OLYMPIADS

Olympiad Examinations help
to identify a child’s
capability and real
potential that may help him
survive better in today’s
competitive world. They
don’t only provide a great
exposure to the students at
National and International
platforms, but also bring
out the areas lacking
proficiency. Thus, proper
attention can be given to
the learners to improve in
those areas. With
enthusiastic participation in
Olympiads across all
Primary grades, our
learners have instilled in
themselves the quality of
hard work.

NEWSPAPER IN EDUCATION

Newspaper in Education (NIE) is a programme
started to promote the use of the newspapers as an
educational resource in the classroom. Newspapers
play a crucial role in keeping our learners abreast
with latest happenings around the world and to
inculcate in them an urge to gain knowledge.
Regular reading of the newspapers is undertaken in
classrooms for reinforcement of various academic
concepts, enhancement of language skills and
general knowledge. Using the newspaper also helps
the children bring real world application to the
subjects they learn. Newspapers are truly used as a
dynamic and informative teaching and learning tool.

SCHOLASTIC FEATS…

SCHOLASTIC FEATS

WORK EDUCATION

Lotus Valley International School relentlessly endeavors to provide
opportunities to its young learners to explore and hone their talents.
Work Education Clubs provide learners with one such platform to
deepen their knowledge and develop interpersonal skills. For Grade-I
learners, the clubs are designated to the entire class for one week
where the mentors guide and prepare the learners on important life
skills through a variety of club activities such as public speaking,
performing arts and self-defense among many. The learners of
Grades- II and III get an opportunity to choose the clubs of their
interest wherein they work and learn with their respective mentors
who engage them in stimulating activities to help them learn and
discover their interests.
The unabridged purpose of interspersing these activities in the
Curriculum is to link Education with socially productive work.

CORONATION CEREMONY

“We cannot always build the future
for our youth, but we can build our
youth for the future…”
- Franklin D Roosevelt
As a step to empower and encourage
our young learners, the school organized
the Coronation Ceremony –
Udaan..’Soaring high to reach the sky
‘, to instate the newly elected junior
student council members, from grades
Prep to III, by the school Principal, Ms.
Anita Malhotra and Vice-Principal, Ms.
Ruchi Joshi on Friday, 20th July 2018.
The ceremony commenced with a
stellar performance by the budding
musicians and was followed by a
welcome address by our respected
Principal Ma’am, who stressed upon the
importance of building leaders of
tomorrow, keeping in mind the 3 Cs –

Care, Confidence and Compassion.
She spoke about the values and
attitudes required to become good
human beings and responsible leaders of
the 21st century. The young learners also
presented a short play emphasizing the
importance of endurance following
one’s dream. The young student council
representatives took an oath to uphold
the ethos and the motto of the school,
“honesty, dignity and justice” in high
esteem. It was a sight to behold as the
young contingent marched away to
glory, ready to don the mantle of
responsibility, amidst the thunderous
applause that echoed in the
auditorium. The student-driven
ceremony concluded with a
breathtaking dance performance by
the learners of Grades II and III and a
vote of thanks by the Deputy Head boy
and the Deputy Head girl of the school.

QUINTESSENTIAL ASSEMBLIES

Assemblies form an integral part of the school with the prime
objective to inculcate the spirit of unity and affiliation
amongst the learners. In addition, assemblies also provide a
platform for the learners to showcase their talent. The young
learners of grades II and III enthusiastically presented
assemblies on various themes that depicted strong human
values such as determination, cleanliness, happiness etc.
There were also special assemblies highlighting the vital need
to save the environment or thanking Mothers for their
unconditional love and sacrifice through the celebration of
Mother’s Day. All learners participated with full zest and
vigour before their teachers, parents and peers.

DIGNITY OF LABOUR

A job well done is a job to be proud
of. We try to inculcate in our
learners a respect for all work and
for all workers.
The stepping stone is our
classroom where we teach learners
to clean their desks after their
meals and to fold their mats and
put them back in place.

DANCE DAY

27th April 2018

We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for
fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the DANCERS, and
we create the dreams.” Albert Einsten

expressive form of art i.e. DANCE on the occasion of International Dance Day
celebrated on 27th April 2018 to promote dance as a form of expression and
also to teach learners how to improvise, choreograph and perform. The day
began with our young and energetic dancers welcoming their fellow students
and teachers on the foot-tapping lezium dance followed by a blend of Salsa,
thus bringing the flavour of Internationalism in Dance.

The Junior Foyer

showcased an ensemble of

different dance forms,

that “People reflect each other constantly, but perhaps when they dance,
what they reflect most is that moment of honesty”.

Family is a divine building block of the society. It is where we experience our
biggest trumps and our deepest vulnerability. Family is the first influence on a
child’s life and lay an important and lasting impact on the child’s learning and
development. To treasure, this precious gift LVIS, Gurugram celebrated

memorable, Primary Block invited learners’ family members to join the

their past generation.
