57 Lost in the deep thoughts of this cursed world, Lost to compete against other as mystery itself unfolds. Lost in this dark keeps unfulling me down, Lost the way to life, I will surely drown. I lost my will to continue, scares me to death, Let me rest for a while, I am losing my breath. I lost to be a Man, lost as a boy. Don’t think I can, as my memories embroy. Lost my own gesture just to fit in, Pain, suffering, depression holds me from screaming. Asked my self from which moment did I get lost, Embark on the journey to save that moment, how much will it cost. Lost my way into the darkness, dont think I can save those light that I harness. Lost in the fake world I bound to live, having pain motivates my will of kindness I give. Lost my eyes embarking on those mystery, The lost regrets of my past, regrets of my history. It seems it wont be found in this lifetime, Getting lost is like committing a crime. Nobody cares as the feelings are dropped from cold to evil, As the heaven contains angel and this world are full of devil. Pratyush Baruwal Class: 10

59 The widespread outbreak of Covid-19/Coronavirus has led to moving towards online classes by schools, colleges, and coachings. Although these classes are able to lessen the loss of students to some extent, they have risen many other concerns. Online classes are available to a student sitting anywhere in the world. It has saved the time and cost required to reach the school or college and prevented the loss of studies. However, there are some major concerns. One of the biggest problem is that internet connectivity is not proper in many places. So, students are not able to connect to classes. Another big problem is the lack of one to one teaching, due to it, students find it very difficult to ask questions if they have doubt. Also the overuse of electronic devices for studies has resulted in various health issues. At present both teacher and students have adopted this new model of education and are trying to get used to it with each passing day. If we can try to solve the problems related to this model, it will be a big revolution in the coming years. Many tourists plan to spend only a day or two days in Pokhara at the end of their trek. When they leave, they wish they had more time there. So, don’t make this mistake as you can continue the trek for a week. Also grab cultural food to witness the taste of Pokhara, the pride of Nepalese culture and heritages. The Pros and Cons of Online Studies Rehan Raien Class: 8
60 The word, “Mother” itself is a good in listening. Isn’t it? But knew it wasn’t same, for everyone of us. Saw the billions of stars, in the sky but, What about the finite moon? Maybe it’s my prettiest mother on the earth here. She, I mean my mother, would my words, stanzas and etc be enough for her pleasure and love for me? No, it won’t ! I looked into her eyes, then realized. I was not the daughter, she expected to be pretty wise. Moon? May be that’s jealous too, when my mother puts the large smile on her face. Always I wish, the reason behind her happiness, and proudness would be me, But in contrary not smiles but most of the time, the reason behind her tears and sadness is me. (something that’s unplanned) I still remember, how my mother told her friends, that I was the best daughter someone could ever have But see me .... I’m here sitting worthless. Moon and my mom, who’s more prettier? of course both of them but my mom she’s always 100th steps forward. Why ? Because not moon but my mom struggled that hard and sacrificed that further for all of us Yes, moon didn’t and will never. So, yes my mom’s a winner ! Krisha Shrestha Class: 9 M N & My MOTHER
61 It was the day with the bright happy sun shinning brighter than other days. My hands were shaking because it was a big day for me. I was selected for an art competition organized by Kshitiz School with my other three juniors. They were very scared because it was their first time but, I was visiting there for the second time. Unique Maharjan First Trophy Class: 10 During the first attempt I failed to win but, my painting was selected for top 10 best pieces. I wasn’t that well prepared. My legs were shaking while the school van arrived to the competition. I saw multiple artist from different schools. The competition started after few minutes. I was very very nervous. After the announcement of starting of competition, I gathered all my confident and started dragging about “Woman Empowerment” where, I drew the ways to empower the woman. My painting was very unusual or different than that of other artists as I was only one using pen and opac painting colour for my art piece, after an hour a bird pooped in my painting, I was betrayed by the nature at that moment but, I managed it by mixing the poop with yellow colour which made a good skin tone for the woman I was painting. After two and half hour the competition ended. I was sweating because all of my competitors made very good paintings. I was very much nervous for the announcement but, surprisingly I was the winner. I couldn't believe for a moment but, yeah I did it. I won. But, I got sunburned and looked very bad in those pictures. *It was the saddest moment.*
62 I was in grade 5 when I was a half-blue in Taekwondo. It was the last day of my final game. I was very excited and nervous. Some of my friends had already finished their game. I went to see my final opponent along with my friend. When I saw her kicks and moves, I thought she was way better than me but still my friend encouraged me and gave me best wishes. My seniors called me and told me to be ready. I did some warm-up and stretching. I was then ready for the game. All my friends were cheering for me and I got some encouragement. With all my hardwork I was able to win the final game. I felt proud of me. After some of the final games, there was prize distribution so I went outside for some fresh air. At the time of prize distribution, all the players were there. There were total 8 dojang. I got the gold medal and our dojang was able to become 1st. We were very happy. There was an award for a best player girl and a boy. When my name was announced for the best player girl, I was shocked. I was very much happy as everybody congratulated me and gave me best wishes for my upcoming games. My guru and parents were very happy and proud of me. So, this was the best day of my life. 68 It’s the last year to be around friends while creating memories and sharing happiness. We got to experience a lot of feelings this year. We experienced laughters, sorrows, kindness, motivation to move forward and many tensions regarding our career and our future. This year we went to the places that gave us a spirit to lock in and work hard. We went through many victories with smile and we learned a lot through our defeats. We had a best class teacher we could ask for he supported us in every moments, though we were weak he gave us hope that we can become stronger as our willingness wants. He gave us the motive to work hard and move forward. He told one statement that I remember, “Every child is exceptionally talented in their own way they just have to find a way to see it”. We are grateful for him for being our class teacher. In this year we learned to tolerate, to think creatively, be open minded, be respectful, be patience, be kind. I am thankful for all your support and I wish all my friends a better future and success in career development. I hope we all will get the targeted marks. The last year Pratyush Baruwal Class: 10
69 The need for a pen developed as humans discovered papyrus. To write on papyrus, the Egyptians created reed pen. They used hollow tubular marsh grass, especially bamboo as the body of the pen. One end of the tube was sharpened into the shape of a pen’s nib and the tube was filled with writing fluid. The pen would be squeezed to allow the ink to flow out. After centuries of using the reed pen, the quill pen was created in Seville, Spain. The quill pens were made from birds feathers like swans, turkey and geese. The feathers were dried to discard any oils present in them. These pens were durable but they had to be sharpened with a knife frequently. Before the quill, writing used to be in capital letters. But as the quill improved the smoothness and writing speed, more decorative and faster means of writing, including lowercase letters were developed. The quill pen would go on to be used for nearly twelve century. 70 Hishi Maharjan Class: 9 Brain drain, the emigration of highly skilled and educated individuals, has been a persistent challenge for many developing countries, including Nepal. The departure of train professionals, such as doctors, engineers, and researchers, adversely affects the nation’s development process. Nepal, with its limited resources, invests significantly in education and skill development. However, the allure of better opportunities aboard often leads to the migration of its intellectual capital. The loss of those skilled individuals creates a gap in key sectors crucial for development. One major impact is felt in the healthcare services. Similarly, the absence of skilled engineers and scientists “Brain drain and its impact on the development process of our country, Nepal” impedes technological advancements and innovation within the country. Moreover, the economic consequences are profound, as the investment made in educating these professionals does not yield returns within the domestic workforce. The drain also weakens institutions, affecting research and development capabilities. To address brain drain, Nepal needs strategic measures, including creating a conducive environment for professionals to thrive, enhancing job opportunities, and investing in research and development. By retaining its skilled workforce, Nepal can harness their potential for the country’s progress and sustainable development.

74 Yuna Thapa Magar Class: 9 Sports refers to an activity involving physical activity and skill. Sports are an integral part of human life and there is great importance of sports in all spheres of life. There are different and many sports which has their own benefits but I would like to talk about Basketball. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball through the defender’s hoop, while preventing the opposite team from shooting through their own hoop. Basketball Club Playing basketball requires agility, strength, and stamina. You must quickly move and change directions using high intensity, short-duration muscle contractions. As basketball is a fast action game, it helps in keeping us fit by building endurance, muscle strengthening and improving balance. The basketball skills are shown to have positive effect on promoting a healthy body weight and self-esteem. Basketball can help you reach your goals mentally by making you more aware of your surroundings and helping you be alert of staying in shape. As it has many benefits, our school has also kept the Basketball club for students to be physically fit. Basketball has not only kept us fit but also helped us to build our skills, strength and stamina. We meet tons of people and we are able to play with our friends for hours without getting one thought of boredom. The school also has provided us with Basketball coach to learn it properly. Our Basketball coach is Pratik Sunuwar Sir. We are blessed that school has provided us with a coach for our betterment and fitness. Lastly, I would like to thank the School Management to provide us with Basketball club which will help us to build up our skills, strength and stamina.
75 We’ll begin with a box and the plural is boxes, but the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes. One fowl is a goose but two ave called geese, yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find alone mouse or a nest full of mice, yet the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, why shouldn’t plural of pan be called pen? Why ? ENGLISH is a FUNNY language” If I speak of my foot and show you my feet, and I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth? Then one may be that, and three would be those, yet hat in the plural would never be hose, And the plural of cat is cats, not cose. We speak of a brother and also of brethren, but though we say mother, we never say methren. The masculine pronouns are he, his and him, but imagine the feminine: she, shis and shim! There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. And why is that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don’t groce and hammer’s don’t ham? If teachers taught, why not preacher praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? We ship by truck but sent cargo by ship. We have noses that run and feet the smell. 78 Aaryan Thapa Class: 10 Cruisued through 79 and now at 2080. This year has been very different if we just look at how AVS operated before. Right at the beginning of year, the school ties up with an interschool futsal competition, and good news, AVS secures gold. And main thing AVS achieved this year seems to be the past year’s SEE result. Not just good things some disaster also took place. During the time period between Dashain and Tihar on Kartik 22nd were set onto another competition. This time being futsal once again. But may be vengeance had better of us that we couldn't secure gold. And our friend also sacrificed a bit. During the competition he had his arm dislocated, that was totally not a win. Recap of Academic Year 2080 Then after the third terminal exam, AVS took it’s Grade X’s student on tour for five days and four nights. May be the longest we’ve been outside due to school reasons. The most markable day could be Magh 10 for the first time the school organized a joint program for sports’ meet. AVS and Shreekul had the joint program along with parents as the spectators. Long day, countless victories and injuries. Later the day was over. For the first time we could even get to see our parents compete with each other this day. And now’s almost the end of year. The Grade X’s students living their last days in the school and by the time anybody read this may be we will be gone.

82 Dance, the art of precise, expressive and graceful human movement, traditionally, but not necessarily, performed in accord with musical accompainment. Dancing developed as a natural expression of united feeling and action. To many, dance is only an art. In reality, it is much more. Similarly, me and my friends got to know about the dance competition organised by Kshitiz School. We were really excited to get to know about the competition. It was a great chance for us to win the competition and make our teacher and school proud. Our practice for Thakali Dance started from the next day. for which 10 students were selected including me. The practice time was tiring but we gave it our best. The things we had to include was powerful moves expression, eye-contact, etc. but most importantly we had to enjoy what we were doing. We danced with full energy while practicing but there were some mistakes that we had to improvise. We worked really hard and made our dance teacher proud. Finally, after those tiring but exciting practices, the day of the competition appeared. It was Saturday and we got ready with beautiful Thakali dress and ornaments. When we reached there we got excited but I was a little nervous thinking if I messed up, the whole would face the loss. Once the program started, we got to know, our team’s turn was in the second. And finally, when our school’s name was called out and we were feeling nervous but at the same time excited too. As a prop we had the music started playing, there were Naanglos that we had to pick for our dance. But as we were dancing, one of the team members got confused with which Nanglo was to be picked because of that, a naanglo was left on the floor and my teammate’s hand was empty. Even though that happened, we performed giving it all. We danced with energy, expression, eye contact while our dance teacher was motivating us from an audience. We watched other students dancing gracefully. And as the time was knocking for the result, we got very worried knowing the dance was a little messed up. There were different titles won by different schools. We were getting worried as the time was passing by. The announcement of third and fourth position was made and we had almost lost our hope to secure any position. We were stressed and some of us even started crying. But finally when the host announced the second place, we were shocked. It was us, we got the second place. We were so happy. The first place was won by Kshitiz School. They deserved it, as their dance was really good. Even though we got second position, I was really happy and seeing my friends, it made me happy too. I realised that the mistakes are the examples that help us to improve. Even at present, we performed the same dance in International Art Exhibition and even sports meet organized by our school. We learned from our mistakes and it was worth it. A Worth Simran Khadgi Class: 9

He also liked to play with his friends and had a dream of becoming Olympic volleyball player. He used to practice volleyball everyday. Sometimes he used to practice volleyball with his elder brother and sometimes with his friends or his younger sister. Slowly he grew up and his volleyball skill was also reaching it’s peak. Well, truth to be told, Sanzu got interested in volleyball because of his grandfather but when his grandfather died, he promised himself to be a volleyball player. He started working really hard and played as a setter in the team. His teammates were good at volleyball and understandable at the same time. He even got invited for volleyball training in youth camp. He got the opportunity to meet great volleyball players and he even went in volleyball olympic with his teammates. One day, when he was walking to home from supermarket, he got hit by a truck. He was immediately sent to the hospital. His parents were called to hospital and the doctor told them that their son is alive but couldn’t walk anymore. His parents were crying when they heard. Later when Sanzu got to know that he couldn’t walk, he got depressed and he wasn’t eating anything. No one knows how many many nights he cried. 86 Experience At Aadarsh Vidhya Sadan I hope this article finds you well and filled with excitement for the interesting moments that lie ahead. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to dive into the vibrant world of Co-curricular Activities at our beloved AVS School. As I recount my experiences, I find myself being called to stage for debate, brimming with gratitude in a podium. First and foremost, I must express my heartfelt thanks to our school for choosing me to collect experiences and trophy, medal and certificate. From sports to arts, music to debate, there truly is something for everyone. My journey began with a sense of curiosity and a touch of apprehension. Stepping into the first CCA activity with nervousness and excitement. My school helped me and boosted my confidence to talk in front of 100 of peoples. In closing, I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of debate competition. Thank you, Aadarsh Vidhya Sadan, for fostering an environment where students can explore, grow and thrive. 87 My experience in POEM competition “Poem is the clear expression of mixed feelings.” This means poem is a piece of writing in which the expressions of feelings and idea is given intensity by particular of rhythm, and imaginary. Poem can also be defined as the art of crafting concise and impactful language that stirs emotions and expresses the core of the human experience. Last month, I took part in a poem competition organised by Creative Foundation in Bluebird School. I represented our school AVS and total 11 schools participated in the competition. As it was my first participation, I was really excited as well as nervous at the same time. We were given topics to prepare Shristi Shrestha Class: 9
88 and practice. After preparing the poem I practiced it every day diligently. I also recited the poem infront of my family members and friends. In order to improve, I asked for their advice, comments and suggestions. With their help, I was able to improve myself tremendously. On the day of competition, all the participants were sent to different classes there, and students were made to be seated in a single bench. We were asked to write the poem first and then to recite same thing. The majority of participants who recited their poem before me performed very well, which made me little more nervous. When my name was called, I walked up the stage with nervousness. However, I consoled myself saying, “everyone is same here and that no one is different.” But when I faced the audience, I was afraid as never before had I recited poem infront of such a large crowd. I lost my self-confidence but when I was about to give up and leave the stage, I saw my teachers and friends clapping and cheering loudly to encourage me. After that I built up my strength and recited the poem with full feelings and emotions. After presenting my poem, I was very grateful for the applause. Later, it was decided that the result will be announced the next day. I was not sure if I would win or not but I guess the one who was most curious and excited was me. For the result, we were taken to the same school from our school. When they announced the result, I thought I might get second position as so many participants had done it very well but when the second position was announced, I lost all my hope thinking that I didn’t get any position but when they finally announced the first position, I was really shocked and surprised at the same I was on cloud nine. I was awarded a trophy, medal and certificate for the first position which I never expected to get. I am glad to participate in the competition. I had learnt a lot from the experience. I was able to improve my skills. I also learnt how to face the audience bravely and confidentially. I hope to participate in more competitions in future for further improving myself.

Feels like “Is this what I wasn’t.” Always feel insecured. Have headache, pressure of study and so on. And have regret of being teenager. But I think how we take is how it makes different impacts in our life. We used to be so close with our parents but now we show anger to them and shout on them over small things. We feel they don’t love and care about us. Parents are parents, just because of time and situation we can’t be rude on them. Our parents love us same as they used to in past, they do. Is Teenage Life Blessing or a Curse ? !! HuH !! I think its blessing that we are teenagers. If there wasn’t teenage life, we would have been childish and couldn’t move on with our life. I think our teenage life determines our future. If we think positively and take it easy then it is not more than a blessing. But if we just keep on thinking our problem then it is more than a curse. The bitter, the life the more your crave. The older you get The more you fail Realize, what you gain and never you lose the trail. One day, the responsibilities will be on you, Nothing seen will be new. The spirit inside you may cry As the dove of your freedom will fly. The stress may multiply The truth is worse than the lie. But the sun of your story will set, When you finally take your last breathe.

Suddenly, son shouted after seeing the pillars of Lions at the entrance of the temple. “Run dad, or those lions will eat us. Dad consoled him by saying “They are just statues and wont harm us”. Son replied, “If those lion statues won’t harm us then how could statues of God give us blessing.
