cobham’s REVISITED

The first book was compiled from
photographs taken in and around Cobham
between 1968 and 2006, the lifespan of
Dawson Strange Photography. They
depicted a rural atmosphere full of charm
yet a hive of industry and innovation.
The make up of its population was equally
widespread. Politicians, international sports
stars, merchant bankers and stockbrokers,
entertainment personalities and, no less
important, housewives, painters and
decorators, farmworkers and retail
employees…to name but a few, Cobham
has them all.
Ten years on, the character of the village
has certainly changed, but it is still a diverse
oasis only 20 miles from the heart of London
and at the edge of the Surrey Hills, an area
of outstanding natural beauty.
