Letter from the CEO

Writing this letter brings me back to 1971, more precisely
the day I graduated from the American University of Beirut,
and to the ambition of every young engineer to plant a
seed and watch it grow. We have been in business over
four decades and we started it based on honesty and
integrity. Today, we are a construction company with over
100 employees and 1,000 daily labor force spread all over
Lebanon. Our vision for the next five years is to expand
our contracting services to other countries; we built a
strong name back home and are equipped and ready
to penetrate other markets, as we did in Iraq. We are ISO
certified since 2007 and recently a member of the United
Nations Global Compact initiative.

We are a family business and every employee is part of this
family. We value our human capital and recognize that
our company’s success is based on our team’s ability to
provide consistent quality performance.

We seek to build strategic, long-term relationships with
suppliers that are committed to continuous improvement
in quality and dedicated to competitively pricing their
products and services to us.

History

“EBCO” Engineering & Building Co. was established in 1975,
few months before the start of the Lebanese Civil War. The
company challenged the threats and overcame the risks
backed up by a loyal and motivated staff willing to fight
for survival. As hard and dangerous as it was, it made it
through and now is ranked among the largest contracting
firms in Lebanon.

In 2005, Eng. Jalal Bitar, main founder and owner, has
decided to embark with a new and improved version of
EBCO naming it EBCO (BITAR). With his vision to expand, the
firm is today executing big construction projects, and has
offices and teams spread all over Lebanon.

EBCO (BITAR) conducts major projects with both public
and private sectors. Its portfolio encompasses different
types: residential, commercial, educational, health care,
athletic, cultural, archeological,electro-mechanical,
telecommunication and infrastructure. EBCO (BITAR)’s
in depth experience and engineering expertise in such
a variety of projects highlights its ability to execute any
given project.

Other services provided include preconstruction
services, design, project management and engineering
consultancy. EBCO (BITAR) is now stepping beyond
construction works to offer such complimentary services
to its clients.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Overall project success relies heavily upon the decisions
made at the initial stages. We ensure a good foundation
for the project to deliver client’s objectives from the earli-
est point in the development process. Our pre-construction
services include feasibility studies, site analysis, design stud-
ies and landscaping, permit application, value engineering,
cost control and scheduling, procurement, constructability
reviews and permit application.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Construction projects involve subcontractors and suppliers,

construction management, from handling the big process
and negotiating contracts, materials management and
warehousing, to field administration and maintenance of
operations.

Project Details



VERMELHO

2016

The project comprises the concrete works of a residential and com-
mercial building located in a prime location on Hamra Street in Beirut
City, over an area of 1,115sqm. It consists of a residential section
presented over 16 floors; a commercial section presented over 3 lev-
els: basement 1, ground floor and 1st commercial floor; and 4 under-
ground parking levels over an area of 1,115sqm.

AL RASOUL AL AKRAM

2016

The project comprises the construction and completion of a cultural
and religious teaching center with a total built up area of 12,000sqm,
consisting of 10 floors and 4 basements, including all necessary halls,
classrooms, laboratories, living quarters, etc.

Aramoun-Dahieh-Pins
Commercial- Ashrafieh-Mkalles

220KV UNDERGROUND CABLES WORKS

2016

Subcontract for the civil works from Prysmian Cables et Systems
France of the 220kV underground cables from Aramoun along
Dahieh towards Pins and from Solidere along to Achrafieh towards
Mkalles.

SAIFI 405

2015

The project comprises the construction and completion of a high end
residential building in downtown, beirut. Saifi 405 consists of 5
basements for parking spaces and serivces, ground floor, and 12
floors. Floor 1 to 6 consists of 2 apartments 180 sqm each; floor 7
to 10 consists of 1 apartment, 315 sqm; floor 11 and 12 consists of
a duplex of 433 sqm that nests over down town northern entrance.
The base incorporate a strategically located retail area with ample
ground and mezzanine spaces.

SPEARS 1858

2015

The project comprises the construction and completion of twin
residential towers (A and B) with seperate entrances. Both towers
consist of 4 basements for parking spaces and services, ground
floor, and 14 floors. Tower A consists of simplex apartments, areas
ranging between 118 and 170 sqm. Tower B consists of simplex
apartments, areas ranging between 127, 145, and 229 sqm. The
two towers are capped with two state of the art duplexes 308 m²
and 338 m² with breathtaking views of the Marina and Down Town
Beirut.



LE CHATEAU

2015

The project comprises the construction of a luxurious residential
building in Verdun, Beirut. Le Chateau consists of 4 underground
floors, upper ground, technical floor, seven typical floors with a choice
of apartments between a 202 sqm and 230 sqm , two duplex floors
and the roof with a panoramic view of the sea.

KANTARI RESIDENCE

2015

The project comprises the construction and completion of two blocks
with independent entrances with a total built up area of 16,000sqm. It
combines both luxury and comfort with a touch of modern elegance,
in the heart of Beirut City, just minutes away from Sanayeh Gardens,
Hamra and Downtown.

OSP2 Phase 6

2015

The project comprises the setup and completion of
telecommunications landline phone networks for the areas of Beirut,
Mount Lebanon and South Lebanon.

PK6 CULTURAL CENTER

2014

This project is an extension of the PK5 Cultural Centers project.
It comprises the construction and completion of a cultural center
and facilities, serving the village of Tebnine in South Lebanon.
The project is funded by the “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Saudi
Grant”.

MOUSAYTBEH 4561

2014

The project comprises the construction and completion of a mixed
use commercial center with warehouses, showrooms and offices
with a total built up area of 11,500sqm in Jnah area, Beirut



BLISS TOWER

2014

The project comprises the construction and completion of 7
underground parking floors, 4 retail floors and 20 floors of luxurious
furnished apartments with a built up area of 25,000sqm. Bliss Tower
is located in Bliss street, facing the American University of Beirut-AUB
and situated walking distance from American University of Beirut
Medical Center- AUBMC and Hamra street.

SAIFI 1079

2013

The project comprises the construction and completion of a luxurious
residential building in the very heart of Beirut City, located in Saifi
Village, walking distance from Martyr’s Square with a total built up
area of 7,500sqm.

NEW ZONE

2013

The project comprises the construction and completion of a luxurious
residential building at the heart of Beirut Central District with a total
built up area of 6,000sqm.

building into the head office of Khayat Group. The works included all
necessary strengthening of the soil and the structural elements along
with complete restoration to transform a threatened building into a
state of the art, smart building offices to one of the leading groups in
Lebanon and the Middle East.

The project comprises the setup and completion of
telecommunications landline phone networks for the areas of Beirut,

2012

The project comprises the construction and completion of 3 cultural
centers and facilities, serving the villages of Chakra, Jbaa and Srifa
in South Lebanon. This project is funded by the “Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia – Saudi Grant”.

RECONSTRUCTION OF BEIRUT
SOUTHERN SUBURB

2011

The project comprises the reconstruction and completion of 24
residential buildings with a total built up area of 120,000sqm located
in several areas in Beirut Southern.

UNIFIL PROJECTS

2007-2011

The project comprises the construction and completion of
different residential and office buildings among them the ISS building,
a 2,000sqm office building accommodating the ISS department for
UNIFIL headquarter. Other services provided include infrastructure,
construction services, waste services, security networks and others
for Ghana Army, Italian Base, Cervantes Base and Spanish Battalion.

1986-2011

The project comprises the construction and completion of 12
residential buildings with a total built up area of 20,000sqm for the
residents of Tyr.

SYRIAN EMBASSY

2011

The project comprises the construction and completion of the Syrian
Embassy, along with all necessary offices and housing facilities.

2008

The project comprises the construction and completion of a housing
compound for the fishermen of Tyr, a joint effort between the Church
of Tyre and the Association for the Development of Rural Capacities
For this project, EBCO (BITAR) was awarded the “Honor Award” by
the Boston Society of Architects in 2008.



ISLAMIC CULTURAL CENTER

2007

The project comprises the provision of consultancy services
including supervision and management of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid
Ali Husaini Sistani Islamic center.

JABAL AMEL HOSPITAL

2006

The project comprises the construction and completion of a 500 bed
hospital with its facilities in the city of Tyr over an area of 12,000sqm.

CENTER IVOIR

2006

The project comprises the construction and completion of a
residential and commercial center with a total built up area of
20,000sqm and located on the northern entrance of the city of Tyr.
