DITORIAL "All know that the drop merges into the ocean; but few know that the ocean merges into the drop." – Sant Kabir All is one and one is all… the essence of our world, this universe, is defined by this oneness- that is balanced on the beautiful symphony of the five elements. Every creature on this planet is joined by the elemental energies of earth, water, fire, air and space. As a famous Yogi once said, “The river which flows in you, also flows in me.” There is an invisible but unbreakable thread that joins all life force on earth and eventually leads us to the same journey. Life is smooth when these elements are aligned as they are meant to be. However, if they are tampered with, this delicate balance, on which the planet is hanging by, gets disrupted and we face chaos. And in their selfish greed, human beings have overused these elements leading to a tear in the fabric of nature and consequently they’ve become harbingers of doom. This rapid descent into destruction has alarmed everyone and efforts are being made to recompense the massive damage, however, reverting has become a near impossible task. As in most problems, the solution lies within the problem itself. We need to reconnect the dots. We must go back to the elements and bond with their energies by finding moments with the elements in nature. We have been lost, but can be found again…simply by reconnecting with the fundamental energies of the Panchtatva. This year’s Udaan is focused on these elements and their connections. We hope you will enjoy reading the stories of possibilities.

A World of Possibilities… Alumni – Speak Life after school marks a significant transition in one's journey. For me, it opened the door to a world filled with endless possibilities and new challenges. It is a time of personal growth, as we navigate the complexities of adult life, forge new friendships, and build lasting relationships. The post-school phase is definitely filled with opportunities for learning, personal development, and the pursuit of dreams. My transition from school life to college life has been exciting as well as daunting. While at one side I was so excited and happy to start a new journey in my life, the college phase, on the other hand I was quite hesitant as it was the first time I would be away from home, living with people I didn't know and adjusting to an entirely unfamiliar environment. But as time has passed, the unfamiliar campus has become a second home; the people a vital part of my daily life. Although it has only been 6 short months since I've come to the campus, I cannot imagine myself being anywhere else. Four years of college life now seem way too short. College is definitely the most exhilarating, intimidating, baffling and enlightening experience one could ever have. And so, one should live it to its fullest and embrace every moment of it, accept change, discover passions, and create a life that is uniquely one's own. Vanshika Yadav Batch of 2022 Pursuing B.Tech from IIT Kanpur Cherish Every Moment… Life after school is an overwhelming combination of uncertainty and unrelenting excitement for all that's to come. Uncertainty, not just about our careers, but about our own selves, the friends we may be leaving behind and the friends we may make, the habits we may leave behind and the many new ones we may develop. There is new exposure, new people to socialize with, new responsibilities, so much newness for students who've been anchored for so long. After school, we're a little more responsible for our decisions. The situation of our future will be determined by the actions we indulge in and the company we choose for ourselves during this period of our lives. One needs to be flexible and adapt to the changes, but at the same time it is important to hold on to one's core values. It is important not lose one self. Good friends make it easier to adapt, as they judge less and you're free to be yourself. Such people let you bloom in life. This phase forces us to get out of our comfort zone and grow. And simultaneously, we need to work hard for our growth. Lastly, one of the primary feelings at the end of school is that time flies. And so, it is of utmost importance that we cherish every moment, every friend and every mentor that comes along our way. Panchtatva, originating from ancient wisdom, embodies the urgent maxim, "There is no Planet B." This resonant concept starkly reminds us that Earth stands as our sole abode, its equilibrium vital for our survival. The five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—that compose Panchtatva constitute the very essence of life. Amid escalating environmental challenges, Panchtatva highlights the interconnectedness of our actions with the planet's well-being. Tanush Garg XI D Sana Singh XII C The Creator and The Destroyer Fire is the Creator, Fire is the Destroyer it holds the power to give us warmth it holds the power to burn the world fire is the spark between two souls fire is the passion for our goal Tame the fire or let it run wild after all, fire is the end and fire is the start Hinduism's core belief, known as Panch Tatva, refers to the five fundamental elements that make up the physical universe, which are: Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Ether or Space (Akash). In varying amounts, these five elements make up both living and non-living things. The Panch Tatva elements are intricately connected to one another and each has distinct qualities and traits of its own. Earth is a symbol of security, substance, and sturdiness. Water is a symbol for fluidity, feelings, and the ability to purify. Fire is a symbol for transformation, energy, and illumination. Space represents the infinite, while Air stands for openness, freedom, and communication. Musings of a Teacher... The five elements – air, water, soil, fire, and earth – underpin our world. Air, rich in oxygen, keeps us breathing. Water nourishes life and ecosystems. Soil supports plants and biodiversity. Fire represents energy and change. Earth, the very ground we stand on, is our foundation. Any imbalance in these five elements would disrupt harmony of our body and would make us fall sick. By considering these natural elements in design would establish a sense of connection with nature, promote sustainable practices, and improve the overall quality of life for everyone today and forever. Manisha Shrivastava Science Faculty The five elemental forces - air, water, soil, fire, and earth - are the pillars of sustainable life. Air provides essential oxygen and regulates climate. Water, often called the elixir of life, nourishes all species and ecosystems. Soil forms the foundation for agriculture and biodiversity. Fire represents energy and transformation. Earth, our very ground, is the substrate for all existence. Together, they create a balanced and sustainable environment vital for human and ecological well-being. The drops flooded back long forgotten memories. There was a time when rain heralded unrestricted fun with 'damn-the-world' childish smiles. Deliberately ‘walking back’ after school, rather than riding the bicycles so that everyone gets drenched to the bones. Any other way would have been such a waste of the weather. Then years rolled by and life hit hard on faces and egos. Rain metamorphosed into one that released the stress, one bore with every breath .It became letting go of the tears that one couldn't shed otherwise, trying to compromise with people and relations. Parent Views... OUR PLANET, OUR RESPONSIBILITY As parents, we carry the immense responsibility of nurturing our children and the very planet they call home. Our world, comprised of the five essential elements known as "Panchtatva" – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether – holds the delicate balance that sustains life as we know it. Each element is vital in creating a harmonious environment for our children to grow and thrive. Our children's future depends on the choices we make today. By nurturing a deep respect for nature and instilling eco-conscious values, we empower the next generation to become stewards of the Earth. Let us teach them the importance of conserving water, reducing waste, of treading lightly on the Earth's resources. By embracing sustainable practices, we honor the intricate balance of Panchtatva, ensuring that clean air fills their lungs, nutritious food graces their tables, and the beauty of nature continues to inspire their hearts. As we protect and nurture our children, we must preserve and promote our planet. Our actions ripple through time, leaving an indelible mark on the world we leave behind for our children. Remember that we are not just parents to our flesh and blood but also caretakers of this remarkable planet, the only home we share. With unwavering love and a deep sense of responsibility, let us pass down the wisdom of Panchtatva, ensuring that our children inherit a world of abundance, beauty, and vital Monika Sachdeva and Yogesh Sachdeva P/o Keshav Sachdeva IX - C Pooja Goel P/o Ahan Goel X - A Environment Preservation The need of the hour is Environment Preservation. By adopting sustainable practices such as recycling, using renewable energy sources, and promoting conservation efforts are some ways we can solve this problem.Naturally contributions must be made by us humans to preserve our environment. Since the environment satisfies all of our demands for food, housing, and air, it is essential to preserve the environment. It is necessary to keep the ecological balance that governs life on Earth as well as the health of all living beings. Pollution, poor environmental regulations, chemicals, greenhouse gases, global warming, ozone depletion, and a long list of other activities are all destructive to the environment, but if we all started making an effort to protect it, it would make a big impact.
