A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER

Pre-Primary Christmas celebration

All the Months Go Past,
Each is Like a Guest;
December is the Last,
December is the Best.
Each has Lovely Things,
Each One is a Friend.
But December Brings
Christmas at the End!!

Learners of Grade Pre-Nursery
Celebrated the month of December
with a visit to the Church.
Winters are the perfect setting for
fairytales – the nip in the air, the hazy
sunlight, the cozy warmth of a bonfire, a
hot cup of cocoa – all spell Magic!!
Cheering the Magic Spell Lotus Valley
International School, Gurugram
organized ‘A December to Remember’
an event for the learners of Grade Pre –
Nursery and Nursery with their Fathers-
their Real Santa! Together they created
a kaleidoscope of memories with their
Fathers.

The Father-Daughter dances,
Father-Son songs, Magic Tricks,
Jokes and more stole the show. It
was truly a blessed morning with
the whiff of Butter Popcorn,
home- made cakes and the joyful
music of Christmas Carols that
lifted the spirits of one and all. As
we all look for sources of comfort
and warmth on chilly mornings,
children find it in the embrace of
fathers. It was heart- warming to
see fathers travel from near and
far to be with their little ones and
to make it a joyous occasion for
their children. Celebrations
concluded with the visit to the
Church where the learners were
addressed by the nun who briefly
apprised them about Lord Jesus
Christ and the significance of
celebrating Christmas.
It truly was ‘A December to
Remember’

VISIT TO A CHURCH

WORLD RELIGION DAY

World Religion Day promotes
interfaith understanding and harmony
by encouraging believers from
different faiths to acknowledge,
understand and accept the differences
and similarities between the world’s
many religions. Our school also
celebrated this important day on 18th
January, 2019 with a great
enthusiasm. Learners were sensitized
about the role of religion in our lives
and inter faith harmony was
encouraged amongst them. From
narrating different mythological
stories of various religious festivals to
a poster making activity depicting
different religions found across the
world, learners were made conversant
about the greatest religion on Earth -
Humanity. As the learners conversed
about their faith and practices and
learnt about the common teachings of
major religions in India, they inferred
that all the religions impart the same
knowledge; just the approach is
different! This celebration indeed
spread the message of humanity, love
and respect amongst all the learners
and mentors.

REPUBLIC DAY

WORLD RADIO DAY

TV gives everyone an image, but radio gives birth to a million
images in a million brains. - Peggy Nooman

Even after more than eighty

years after the world's first

station was founded, radio is

still considered as one of the

most engaging mediums

which brings people and

communities together. To

commemorate its

importance, World Radio Day

is celebrated each year on

13th February. To apprise our

learners about this important

medium, various activities

were conducted across the

Junior Block. Learners of

Grade I acted as ‘RJ’S of FM

Lotus’. From giving cricket

commentary to providing

traffic updates and from

promoting the Rocksport

Camp to playing songs on

requests, these little RJ’s

surely had a great time!

Learners of Grade II were

encouraged to formulate and

present a ‘self-created

advertisement’ for any

innovative product of their

choice on the radio channel

LVIS.02. Grade III learners, on

the other hand, also had a

great time donning the

mantle of a radio jockey and

presenting their ‘Mann Ki

Baat’ in front of their

classmates.

BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATIONS

INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY

“Language is a road map
of a culture. It tells you
where its people come
from and where they are
going”

International Mother Language Day is
celebrated every year on 21st
February to promote multilingualism
and to make people aware of the
language diversity all across the
world. To make our learners aware of
the beauty of this unity in diversity,
our school celebrated this special day
on Thursday, 21st February 2019. The
significance of different languages was
discussed with the learners, with
special emphasis on how our school
witnesses the diversity in languages
among learners, however, they
continue to remain united with the
language of friendship and
camaraderie. Learners of grade I
celebrated this day by singing songs
and reciting poems pertaining to their
mother language. Learners of grade II
presented few lines on themselves in
their mother language. On the other
hand, Grade 3 learners discussed
about their mother language and also
about the foreign language choices
made for Grade IV, thus, leading to a
brainstorming session on languages
spoken across the world. They also
sang ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ and
wrote about their love for their
mother languages. These activities
greatly encouraged learners to take
pride in their National Language and
show respect towards all regional and
national languages.

MOGLY GURUKUL VALUE EDUCATION CLASSES

One of the most significant forms of
education that we need to teach our
children in today’s time is value education.
At Lotus Valley, these value-based lessons
have been effectively delivered through
various fun- based activities and stories by
the Mogly teachers. These classes helped in
laying a strong foundation by highlighting
the importance of virtues like respect,
uniqueness, loyalty in friendship and trust,
among others. The lessons imparted
throughout the academic year helped the
learners in their holistic development. The
much loved classes concluded with a
recapitulation of all the virtues followed by
certificate distribution to the learners.

SPEECH AND DRAMA

Learning at Lotus valley, is never curtailed to
the textbooks. Speech and Drama classes
instill the skill of articulate expression which
in turn enables the learners to hone their
communication skills-both verbal and non-
verbal. Yearlong sessions augmented
learners’ skills, such as voice modulation,
intonation and dialogue delivery and also
facilitated to open up their minds to
perceive things with different creative
aspects.

FIT KID PROGRAMME

” Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”

The school ensures complete well- being of its learners and works on the motto that
healthy mind resides in a healthy body. In order to achieve this goal, FITKID sessions

us and how to keep them at bay. During such activities, learners were briefed about the
intake of healthy food and micronutrients such as Vitamin D and their importance for
