假如我有一支神笔 张文纬 (3B)

科技日新月异，很多超乎我们想象的发明，随时都有可能出现在我们的
生活里。你能想象机器人在马路上跑来跑去吗？多么不可思议呢！

那是一个早上，我在院子里玩球。突然，我不小心跌倒了。当我站起来
时，有一支笔出现在我眼前。我立刻跑去捡起那支笔。这支笔看起来虽然
普通，却在我拿起它在空中画出一支笔时，突然就变成真实的实物。这太
神奇了！

我想起那些可怜的孤儿和老人，于是我就用那支神笔画出很多衣服、金
钱、饮料和食物捐给孤儿院和老人院。然后，我再画出一间间学校捐给那
些偏僻乡下的孩子，能让他们学习更多的知识。

我发现每当我用神笔画出一样东西时，笔就会变短一点。遇到这种情
况，我试图画出多一支神笔来维持它的寿命，但都失败了。

最后，我放弃了所有的努力，我决定画出一棵又一棵树，直到神笔消失
的那一刻。

妈妈的手 傅海绮 (3M)

我的妈妈有一双温暖又厉害的双手。她总是在我身边保护我和照顾着我。

妈妈有一双灵巧的手。不管是什么食材，她的双手都能在一分钟内将它变
成美食。妈妈准备的美食，不但卖相漂亮，而且还营养丰富。我们一家人都
对妈妈的手艺赞不绝口。

妈妈有一双神通广大的手。小时候，我不会写字，妈妈总是耐心的一笔一
划教我写字。那时候，我才发现妈妈写的字优美又端正。

有一天，妈妈教我骑自行车。妈妈耐心地教我，我也专心地聆听。不一会
儿，我就学会了。妈妈要我自己尝试骑自行车，可是我一不小心就跌倒了。
妈妈急忙把我抱起来，在那时候，我就觉得妈妈的手超有力。回家后，妈妈
小心翼翼的处理我的伤口。

妈妈的手是鼓励我进步的源泉。有一天，我参加了讲故事比赛，
我努力地在家练习了好多遍，但一上台我很害怕, 而且还冒冷汗。
这时，我听见台下的妈妈给我掌声，我就觉得不怕了。终于，
我在比赛中获得了奖杯，我很谢谢妈妈给我力量。妈妈，我爱您！

我的妈妈是一位大忙人。她非常能干，总是不停地做事、洗衣、做饭等等。

对于爸爸，我是又爱又怕。他对我和哥哥非常严格，但是他有时候又很搞笑。

哥哥是一位超级暖男。他很关心我们家里的每一位成员。平时都是我在欺负他，
因为我是家里的小公主。

我最爱奶奶了！有什么好吃的，我一定跟奶奶分享。我的奶奶是一位超人。
上周，奶奶很勇敢地去接种第一剂新冠疫苗。她没有哭哦！

这就是我的家，一个充满爱的家。我爱我的家！

Movie Night

I like watching movies. Every Friday
night, my family will sit in front of the
television to watch a movie. We will
drink Coke and eat snacks.

The movie I like the most is “The
Lord of The Rings”. The movie tells the
story about a Hobbit called Frodo and
his friends, Gandalf, Legolas, Aragon,
Gimli, Sam, Merry and Pippin. They were
on a journey to destroy a ring. They
had to travel from Shire to Mordor.
Their enemies were the Orcs, Saruman
ogres and the evil Sauron. Since this
movie is a trilogy, my family and I spent
three weekends watching it. It was very
interesting. I even dreamt about it!

I look forward to next Friday night. I
hope there are more movies like this.

Chocolate Cake in a Cup

Simple recipe, single serving, short time to make

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons (16g) plain flour
2 tablespoons (10g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 to 2 tablespoons (12g to 25g) castor sugar
(adjust your preference of sweetness level accordingly)
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons (45ml) milk 
1 tablespoon (15ml) vegetable oil 
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon (12g) semi-sweet chocolate or dark chocolate chips

度过了平淡的国庆日也结束了漫长三个月居家工作的生活。
九月是开市大吉，同时也是编缉2020/2021《昕苗》的起跑
点，真是好事成双！疫情不再是什么新常态，各司其职，各安其
位，我们都得回到各自岗位，社会才能够开始流动和恢复正常运
作 。 身 为 学 生 的 你 ， 自 律 和 认 真 学 习 的 态 度 就 是 对 自 己 、父 母 和
社会的责任和贡献。

亲爱的同学，你我都是学者，我们的学习对象无处不在，请
不要局限自己创造突破的可能。父母温馨的叮咛常伴耳旁，你听
懂了吗？努力读书不是长大后能让你赚很多钱，而是长大后能够
让你拥有更多的选择权利和机会。只有不自满，学习生涯无止
境，在途径中汲取一点一滴的经历有助于打造出一个具有独立思
考能力的你。请牢记，过程难免多苦涩，收成却是丰盛的。

让我担任《昕苗》编辑项目，再次为学校散播《昕苗》种子。今

Vaccination Day Cheong Jessen (6B)

Last week, the students of SJKC Desa Jaya 2 went to the nurse’s
office to take their vaccine injections. All the pupils were like the cat
on the hot bricks since they were scared of syringes. Each pupil waited
patiently in line for their turn to take the vaccination.

After a while, it was Halley’s turn to get vaccinated. She was like
butterflies in her stomach so the nurse tried to calm her by explaining the
benefits of getting vaccination. The nurse told her that it could prevent
illnesses and viruses from getting into our body and making us unwell.

After Halley heard about the information, she felt relieved. Then,
she let the nurse give her the vaccine injection. After she took the
vaccine, the nurse gave her a sweet for being brave.

A Fire Chew Xin Ern (6M)

It was a lovely sunny day. Exhausted Jimmy was walking home
after a busy school day. On the way home, he saw a house that was
puffing out clouds of smoke. Out of curiosity, he went and checked out
what was happening. When he got closer, he saw specks of red. It was a
fire!

Without hesitation, he quickly called the fire brigade and began
prancing back and forth out of panic. What should he do now? He rapidly
thought of an idea and alerted the neighbours in case the fire breaks out
and lights their house on fire too.

“Waaaaahhhhh”, as fast as lightning, the firefighters came. They
swiftly put out the fire to prevent others from getting hurt. After the
fire was defeated, the firefighters praised Jimmy for his fast-thinking
skills. Jimmy blushed and said it was no big deal.

Donating Old Clothes Ngau Li Ann (6J)

One day, Mira opened her wardrobe and noticed that her wardrobe
was full of old clothes that she barely wore. Some of the old clothes
were too small for her. There was no room for any new clothes.


Mira told her mother that she decided to donate those old clothes
to charity. Her mother liked the idea because this could solve the problem
and help other people at the same time. Soon, both of them started to
pack the old clothes into boxes.

After that, they went to an orphanage and met the director of the
orphanage. The children were on cloud nine when they all saw the clothes.
The director and children thanked Mira and her mother gratefully.

A Snatch Theft Peh Jay Ziex (6H)

It was a sunny day. The sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold
spilling light all over the place. Lynn was walking to the grocery which is
just a stone’s throw away from her house.

Out of the blue, two suspicious men who were riding a motorcycle
snatched Lynn’s handbag. She screamed as loud as thunder when she fell
on the road. A passer-by witnessed what had happened and yelled at
the snatch thieves. The passer-by found Lynn trembling with fear on
the road full of bruises and bleeding heavily on both of her knees and
elbows.


Without any hesitation, the passer-by took Lynn to the hospital.
Lynn thanked him profusely for being a good Samaritan.

Swimming Competition Tan Xuan Hui (5K)

It was a sunny day on 14th December 2019. I participated in the
KDE Swimming Gala 2019 and it was organized by Kelab Darul Ehsan.
I enrolled for the 25 meters freestyle and 25 meters breaststroke
swimming competition.

When I reached the swimming pool, I saw a mascot waving to
me. There was a big crowd waiting for the competition to start. After
every participant arrived, we prepared ourselves by doing warm-ups
and stretches to prevent injuries before the competition starts.

The competition started after the speech by the organizer. I was
nervous and excited too. I swam as fast as I could to the finishing line.
Even though the water was cold, it would not stop my spirit. Everyone
clapped hands and cheered.

I got number seven in freestyle and number eleven in breaststroke.
I did not get a medal, but I got a certificate. I was on cloud nine as it
was a fun and happy occasion. I hope that I can join this swimming
competition in future.

A Snatch Theft Abigail Tan Yi Hua (6H)

One early morning, Miss Jin was walking by the roadside. She was
a stone’s throw away from the market she was heading.


The birds were chirping lovely tunes and the sun was smiling at
her. Out of the blue, a motorcycle dashed by and in a blink of an eye,
the pillion rider snatched Miss Jin’s handbag. She resisted and held on
to it but was dragged by the motorcycle. When she finally let go of her
handbag, she tumbled down and was brutally hurt. There were bruises
on her face. Her elbows and knees were breeding. A passer-by saw her
and immediately called the ambulance.

Within a few minutes, the ambulance arrived and she was rushed
to the hospital. Although she did not manage to get her handbag back,
she was glad that there were only minor injuries. She learnt that she
needed to be more aware of possible danger while walking on the street.

My Best Holiday Lee Xin Ying (5K)

A holiday is a way to relieve stress and we can spend more
time with friends and family. Today I will be sharing with you all my
experience to Hong Kong.

During the mid-term school holiday of 2018, my family and I
visited Hong Kong. Before departure, my father had arranged all the
hotels, transportation and tickets for the attraction spots.


When we arrived at Hong Kong, we went to the hotel to place our
bags and belongings. Later, we went to eat traditional food. The next
day, we took a train to Disneyland, it was boring. When we reached,
I rushed to one of the ice cream stalls to buy a chilly ice lolly as the
weather was flaming hot.

Then, we took a roller coaster down a tunnel into a cave where
we could see many fictional creatures. I was scared and I closed my
eyes most of the time in the cave. Later, I went to take pictures with
my favourite Disney characters. After that, we went to have lunch. We
ordered delicious meals at the restaurant.

The next day, we took a train up a mountain to visit the famous
Madame Tussaudes Museum. There, we saw many wax figures of
famous superstars and cartoon characters all around the world. We
even took pictures with them.

I enjoyed my holidays very much. I hope that when the pandemic
is over, I can go to South Korea to watch my favourite boy band, BTS.

Oh 2019! Lai Yuan Feng (5K)

At the end of each year, some of us will be starting to think about our
resolutions for the upcoming year. When the new year begins, it means starting
fresh and opening new chapters in our lives. It also means we should move
forward and embrace the victories that lie ahead for us. However, something
happened in 2019 which dragged on and on into year 2020, 2021, and maybe
until 2022. In fact, I am referring to Covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has
changed people’s lives forever.

Covid-19 has been affecting me dearly. I miss going to school. I miss the
physical interaction with my friends and teachers. I miss the games we played
during PE classes even the childish hide and seek. What about co-curricular
activities on Saturday mornings? I miss being in the brightly coloured uniform
of the girl scouts. Now my entire school days are featured in a 14-inches
monitor. At times, my friends appeared blurry, and the voice was breaking up.


Certainly, Covid-19 affects my family too. Since my brother attends the
same school as me, we both are at home now. I love my brother dearly, but we
always quarrel over the simplest matters as both of us are forced to spend
more time together in confined space these two years. Apart from that, both
of my parents appear busier than before, and they cannot work from home like
others. Luckily, we have our aunt to keep us company. However, one thing I miss
the most is my grandparents in Muar.

From a wider perspective and broader horizon, Covid-19 brings both
positive and negative changes to the world. Now we know that humans are no
longer dominant species, as we are brought to our knees by Covid-19. Covid-19
helps mother earth by reducing the pollution index. The oceans are cleaner, and
the beaches have lesser plastic litters. A new norm has been introduced into the
lives of working adults, Working From Home (WFH). WFH increases productivity
and cuts costs. It even makes working more flexible as mothers can take care of
their children while interacting with their colleagues or customers. Additionally,
based on WWF (World Wildlife Fund), there are reports on extinct animals have
been spotted in the forest during lockdown period. As for me, I was fortunate
to spot a hornbill resting on my neighbour’s roof!

I believe everything has its pros and cons, like the ancient Chinese belief
in Yin and Yang. Covid-19 is the same. It is changing us for better or worse. The
day will come when we win the war against Covid-19.
