Intra-School Shark Tank
Lotus Valley International School,
Gurugram hosted the first edition of
Shark Tank on 4th February 2022. This
Intra-School event provided a platform
for the learners to develop commercial
sense and accentuate their business
acumen.
The show was introduced by the young
hosts, Chaitanya Gupta, Dhanishta Kaul
and Yash Verma. The opening ceremony
engaged the audience with the
presentation of some creatively
astounding trailers of the ideas prepared
by the participants.
It was appreciable to see the presence of
members of school alumni as judges
(The Sharks) - Gul Bhatia, a student at
the University of California Los Angeles,
and Krivi Nath, a student at the Narsee
Monjee Institute of Management. Five
budding entrepreneurs of Grades IX & X
put up their best foot forward, all
exhibiting business acumen and
entrepreneurialism in their unique ways.
The sharks put up equally puzzling
questions in front of the participants, but
each participant tackled the questions
with quick thinking and intellect.
The Headmistress, Ms Harvinder Kaur
shared a few words appreciating the
splendid show and acknowledging the
contribution of all those involved in
making it such a great success- the teachers
in charge, Ms Pooja Kohati and Ms Gitika
Arora, the alumni judges, the IT Team and
the enthusiastic participants. Ms Surbhi
Jain, head of the commerce department,
addressed the gathering and congratulated
the learners for their ingenious ideas.
Lastly, the alumni judges announced the
winners of the show as Maansi Singh,
Dishita Maheshwari and Mihikaa Singh
and motivated the audience with their
inspiring words.
With this, the event concluded on a positive
note and we look forward to hosting the
second edition of Shark Tank soon!
On 26th January, 2022, Lotus Valley
International School, Gurugram,
commemorated the 73rd Republic Day
on the virtual platform with great
patriotic fervour, mirth and zest. The
zealous Lotusians demonstrated that
even though the pandemic has confined
them to their homes, it cannot dampen
their patriotic spirit and pride for the
nation. The programme was graced by
the distinguished presence of our revered
Director-Principal Ms Anita Malhotra,
Headmistress (Middle School), Ms
Harvinder Kaur, Headmistress (Primary
School), Ms Ritu Jawa, the senior school
coordinator, Ms Monika Jasrotia,
respected teachers, parents and the
learners.
The programme commenced with the
virtual unfurling of our Indian Flag and
reflection upon the values of courage,
strength, peace, truth, growth and
progress that the tricolour teaches us to
adopt.
As the session unfolded, our Principal,
Ms Anita Malhotra, a Delhi State and
CBSE National Teacher Awardee,
inspired the learners with her
motivational words. She hailed the
power of youth and urged the learners
to assume the role of building up the
nation. Ma’am stressed upon the need to
practice the egalitarian values upheld by
the Indian constitution on personal as
well as societal levels, and the need to
recharge the patriotic feelings and take
upon the duty of safeguarding our
nation.
The presentation was further initiated with
the ‘Vande Bharat’ speech by the Head
Girl, Arushi Banerjee and the Head Boy,
Anirudh Rathod, who paid tribute to the
sacrifices made by the freedom fighters
and visionary founding fathers of our
nation. They emphasized how Republic
Day celebration reaffirms our commitment
to unity in diversity. Their speech infused
the spirit of unity, brotherhood and
patriotism among the audience.

presented an informative and impactful
video that took us on a journey through
Indian history, encapsulating many
lifetimes into mere minutes.
The highlight of the event was the
thought-provoking panel
discussion on Redefining Good
Governance in India. The panel
discussion was moderated by the
President Student Council , Parth
Piyush Prasad and the panel
consisted of Abhie Gupta, Ekus
Singh Khosla, Mahak Dutta,
Manya Dhull, Miheeka Bhasin and
Utkarsh Singh. The discussion
aimed to shed light on a subject
that all of us, as responsible
citizens of our country, should

During the months of November and
December, Spanish, French and German
learners of Grade IX & X did a
comparative analysis between the folk
art/painting/craft of
Spain/France/Germany and Telangana.
They presented it via examples of
paintings, architecture and textile. Bidri
art and craft was the major focus of
Telangana. The research helped the
learners explore and learn about
Telanganan folk art and craft. The
presentations were done in the
respective foreign languages.

Life is a culmination of past, an awareness
of the present, an indication of a future
beyond knowledge; with this deific

foot-tapping and joyous dance moves, once
again beading the learners and teachers in
one rosary as if chanting alike for the
divine blessings…….
Christmas brings cheer and love and we They were asked to showcase

a constructive manner.
“Mash-Up sessions” were conducted in
Vocational Education classes in the
month of January 2022 on 14th January
2022 and 21st January 2022. Learners
learnt from other clubs and worked in
collaboration.
