powder coating services.

“There’s a major difference between ap-
plying powder coat to protect a surface and
actually decorating a part so it’s not only
protected, but cosmetically appealing,”
said Jim. “We pride ourselves in the latter
and train employees to focus on the qual-
ity and consistency of their work.”

This is easily recognizable in the ser-
vices provided to Athens through Apex.
Apex provides these very services to many
companies in the outdoor space and has
continued to expand operations to effi-
ciently service increasing demand. Since
its inception, Apex has gone through three
major expansions and is preparing for
its fourth, ensuring it has more than ad-
equate capacity for customers’ needs.

Jim and Tracie explained that they have
made a consciousness decision to tailor
their business to really focus on a custom-
er base within the outdoor space.

“We thought about providing work in
other verticals but that didn’t fit our pas-
sion for the outdoors or our desire to have
an on-going relationship with our cus-
tomer base. We realized that there is a real
need just within the outdoor community
for services and we can use our experience
and passion to focus in this space and pro-
vide excellent services,” said Tracie.

While Apex has grown dramatically
since 2019, it continues to ensure there is
open capacity for more opportunities to
fuel further growth.

On the subject of expansion, 2021 has
offered new opportunities for Athens
Outdoors with the expansion into ar-
chery accessories through Mountain
View Products.

“We are always looking to improve the
sport of archery and the customer experi-
ence, whether that’s in the field or on the
target range,” Jim said. “Leveraging our
engineering, sales and marketing team—
all of whom are active participants in the

archery industry—it was a natural transition to turn
our eyes to making a superior accessory line for all bow
brands.”

Mountain View Products’ first introduction is a low-
profile X-Out limb dampener, which is added standard
across the entire Athens bow lineup. This low-profile
dampener shaves weight and is quite streamlined,
without compromising dampening capabilities. The
highly unique design helps capture vibrations from
all directions. The X-Out limb dampener fits split limb
bows with ¾- to 1-inch limb gaps.

Mountain View Products is also launching its new
quiver lineup at the 2022 ATA Trade Show. Mountain
View Products’ 1-piece and 2-piece quivers are light-
weight designs that capture arrows and move them
close to the riser for superior balance.

“We wanted to create a quiver system that was not
only detachable but also secure and quiet. So we took
a minimalist yet effective approach to the design to
achieve just that,” said Jim.

The 1- and 2-piece quivers feature carbon rods to hold
the hoods, resulting in a lightweight yet stiff design.
The designs are well thought-out, right down to the
unique thumb pad to assist in retrieving the first ar-
row from the quiver, and an insert that wraps around
the outside edge of the hood to prevent accidental noise
when removing or inserting an arrow into the hood.
These quivers will be offered in a variety of colors and
camouflage patterns to match any bow brand or setup.

We asked Tracie what else could be expected from
Mountain View and she had this to say: “While we cer-
tainly can’t share everything we have up our sleeve, one
thing I can say is that we are continually looking to im-
prove on our product offerings and deliver on what the
market is demanding.”

Tracie went on to explain that Apex Manufacturing
will be doing all of the production manufacturing of
Mountain View Products as well, further streamlining
the processes among all of the Athens Outdoors brands.

The entire Athens Outdoors umbrella is focused on
delivering what the customer base is looking for, com-
plimenting that with industry-leading customer service
and leveraging years of knowledge and industry experi-
ence. All of the umbrella companies work together to
provide premium products for dealers and their cus-
tomers, while providing multiple high-end designs to
choose from. This isn’t just good for Athens Outdoors,
it’s good for the archery community as a whole. IA
