Learning to express emotions in a positive
way helps children to develop the skills to
regulate emotions well and when they
learn to manage their emotions in
childhood it leads to positive attitude and
behaviour later in life.

In this context, Counselling & SEN Dept.
conducted interactive sessions with Grade
IV learners. The sessions empowered
learners with an understanding of the
basic emotions and were apprised with
identifying various positive and negative
emotions. Learners were encouraged to
look at the brighter side of the situation
and given an insight about what is under
their control and what is not.

Most of the learners have been using some of the coping mechanisms like gardening,
journaling, learning new skills, reading which was highlighted throughout the sessions.
