The following judges are scheduled to return for the Season 16 Grand Finale on May 14, 2022…

Joey Corsino is a singer/songwriter born and

raised right here in Toronto. He has been performing
since the age of 10 and received vocal and performance
training from former Canadian Idol judge Zack Werner.
In 2014, he was the first place winner the Adult category
of Season 8 of our contest. Along with posting covers
regularly on social media, Joey, an emerging guitarist,
has been spending a lot of time in studio recently writing
and recording new music. He does some of his own pro-
ductions as well as getting together in SCJS Studios with
another of our judges, Anthony Wright.

Nadia Dolce is an award-winning international

singer-songwriter. Originally known for dance-pop &
EDM, she has received national & international airplay
for her various singles including MC Mario’s “El Gitano”
remix. Born and raised in Montreal and of Italian descent,
Nadia is a multi-lingual artist who writes and performs in
English, French, Italian and Spanish. Her proudest accom-
plishments are winning Superfantastico and representing
Canada in the 2017 International singing competition "Il
Canta Giro" in Italy. Nadia continues to teach vocals and
performance, as well as her own success and personal
development program which inspires others to live with
passion.

Patrick Albernaz is a keyboardist/accordionist/ for live performance allow him to seamlessly fit into a

keyboard & accordion for the Portuguese band Starlight.

Mike Sleath

Recently, John had the opportunity to catch up with a former mem-
ber of The SCJS Orchestra, drummer & percussionist Mike Sleath,
when he appeared on “CMC TV Talent with John Santos”. Mike
has also spent more than a few Wednesday evenings seated at the
judges’ panel. Although he has band practice for most of the day
on May 14, Mike has promised that he will join the judges at this
season’s Grand Finale. “Band practice” you ask? Yup, for the past
5 years, Mike has been the full time touring drummer for Shawn
Mendes. Mike, Shawn and the rest of the band are currently pre-
paring for the upcoming “Wonder - The World Tour” which kicks
off on June 27. Pretty cool, eh?

Chantel Nunes was born in Toronto to Brazilian parents. This grade 10 student started singing

Sabrina Barreto was born in Toronto while her mother and father are from Mozambique and Brazil,

respectively. She started singing at age 7. She takes lessons with Laura Cavacece and is in the Regional Arts Program
for voice at her school. She is also learning piano. Besides music, she loves to spend her time drawing, painting, figure
skating, travelling and playing with her cat. She plans to continue writing music and build a vocal career. Her favourite

Ariel Weinreich was born in Toronto but has roots in Israel. He has been singing his whole life

but started getting more serious about it just in the last couple of years. He studies with Gali at the Toronto
Singing Academy. This grade 10 student is also a very serious gymnast who has hopes of being recruited after
high school. Ariel also enjoys playing guitar and video games. One of his goals for the future is to win the
