Music
2019 has been another great year for music at Lake Bolac, with
more participation from students and a day and a half’s teaching
for our dedicated piano teacher, Kris Cheesman. Kris has several
students who performed well in graded exams with the Australian
Music Examinations Board, and her students from both junior
and senior grades are showing their talents.
Our instrumental teacher Ken Avery (guitar, drums, singing)
also has many new and continuing students, with small groups
developing in years 4 and 5-6.
Emily Michell and Ken have been introducing singing to Emily’s
Year 1/2 class. These students performed at school concerts and
at the Bush Nursing Centre to audiences of senior citizens,
where they were warmly received.
The school hosted two successful concerts; as well, singing
groups from year 4 performed at the Bush Nursing Centre
on two occasions.
Next year is looking bright as our talented students continue to
improve skills which will last a lifetime and enrich their lives.
