When she goes out of the nest, I start

She gets food for me and doesn’t let any
danger come near.
I know when she is around, there is
nothing to fear.

She teaches me to fly though I am scared
I keep falling down, but I am never
spared.
Till I get confidence, she says she is
there,
I am so happy being a baby birdie in her
care.

She chirps that I am very dear to her,and
she teaches me a bird song
Now I know that I can sing beautifully
and know where I belong
I am proud to be a birdie that can fly high
one day
And handle any problems, that come my

DREAMS… Dhriti Khosla, IV/Banyans

DREAMS ARE LIKE A CHAINED BIRD
HELD DOWN WITH BINDS OF NEGLIGENCE
TAUNTED DAILY BY THE TINKLE OF CHAINS

Made of fantasies and wants
this little tickle starts from a spark
yet it takes not a lot of time for it
to turn it into a blazing fire

no matter how much you try to avoid
yet it takes not a lot of time for you to realize
that fire spreads
and you will burn with it

you might be in the mood for merry
yet it takes not a lot of time for you to question
that are you really?
Realizing the strength of the situation

You indulge in the necessary drudgery and
worry
Shall it be undone it will be a stinging satire
But if it is fulfilled it will be you biggest triumph
Yet it takes not a lot of time for you to realize
That it was a dream just a dream.

My Superhero: My Mom

Mom is the person who gives birth to a child, guides them, works hard to give a better
life to them and help them e a different person. My mom is very good. She takes very
good care of me and helps me in difficult situations. She is perhaps only one of the 100
mothers who are so strong and brave and also encourage their children to talk to them
freely and open their hearts out. It is quite good to see that women are progressing
and achieving many feats of the world. Mothers are perhaps the best example for this
line. They do innumber of tasks at the same time or in simple words you can say that
they do multitasking. They look after their children, cook food for them, help them in
studies and send them to school. Phew!! That is a lot of hard work to be put in. It is not
like a regular job. If you wish to take a day off from office it is ok, but a mom has to
work for the children continuously till they become responsible enough to take care of
themselves. My mom is a very patient woman. She is also very determined and has a
great self esteem. There was a very bad phase in her life in 2007 when she got to know
that one of her kidney had failed. She was in shock and despair when she heard about
it because at that time she was pregnant with me. She would always be thinking how
would I be and can she give birth to me? This thought haunted her every second.
Slowly and gradually, she started gathering courage and she gave birth to me. Later she
had a surgery and now because of her sheer determination, she is fit and fine.
Whenever I think about that time, I always shed tears and think that if I would have
been in her place, would I have given up or fought back and overcome that face? I am
very proud of her and always thank god that there was a hope and a determination
inside her which helped her in giving a ‘Mu Thod Javab’ to the problems she has faced.
I love her the most. If anybody asks me which thing is the dearest to me, then I always
say mom. Because if moms don’t exist than our earth would have been destroyed a
long time ago. She is simply great. I thing she always says is that “Rishu, you are my
life”. I want her to bestow her love on me forever.

Make your own Fantasy

Once upon a time, a girl named Zori went for a walk in the park outside her
society. As she wasn’t paying attention to where she was walking, she fell in a
deep underground hole. She was frightened but to her amazement she
touched a spongy pinkish wall and when she touched the wall, candies started
to fall. She was thrilled and found a striped candy hammer lying nearby. She
started to dig and break the walls. All the candies started to fall and Zori
started playing with the candies. She was in a magical world that was filled
with candies of different flavors, shapes, sizes and colors.

After a while, she saw the world’s largest candy jar and her mouth started
watering. However the jar was empty. She saw few buttons on the jar, and
wondered “what’s the use of these buttons”? The jar read “MAKE YOUR OWN
FANTASY”. She was thrilled and pressed a button on the jar and to her disbelief
letters started popping-out. She was curious why the letters were popping out.
Later after much pondering, she saw on the jar screen, that some information
needs to be filled regarding her fantasy. She filled all the information with the
help of popping letters like topic of the fantasy, toppings, flavor etc. The next
step was to create the topping and flavor of her choice. She easily found lot of
flavors and different filling in different labeled jars. She picked the flavors and
fillings of her choice and made a very soft, juicy gushy mushy candy that would
just melt in your mouth with the help of instructions on the jar. It was indeed a
miracle for her as she made her own candy within a few minutes. She gulped
one of her candies and her face showed an expression like
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. She collected all the candies and wanted to come
out of the hole and share her miraculous experience with her friends, however
she bumped her head and she realized that she was having this beautiful
dream. She just wished if it was true and if not, she and all in kids in the world
should have such wonderful dreams every night.

like they just didn’t care.
Everybody had a confusion,
they thought it was an illusion
This poem has come to a conclusion
the world is upside down and I don’t know the
solution

Sarah’s Interview

Sarah was very excited and nervous. Today
she was having an interview at Joffert and
Jennings. It was her first interview. She got up
at exactly 6:00 a.m. and got ready. She wore
her best dress. The only open position was for
the account executive. And she was pretty
much happy with that till she got employed!
Once she reached, she was called into the
interviewer’s office straight away. The
interviewer’s name was Tim. All the easy
questions were asked first. But then, Tim
asked, “What will you do if we go bankrupt?”.
Sarah was stunned. She thought for a while
and said, “Idea! Idea! Idea! We’ll just invest in
a new bank!” showing a proud look on her
face. Tim knew that she was best suited for
the job. Nobody was ever able to answer this
question even though it was very easy. And
that’s how Sarah got her job.

Why is The Sky So Blue

Once upon a time in the dark jungles of Himalayas, there lived a leopard named
Tigra. He was very clever. One day Tigra thought why this sky is so blue. He thought
he thought and thought. Then one day he saw a gorilla throwing blue paint the air.
Tigra went to him and asked his name. The gorilla replied my name is Gana. Tigra
asked why you are throwing blue paint in the air. Gana replied this is a tradition
from the last 2007 years. On every Monday and Saturday the gorilla family used to
throw blue paint in the air.

So that’s why the sky is blue. But when there were no gorilla the sky was green in
color as the elephant family used to throw green paint in the air. But we defeated
them and made the sky shiny blue. Our paint is no ordinary paint. We mix some
things in it and the things are “water of Lotus River, the dust of shiny magical rocks,
the leave of indigo plants and secret ingredient”. Tigra said OOhh now I know why
the sky is so blue.

ICE CREAM! ICECREAM! WE
ALL SCREAM FOR ICECREAM!

When I was five,

I use to hide my precious ice cream!
I was to get found....
When mommy use to frown!!!
That crunchy cone,
And the chocolate swirl,
When it use to melt,
I loved the smell....
The dripping chocolate!
Oh, how I miss those days!
When, I was five.

IF I WERE A….

If I were a bird , I would fly everywhere
chirp all day loudly here and there
Would splash in the fountains and
Have fun in sun
Would fly back to my nest
And take some rest!!

If I were a fish ,I would swim Irsa Sharma, IV/Acacias
Would go to the bottom and the brim.
I would swim left , I would go right My Mom- My Friend…
As my body would be very light.
I would be colourful and very bright My mom has made me laugh,
Made me cry,
Like the rainbow and the sunlight. Wiped my tears,
Hugged me tight,
Irsa Sharma, IV/Acacias Watched me succeed,
Seen me fail,
Rupanya Kashyap, VI/Godavari Cheered me on,
Kept me going strong,
And drove me crazy.
Moms are a promise from gods,
That you will have a friend forever.

Running, panting, falling, Nevan Roy, 4/Aspens
Faster, breathless, tired, trying.
It, is so close,
A mirage, a past ghost.

Faster, faster
I, can feel it now.
Hot, heavy breaths,
Breathing down my neck,
A rancid smell and an air of death.
I, have reached the cliff
Nowhere to run, nowhere to go.
Should I jump
And end it
Once and
For all.

Stop. I turn around,
I look it in the eye and
Stand my ground.

Huge, terrible…
It seems smaller now.
Shaking, trembling,
Does it fear me...
...How?

As the sun rises,

My demon is but dust and shadows.

“How to find out who picked my BASKETBALL” …. with Artificial
Intelligence

This problem statement has many parts. Let's break this problem into smaller parts
like

1. How to
2. find out
3. who picked
4. my
5. basketball.
Even when you have CCTV camera watching the area where you left your basketball, it
will take lot of effort and time to find the person who has taken the basketball.
Artificial Intelligence helps us in this

1. “How to”: We have to load the video of entire day into the artificial intelligence
engine sitting on our computer and then the computer will show the result. But
how will computer find out ??

2. “Basketball” : Computer will use "object detection algorithm" for basketball size
spherical item to search. But next question is how computer will differentiate
between “others” basketball and “my” basketball.

3. “My” : For this computer uses "colour and pattern based algorithm" to
differentiate.

4. “Find out”: the computer searches the video footage based on “my basketball”
to find the person and time when it was picked. ?

5. “Who Picked” : Once computer finds the time of picking of basket ball, the
computer will find the person using "facial detection and facial recognition
algorithm" to find who took my basketball....
Yeah !! I found out who picked my basketball yesterday .
Thanks to Artificial Intelligence

The Red Striped Tiger

Once upon a time, there was a red striped tiger who lived in
the jungle with his family of three. While all the family
members loved their little “Redsy”, his friends and others in
the jungle made fun of him most of the times. This was
because of Redsy’s color. He was the only tiger with red
stripes. All the others were normal, just like every tiger with
black stripes. Redsy used to feel very bad that everyone
used to tease him. But there was a tigress friend of him who
never ever teased him. Her name was Binny. She was a very
humble, kind, sincere, warm hearted, polite and adorable
tigress. She loved to play with Redsy, specially HIDE & SEEK!
While everybody used to tease and not play with Redsy at
all, Binny wanted to play with Redsy all day long. There was
a small secret they had - a little play cave! They would also
have many out of home tiger days together.

One day they both had an idea. They headed towards the Ruth Kothari, VI/Sutlej
deeper jungle, where their parents had said NOT TO GO.
They walked and walked, until they found a little hut. Inside
their, lived a horrible witch who was a little deaf. Little
Redsy and Binny walked towards the door, which was
slightly open; what they saw inside made them almost fall
with shock! The witch was making a pot full of black magic
which would kill all the little cubs and baby tigers in the
jungle. They quickly decided to head back and warn their
jungle fellows of the danger ahead. The king Lion, when
heard their story decided to take immediate action and
went with a herd of elephants and troop of monkeys to fight
the witch and throw her out forever. After a few days, the
lion returned a winner and the jungle cubs were saved. All
the animals in the jungle thanked Redsy with love and felt
sorry for being rude to him. They decided never to make fun
of him again, learning a big lesson that no one should be
judged on their appearances – what matters is your beauty
of heart!

THE VERY LUCKY COIN

Clara was a meek girl. She never used to speak to people. She had recently
moved to New York. “Mom! I do not like New York. I liked California.” she
wailed. “Darling, you have to learn to make friends, so you do not get bored.
Go downtown, you might have fun. Your cycle is in the garage. Now go and
do not return till tea.” A few minutes later, Clara was cycling through
downtown, looking from shop to shop. As she stopped to get a pastry from a
bakery, she saw a gleaming gold coin fallen on the ground.” Oh, let me show
this to mom, she will be happy. After going a distance, she saw a big park.
There were many children playing. Let me go to the park ”she thought .
When she entered the park, she saw a blonde girl running towards her. “Hi!”
She panted. “Hi!” Clara replied . “Do you want to be my friend. And what is
your name?” asked the girl. “My name is Clara, and yes, I want to be your
friend. What is your name?” asked Clara. “My name is Emma.” replied the
girl. A few minutes later, Emma and Clara were playing happily together. After
an hour, Clara went home and rushed to her mother. “Mother I made a
friend! All because of this coin!” exclaimed Clara. “Oh Clara” laughed her
mother, “this friendship is not because of the coin, it is because you had the
courage to make a friend and I am proud of you!”
MORAL – always believe in yourself and never be shy

My motherland - India

Among the seven continents one is Asia,
In Asia lies my beautiful India,
A land of great diversity,
An emblem of purity and unity.
Himalayas on top, ocean down,
It is Asia crown.

Where each day is a celebration
Prosperity in plenty
