FROM OUR PATRON…

“The sides of the mountain sustain life, not the peak. This is
where things grow, experience is gained, and technologies are
mastered. The importance of the peak lies only in the fact that it
defines the sides.”

- A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Every achievement is first an idea. It is the concoction of this idea, zeal,
determination and optimism that brews the cup of success. I extend my
heartfelt congratulations to the learners, teachers and parents at Lotus
Valley International School, Gurgaon, for another triumphant year.

Each New Year brings forth new hopes and resolutions. Gradually, as

the year ages, more often than not, we see this ardour and devotion

begin to dwindle. I salute the vigorous spirit of Lotus Valley family for MS. SHAYAMA CHONA

keeping the lamp burning, undeterred. My sincere congratulations to PADMA SHRI & PADMA

the Principal, Mrs. Anita Malhotra and the entire staff for their BHUSHAN AWARDEE

profound dedication, which has taken the school by leaps and bounds

to the global arena. The various students and teachers’ exchange

programmes undertaken in the last months exhibit the persistent devotion and resolution of this family.

I also take this opportunity to extend my warm welcome to the new learners who are now a part of this
enormous and wonderful family. May you prosper and flourish as you nestle under the wings of an
affectionate Principal.

Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon, is a school for life. It nurtures and caters to every possible aspect
of a learner’s character development. We are proud to produce socially and environmentally responsible
citizens. Through the ‘Barefoot Project’ and ‘Behtar India Campaign’, our learners have displayed their concern
for the society and vowed to contribute and bring about a change in their own capacity. My best wishes for
their fervent ventures.

The satisfaction and gratification I cherish on account of my association with Lotus Valley is beyond
explanation. A dream envisioned has blossomed into a triumphant reality, in such a short time span! My
compliments for all its present and future endeavours.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK...

"Change does not necessarily assure progress, but progress
implacably requires change. Education is essential to

change, for education creates both new wants and the
ability to satisfy them."

Education today is a multi faceted system through which we, at

myriad refracted images of the world, myriad perspectives; and
because we, as a school, have espoused the cause of modern
education, we are able to prepare our children for real world
success. We pursue educational excellence and endorse social,
cultural and cognitive diversity.

The spirit of change is infectious and heart -warming. It has begun

from the events that have happened all over the world and in our MRS. ANITA MALHOTRA
country and has seeped down to touch the lives of individuals.
Education in the 21st century has become very exciting and STATE & CBSE NATIONAL TEACHER
challenging for educators as well as learners. The term ‘learner- AWARDEE

centred’ is now foremost in the minds of the academicians as

they conceptualise, plan and implement new ideas. The teacher student relationship is now more symbiotic

than ever with the idea of teachers as facilitators and students being empowered to read, refer, research and

present their work. In this changing scenario, we are devoted to carrying forward our mission through our

curriculum.

Exclusive faculty at Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon provides the students with their expertise,
experience and insight required to navigate the ever changing landscapes of knowledge and pedagogy. Our

Encouragement

The firm closed down and Robin was out of a job! He had a wife and four children to support. He had to
find money for the rent, the food and other expenses. His electricity was cut for defaulting payment. His
creditors were at the door demanding payment. A medical agency advertised a job for a medical
representative. Robin applied. As a test he was asked to advertise a product through a speech. He went
to the platform and spoke. He soon became eloquent. He was in command of the language and spoke
with conviction. He got the job! A friend asked how he succeeded in spite of so many difficulties and
disadvantages. "Ah! This is how it was. My hungry children, a despairing wife and money problems. They
seemed to say, “Help us! Get the job! Speak convincingly! All these spurred me on........... and I
succeeded! "

You'll stir up the side, when you
Stand and cheer!

Buck up the forward, then spur on
The rear!

Onwards, ne 'er mind the failings
And misses!

Onwards and forward and catch on
The chances!

THAT MARVEL IN MY REACH

When I sit at the shore of the ocean
Looking at the beautiful waves
I love to see the shells, waves leave
With the tiny pearls, ocean’s lovely weave
Isn’t it a delight?
When the soft sand is under my feet on the beach
That marvel in my reach

When the tides grow bigger and bigger
I feel like I am in the kingdom of large fishes
Coming towards me, giving mom like kisses
The most special feeling there,
The cool breeze and the smell

When you are near to the beach MIHIKAA SINGH
It gets cold and then colder V NEEMS
You feel happy and then happier
That is why my favorite spot in the world,
Is near the beach
That marvel in my reach.

TIME, A GOD HIMSELF

What do you think the words- Past , Present ,Future mean? Some might just think that these are ordinary
words .But hasn’t anyone had the curiosity to find the hidden meaning ? Well, I have the answer , Past is
that dark and sorrow chapter of most of the humans today, that weakens them. Its remembrance makes
them lose all their confidence in themselves and makes them feel guilty . Present is that bright sun around
which your whole universe revolves around. It is that God of time , which gives you inner conscience if you
do good deeds and prevents you from spoiling your future. It is that time which gives you the eagerness to
accumulate as many good memories as possible and tries to turn the dark past into a happy one. Now the
most important one ,future . Future is that destiny which you are yet to explore . Future is that success that
might even turn a village boy into a billionaire . Hence, I always tell people “what happened in the past is
the past ,but what you do in the present will decide your true destiny” You know the word ‘Now’generates
so much positive energy. Whatever you do ‘Now’might just give you the pen and paper to write your own
destiny. So listen to me, do not let this golden opportunity go. If you think God will snatch away this
opportunity from you the show him your bright side of right and truth .Then even God himself will give this
right with tears of happiness trickling down his cheeks. Do you know what positive energy prevents you
from doing bad deeds? It’s the inner conscience inside you, do not let that dark side of yours diminish the
inner conscience. You know what is the greatest weapon in the universe? It’s the power of truthfulness,
righteousness and that weapon can only be accessible by the deeds you do in the present.
I hope this article conveys the importance of TIME.

THE LAZY BOY
Once there was a kingdom called Hethle, with no kids! Oh, I forgot except one. His name was James
Barlow. He was lazy and did no work except eating, sleeping and watching T.V. One day, from the ‘World
Sports Council’ came a notice to send a child from each kingdom to run across the continent of Asia. If
they would not send someone, they would remove the kingdom from the Kingdom Council. The message
was also sent to the King of Hethle. James was also sent. But he did not run for 5 hours. So! his mother
came to hit him. He ran for his life! He won, but the judges could not decide whether James ran faster?
James or his mother!
