha Muhammad Amir, Norshafarina Ismail dan Ahmad Adhwa Asyraf Hashim ABSTRAK Jawatankuasa Kecil Audit (JKA) merupakan salah sebuah jawatankuasa kecil di bawah Jawatankuasa Keselamatan, Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar (JKSHE) Agensi Nuklear Malaysia (Nuklear Malaysia) untuk menjamin keselamatan pekerja dan orang awam. Antara tugasan utamaJKA ialah merancang dan melaksanakan audit keselamatan di premis Nuklear Malaysia, dan memantau tindakan pembetulan atau penambahbaikan yang diambil oleh pihak auditee ke atas ketidakpatuhan hasil audit keselamatan. Walau bagaimanapun, berdasarkan rekod, bilangan audit keselamatan yang dapat dijalankan oleh JKA ke atas pelbagai tempat kerja adalah terhad. JKA hanya mampu menjalankan sekitar empat hingga enam audit sahaja setiap tahun. Hal ini kerana JKA kekurangan bilangan ahli dalam menjalankan audit keselamatan tersebut. Berbanding denganjumlah tempat kerja di Nuklear Malaysia yang besar, terutamanya makmal (mengikut rekod tahun2021, terdapat 228 buah makmal di Nuklear Malaysia)1 , bilangan audit ini adalah sangat kurang impaknya ke atas usaha Nuklear Malaysia dalam perlindungan keselamatan pekerja dan orang awam. Untuk meningkatkan liputan dan keberkesanan audit keselamatan, JKA telah membangun dan melaksanakan Program Audit Keselamatan Makmal Secara Kendiri pada tahun 20211 . Program ini juga merupakan penyelesaian JKA untuk mengatasi masalah kesukaran menjalankan audit ketika pandemik COVID-19. Program ini telah mendapat sambutan yang menggalakkan


11 dan JKA telah mengenalpasti beberapa isu dan peluang penambahbaikan terutamanya dalam aspek tahap penglibatan dan komitmen pekerja, integriti dan pelaksanaan tindakan pembetulan. Lantaran itu, JKA telah cuba membangunkan satu sistem pensijilan keselamatan makmal yang menyerupai sistem pensijilan piawaian ISO, yang dinamakan sebagai Program Pensijilan Keselamatan Makmal (PPKM). Secara umumnya, PPKM adalah lanjutan daripada Program Audit KeselamatanMakmal Secara Kendiri, dengan penekanan diberikan untuk meningkatkan tahap komitmen dan keberkesanan pelaksanaan dan pemantauan tindakan pembetulan. Ini bakal dilakukan dengan penglibatan JKSHE sebagai badan pensijilan yang memberikan sijil kepada makmal yang memenuhi tahap pematuhan kriteria keselamatan minimum. Di bawah PPKM, hanya makmal yangmempunyai pensijilan JKSHE sahaja dibenarkan untuk beroperasi seperti biasa. Kertas kerja ini menerang dan membincangkan mekanisme dan pelaksanaan PPKM, dan cabaran yang bakal dihadapi dalam peringkat perlaksanaan di peringkat agensi.


12 IMPLEMENTING GAMIFICATION ELEMENT ON A PORTAL TO CULTIVATE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN NUKLEAR MALAYSIA Mohd Dzul Aiman bin Aslan, Mohamad Safuan bin Sulaiman, Siti Nurbahyah binti Hamdan, Maizura binti Ibrahim, Sufian Norazam bin Mohamed Aris and Nur Fatini binti Abd Ghani ABSTRACT The realm of knowledge management within organizations such as Nuklear Malaysia has undergone a substantial transformation in recent years. As technology continues to advance, institutions are constantly exploring innovative avenues to facilitate the efficient dissemination and absorption of information. In this context, the present paper explores the incorporation of gamification elements in a portal to enhance knowledge management practices within Nuklear Malaysia specifically the integration of gaming elements into the Dasar Keselamatan ICT (DKICT) Portal at Nuklear Malaysia, specifically targeting the IT department as its subject group. Gamification refers to the use of game design principles and mechanics in non-game contexts to engage and motivate users for example: points, badges, leaderboard, rewards, challenges, progress bar, feedback, avatars, social interactions, and missions. The objective of this study is to examine how the integration of gamification can foster sharing and reading behaviors among users, leading to improved knowledge sharing and retention within the organization. By analyzing the effectiveness of gamification in cultivating a knowledge- sharing culture, this paper aims to provide valuable insights and recommendations for implementing gamified knowledge management systems.

14 SPEED VERIFICATION OF CONVEYORS FOR VALIDATION OF AN IRRADIATION PROCESS AT AN ELECTRON BEAM FACILITY Shalina Sheik Muhamad, Ahmad Zainuri Mohd Dzomir, Muhd Izham Ahmad, Mohamad Hakiman Mohamad Yusoff, Azmi Ali, Leo Kwee Wah, Hasan Sham, Ruzalina Baharin, Siti Zulaiha Hairaldin and Ros Anita Ahmad Ramli ABSTRACT Operational Qualification (OQ) is essential for the success of the application of radiation processing.Conscientious attention is given to demonstrate that the irradiator, as installed, is capable of operatingand delivering appropriate doses within defined acceptance criteria. The Operational Qualification must be considered a critical activity for creating baseline data used for a full understanding of the process and relevant parameters, to compare after repairs/maintenance and after facility component replacement. The speed of conveyors used in radiation processing systems is one of the factors influencing absorbed dose and dose distribution to the flat surfaced product such as silicon wafer, facial mask, waste water and food. This work presents an operational qualification for monitoring and validation of the conveyor speed in an irradiation facility. The deviation values obtained help provide the quality control team with the periodic verification activity as consistency is important forOQ. It also helps the maintenance team to better plan for corrective actions such as disassembly andlubrication of the conveyor system. 15 STUDY OF NEUTRON FIELD AROUND MALAYSIAN NUCLEAR AGENCYPLASMA FOCUS (MNA-PF) USING PHITS Puteri Nuraliah Husna Mohd Tajuddin, Mohd Faiz Mohd Zin, Rokiah Mohd Sabri, Abd HalimBaijan, Dr. Leo Kwee Wah, Mohd Azhar Ahmad, Mukhlis Mokhtar, Mohammad Karimi Manawir and Mohd Noor Shafeek Jaafar ABSTRACT The plasma focus device is a device that converts energy from the capacitor into energy that can move the currentsheet and forma plasma (A.B. Blagoev, 2013). The Plasma Focus has been usedin many countries including Britain, Russia, China, Argentina, Singapore, United State, India, Pakistan, and Malaysia (Singh et al., 2022). In Malaysia, MNA-PF consists of a capacitor that is capable of storing energy up to 30µF with rated voltage of 15kV (Zin et al., 2017). Plasma focus devices can be used in many applications, so it is better to understand the fundamental process ofthe plasma. The neutron field has been simulated for a neutron with energy of 2.45 MeV and 14.1 MeV usingPHITS code (Rahmani, 2016). The energies were obtained due to the reaction of Deuterium- Deuterium (D-D) and Deuterium-Tritium (D-T) reaction (Lang et al., 2018). Besides that, electrode geometry plays a big role in determining the neutron production (Akel et al., 2021). Dueto this reason, the effective dose rate from this simulation has been compared to the experiment that has been done before in the Preliminary results of Malaysian Nuclear Agency Plasma Focus (MNA-PF) as a slow focus mode device for deuterium filling gas in correlation with Lee model code (Zin et al., 2017).


16 THE RTP-MS EVOLUTION FROM SHAREFOLDER TO ONLINE-BASED MANAGEMENT: AN ALTERNATIVE DOCUMENT ACCESSIBILITY Mazleha Maskin and Julia Abdul Karim ABSTRACT The increasing intricacy of the TRIGA PUSPATI reactor (RTP) documentation, which consists of procedures, work instructions, technical instructions, forms, and reports, coupled with stringent standards, poses a considerable challenge to the Reactor Technology Center's (PTR) management. Retrieving, and updating documents becomes particularly challenging, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic era, due to the use of shared folders on the local network thatcannot be accessed via the internet at all. Hence, working from home seems not to be workingfor PTR personnel where accessibility of documents is the mainstay especially for auditing purposes. Storing documents in an individual workstation ends up with multiple different versions for each officer (Bergman et al., 2014; Whittaker, 2011), which later increase confusion on whichversion of the file is the most up-to-date. Once updated and all the comments have been incorporated, there may emerge multiple document versions, each containing slight differencesand several repetitive elements resulting from the feedback. However, manually juxtaposing the documents is not an efficient method for identifying discrepancies (Accusoft, 2021). In aneffort to maintain only one document for all PTR staff to work on, Google Drive was used andlinks were shared using email addresses in an effort to control documents only to be shared among involved staffs, as well as upholding safety culture (Erickson, 2006). Unfortunately, despite the humongous benefits, Google Drive does have some disadvantages in terms ofsecurity, as listed by Campaigns of The World (2023) on their website. Thus, instead of selecting Google Drive as a substitute for ShareFolder, the PTR management opted forSharePoint. However, Google Sheets and Google Forms are extensively utilized for


17 data collection and streamlining the process of summarizing data. The aim of this document is to elucidate how PTR leverages SharePoint as an alternative systemfor managing digital documents. This paper specifically delves into the management of operational and maintenance documents within RTP, encompassing the utilization of the existing Nuclear Malaysia SharePoint platform and the local reactor ShareFolder located underNAS3.


18 IDENTIFICATION THE CONVEYOR SPEED OF LOW ENERGY ELECTRON ACCELERATOR Mohammad Karimi Manawir, Muhammad Nursyahmi Haziy Kamarulzaman, Mohd Noor Shafeek Jaafar, Mukhlis Mokhtar, Mohd Azhar Ahmad, Mohd Faiz Mohd Zin, Rokiah Mohd Sabri, Abd Halim Baijan, Leo Kwee Wah and Puteri Nuraliah Husna Mohd Tajuddin ABSTRACT Dose profile of the electron accelerator is an essential parameter which must be determined accurately. Typically, the so-called surface absorbed dose needs to be identified as expressed in Equation [1]. From [1], Whereby, K = Constant parameter dependence of the beam energy I = Beam current [A] S = Conveyor speed [ms-1] For the electron accelerator facility, the surface absorbed dose is measured by the film type dosimeter [i] and UV spectrometer. Therefore, the K-value must be determined according to the beam energy and identified conveyor speed. In this paper, method, experimental setup [ii][iii][iv][v] as shown in Figure1 and identification result of the conveyor speed are discussed.


19 CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF 13MEV CYCLOTRON MAGNET Mohd Azhar Ahmad, Jong-Seo Chai, Mitra Ghergherehchi, Mohd Zaid Hassan, Leo Kwee Wah, Mukhlis Mokhtar, Abd Halim Baijan, Rokiah Mohd Sabri, Mohd Faiz Mohd Zin and Puteri Nuraliah Husna Mohd Tajuddin ABSTRACT A cyclotron is a device that accelerates charged particles with the spiral orbit, and has been continuously developed since it was invented by Ernest O. Lawrence in 1931 [1]. The cyclotron accelerates protons or heavy ions, and the acceleration energy of particles ranges from few MeV to a few GeV. Various types of cyclotrons have been studied according to the acceleration energy, beam current, and particle species. The classical type cyclotron defines as a fixed field magnetic field. Meanwhile, the azimuthal varying field (AVF) cyclotron has a sector focus on the magnetic field. The AVF magnetic field varies by radius depending on the energy of the particle motion. The geometry of the AVF magnet pole consists of wide and narrow gaps characterized as hill and valley, respectively. The basic principle of the cyclotron is the isochronous condition, which is that the centripetal and Lorentz forces should be the same in the cyclotron radius [2]. In this study, the magnet design is based on three-dimensional magnetic field calculation. The purpose of this research is to obtain a design of the cyclotron magnet until the magnetic pole approached the isochronous curve which can be used as a basis for the construction of the 13 MeV proton cyclotron magnet.
