2 In today's rapidly evolving world, shaping the future of our children is more challenging than ever. Their aspirations often surpass our expectations, leading to a mismatch between parental hopes and children's plans. It's crucial to bridge this gap by understanding and addressing the aspirations of children in the digital age. As teachers, parents, and school administrators, we must acknowledge that our traditional approaches are becoming outdated. Merely imposing our old beliefs and principles on the young generation is ineffective and counterproductive. We need to adapt to the changing times and circumstances to guide our children effectively. To shape our children's future according to our desires and their expectations, we must first change our mindset. We cannot simply dictate their paths; instead, we must work alongside them, hand in hand. Collaboration and mutual education between generations can serve as a model for positive change. Methods such as commanding, shouting, and physical discipline are ineffective in guiding children in a meaningful way. As aspiring to be good administrators, teachers, and guardians, we must change from within and become role models for our children. I extend my gratitude to all who contributed to the publication of the 'AVS Reflection' Annual E-magazine. To the students, thank you for your creative contributions in articles, poems, stories, essays, book reviews, and journals. I hope to see more of your wonderful creations and active participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. 15 In the annual election that takes every year in the school, I was able to become the school head boy through the support of my lovely brothers, sister and respected teachers. As a leader, I was faced with many responsibilities. I along with the other leaders, have even hosted programs and competitions through the guidance of our teachers. All of these activities have helped me to become a better person since it has improved my communication skill, confidence, management/co-ordination skills, etc. I have also been able to build good relationships with brothers and sisters through the medium of my duties. Being a leader, I have also been able to overcome my weakness as a student and as a person both since, I have to behave properly, study properly, be disciplined, obey teachers, etc. If I want my fellow brothers and sisters to do so, it’s me who needs to start first. So, I am really thankful to my brothers, sisters and more importantly my teachers for giving me such a great opportunity to harness myself. I am writing this article as I wanted to share my experiences after winning the third position in Inter-school competition. I was really scared and nervous for this competition because, I participated for the first time in such inter school competition though it was very scary as I had to speak infront of many audiences in another school. For this competition, I worked very hard and I practiced a lot. I wanted to get a position which would make me and my school happy. After my performance, I was very nervous as many did good but yet I didn’t lose my hope. During the time of prize distribution I was scared a and I became very nervous. But when sir announced my name for taking third position in Nepali Debate competition and was really happy and I felt really nice. My hard work paid off! And my friends, teachers and family were also very happy. Khusbu Baral Class: 7 Pratik Pariyar Class: 9 My experience as the Head Boy
16 I’m writing this article to express my feeling and experiences I got after winning the first position in interschool competition. I have participated in many competitions and won many times but this time it was my first time in Interschool competition. So, I was sort of nervous, scared, excited and I had a lots of thoughts going on my head like what if I forget my line while speaking, what if they make fun of me, and many more. But I didn’t let these thoughts take over me and I believed in my hard work. When it was my turn to perform, I spoke on my topic with concentration and confidence. After, I was done with my topic, I noticed that some of my competitors were staring at me with a surprise look on their face which kind of gave me a hint that I did a good job. As time passed by it was time for prize distribution and when they called my name for the first position in Extempore Speech Competition, I was surprised and I felt like I was jumping over the moon. However, I was really thankful to my friends, senior and teachers for helping me out and I will never forget the amount of support my family provided me. Premshila Chaudhary Class: 7 Dipshikha Karki Class: 7 Hello everyone! I am Dipshika Karki, one of the students of AVS and I feel very lucky to be the student of this school as our school has provided us different opportunities to participate. Our school ensure participation of each student in different ECA and CCA. I also have participated in CCA. So, I would like to share here my experience and effort made. I recently participated in Interschool Quiz Competition. I was able to secure 1st position with my hardwork and dedication. Everyone of us were very nervous but our teachers never made us feel so and kept supporting us. They gave us many Quiz questions and managed to read these. Teachers also revised the classes I missed during preparation which didn’t harm my study plus after participating in Quiz competition I got to know many new things. So, I think we should stay motivated and we can achieve every single success. It wasn’t easy for me to remember every single question but again I thought memorizing would only make me a winner. The thing I learnt after winning competition was ‘Thing may be HARD but never IMPOSSIBLE’. If something is hard it doesn’t mean that we cannot do difficult things instead we can do those things in better ways. And this was my motivation key.
17 In the month of Poush, Shreekul School -a leading school of CF, organized different CCA activities. The CCA activities were oratory and debate including both mediums of Nepali and English. I was selected for the Oratory Competition from my school. And my other friends took part in other different competitions. I and my other friends were taken there with the help of school van. We reached there on time. We registered our name for the competitions. I was shocked and excited to see the building structures of Shreekul School. It was totally managed with a big playground including volleyball court and badminton area. Then, we were offered some tea. We drank it and we were taken to respective halls for the competitions. I was taken to the Oratory-section hall. I was heartly welcomed to participate in the competition. There were a lot of schools with different participants. It was my turn to speak in the mic and I spoke it well. I didn’t think I could speak fluently; hopefully I could. I listened other’s speech too which were fantastic. After some interval of time, we were offered snacks. We then proceeded to the hall for the result. Hopefully, my friends were able to achieve some positions. Then, we returned to our school. If yes, then you must have known about the fun and the memories which we make there On Poush 7th of 2080 B.S., I also went for a picnic from my school with my friends and teachers. That day, I woke up early in the morning, freshened up, got ready and went to the school. At school, I met my friends and then we headed towards our picnic spot, Nallu. There was a very big ground full of grass and a small river nearby. There was also a temple also on top of the hill. Pscyrin Sah Class: 5 We had our breakfast and danced with joy. After some times, we planned to go to the temple and have a short hike. We started walking; our legs started to pain. But in the hike, we sang, talked and had so much fun. In the temple, we couldn’t go in as we were in a very huge number; we drank some water and returned to the spot. After returning, we had some rest. Then, we had our lunch. After that, me and my friends went to the river, opened our shoes and socks and played in the river with so much fun. We also My Good Experience of Picnic Day

Before returning, I picked up three different stones from the river as a memory of that river and the picnic. Then, we took the bus and returned to the school and went back to our home. Overall, my picnic experience was good and now I believe that the amout of Rs. 1000, which was taken by the school for picnic, was worth it. Friendship is as precious as gold but can’t be sold. 24 Muna madan is a folk epic narrating the tragic story of Muna and Madan written in the poetic version in 1935 by the Nepalese poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota. It is one of the most popular works in Nepali literature. Just before his death in 1959, Devkota made his famous statement, “It would be all right if all my works were burned, except for Muna Madan.” It is the most commercially successful Nepali book ever published. It is based on the Jhaurey folk tune. The book describes the life of a man (Madan) who leaves his wife (Muna) and goes to Lhasa to make money. Madan represents all the youths of Nepal who go abroad to earn money to earn their living. The wife of Madan, Muna is the queen of love and sacrifice. She loves her Madan a lot so she is upset as she has to send him to a place, Lahsa, where there are lots of obstacles and risks. But finally, she accepts this challenge and stays in the country with her mother-in-law who is old and weak. While returning home, Madan becomes sick on the way. His friends leave him on the road and come back home saying he has died. Finally, he is rescued by a man who is considered to be of a lower caste in Nepal. That is why it is said that a man is said to be great not by caste or race but by a heart full of love and humanity. When Madan returns to Kathmandu after regaining his health, he discovers that his mother and his beloved wife had already died. Madan comes to realize that money is of no value at that point. The story also shows the life of a poor woman who suffered much without her husband and later dies because of grief.
