Message by the Head Team
As a Sixth Form, especially for those of us in Year 13,
this year hasn’t been an ideal year at JPGS. Only being in
school for half the year has been very frustrating, never-
theless, it is the journey that got us here and all our expe-
riences along the way that matter and will live long in our
memories. Many of us have been together since the be-
ginning of Prep School when we embarked on this jour-
ney together. From chocolate factory trips in our earlier
Prep years to a recent Sixth Form movie night, social and
desert trip which was sadly our last social event together,
where we played volleyball, went duning and finished
the evening off with a barbeque. As we write this message
we hope that we will have the opportunity to return to
school before the end of the year to say a proper goodbye
to all of our friends and teachers. You can be sure that in
the best tradition of JPGS we will be regular visitors to
the school during our university vacations – so we’ll be
seeing you around!

JPGS School Council
At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School we are proud to have
pupil representatives from each class in the Prep school
and each tutor group in the Grammar School. The School
Council is in place so that pupils have a voice and are in-
volved in the decisions about the school that affect them.
Through the School Council all pupils have the opportu-
nity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions
that involve all of their classmates in reaching a democrat-
ic solution. Pupils at JPGS know that this is their school
and their thoughts and ideas matter.
We have had separate Grammar and Prep phase School
Council Meetings which have been proceeded with a joint
School Council Meeting. In the section meetings, pupils
shared pressing issues and idea from their tutor group
or class they represent. Proposals are made to the School
Management and actioned. Actioned Items are...
• Cafeteria menu have more variety and there are
healthier for fast food options
• Jubilee Area - Pupils have their lunch in this area.
• More bins have been added and extra benches have
been ordered to increase seating capacity
• More games and puzzles in the prep playground
• School Lockers now in the Grammar School
• Movie Night for KS4 and disco planned for KS3
• Cancer Awareness Day and raising funds for the Can-

Wellbeing Ambassadors are role models within our school who are
keen to promote our shared values of: respect, kindness, do the
right thing and set high standards. They have been selected because
they really care about the wellbeing of the children in our school,
treating others how they want to be treated and believe listening to
one another is extremely important. Wellbeing Ambassadors work
with the staff and the children across the school supporting, help-
ing and leading others. They take on specific roles across each term.
In the Grammar School the Wellbeing Ambassadors have com-
pleted certified anti bullying training online from the Anti Bullying Abdulelah Alsini Omar Abdelraheem
Alliance (www.anti-bullyingallaince.org.uk). This is yet another Year 12 Year 13
leadership opportunity we offer our pupils. Children tend to prefer
to speak to older peers when they have difficulties in school. Our
School Counsellor mentors the ambassadors.
The duties of the Wellbeing Ambassador are:
• Raise awareness of Bullying ( PHSE and Anti Bullying Week)
• Support victims of bullying and report them to Mr Shahzad
• Monitors during 1 break a week, looking out for pupils sat on their own or
struggling to fit in
• Provide a drop-in service at breaks (This will be located in the library)

What a lovely year we have been through together and
what a special bunch you are. Our time together is done
now, and sadly its time to say goodbye!
This year we have been very busy in our learning through
play! We sang, we read, we danced. We learnt all about
numbers and sounds, all about me and all about the dif-
ferent animals. We explored with colours and went out
for hunts.
We had lots of fun playing in the water and sand tray.
And had a blast discovering new messy activities. Always
remember that you are all very special. It was a true joy

F2A have had a super exciting year! Every single term
has been magical! We covered the topics: All about me,
Healthy Living, Animals (we learnt facts about farm ani-
mals, jungle animals and animals that live under the sea)
and Fairy Tales from a land far far away.
As part of our learning we visited Andalusia Clinic where
made a healthy snack, decorated our mugs and even
made gloop! We had so much fun! In term 2, we went
to Trio Ranch. We learnt so much about horses-we even
went horse riding! We were so brave! Our learning in our
classrooms has been really hands-on and so much fun. We
wrote letters and made shapes using shaving foam, inves-
tigated what happens to orbies when we add water, we
had a D-Day Dish party where a friendly dinosaur came
to visit and so much more! We have had such an exciting
year in F2A. Now, we are ready to face the challenges in

and read. We can apply this knowledge to our writing,
which our teacher says is amazing!
We’ve had a wonderful year in Reception Class C!

A fantastic class of real life superheroes. Caring, kind,
inquisitive and so resilient! Every day we were together
was filled with fun and laughter and when we were not
together we still connected to share that fun and laugh-
ter virtually. We started the year as pirates, then learnt
all about the desert and then our imaginations took us to
London to see all the sights.
We made our own Pudding Lane and even our own Fire
of JPGS Pudding Lane. As we learnt about superheroes,
we had to become superheroes ourselves and our teacher
is so proud of just how much we’ve learnt!

1B this Year...
What a remarkable year this has been but sadly, it is
time to say our goodbyes as our year has come to end.
I’ve made many valued memories. I’ve watched you all
grow and change and it fills my heart with joy! I hope
you won’t forget the fun you had while being explorers
in London and the desert, being scientists, pirates, read-
ers, writers, artists and expert mathematicians. As your
teacher I hope all the things we have learnt together have
helped you enormously. Quarantine has ended this year
early nonetheless you guys have been the bravest super-
heroes battling the learning challenges through this vir-
tual learning. I have great and high expectations for this
magnificent class next year. Always remember ‘’A person
who never made a mistake never tried anything new’’.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a teacher has
been watching you all grow over the course of the year.
You all have blossomed into young scholars and I am
proud of you all. Letters and sounds soon became words
that invited you into the world of reading and writing,
giving you strong voices to express yourselves. You grew
as individuals too, exploring your independence and
what it means to be a kind and caring student, classmate
and friend. You were scientists, mathematicians, authors,
cooks, dancers, actors, pirates, superheroes, firefighters
and much more. We did all of that with big wide smiles
on our faces. I wish we were able to finish the year to-
gether but you still managed to shine during these un-
precedented times through our virtual learning. Thank
you for making my life so much brighter! I was so lucky
to have been your teacher.

2A this Year...
It has been an interesting year and a year which many of
us will never forget! We have been observing a variety
of rocks using magnifying glass. We were looking at the
colour, texture and shape of the rocks. Mr Khanani came
to our classroom to share a story with us. We have been
inviting parents to come and read to us for ‘Come and
Share a story’ every Monday’s!
This year, we had to learn virtually and I am proud of how
you and your parents adapted to this experience. You con-
tinued to learn in the most extraordinary circumstances!
You read, acted, listened and brought school life into your
homes! This could not have been possible without your
parents, guiding and supporting you. You have all truly
been remarkable and I will cherish the term and a half I
had with you as I really missed teaching you face to face.
I wish you all the very best for Year 3.

What a wonderful year we have had 2B! You have truly
made this a year to remember. We have embarked on an
amazing journey with our whacky science experiments,
melting chocolate tests, immersing ourselves into the
world of Roald Dahl, practising our fun filled assemblies,
singing to merry tunes, travelling back in time to battle
with brave knights, parading around the school, build-
ing dark dens, creating shadows and so much more! You
have all made fantastic progress this year and although
you have had your ups and downs with your friends, you
have always helped each other out. You have been my
first class at JPGS and you have each made me so proud
to be your teacher this year. Remember all the fun we had
and all the things we did but most of all remember you’re
all very special kids!

We have had a very busy year in 2C filled with Roald
Dahl’s storybooks, melting chocolate experiments, times
tables games, spelling races, rainforest research, class dojo
points, brain breaks, silly rhyming poems, a visit to the
planetarium, secret handshakes, high fives, flossing and
laughter.
You have all made so much progress this year and you
have helped each other along on your learning journeys.
I am so proud of each and every one of you and I hope
you will never forget that mistakes are proof that you are

3A this Year...
In Class 3A we learnt about the Vikings and about how
they used to live and the foods they would eat. Pupils en-
joyed dressing up in Viking costumes that we intricately
designed and stitched up by some of the talented Mums.
We had a visit to Valley Farm where pupils saw livestock.
Those who dared got close to a yellow Python and han-
dled Turtles too. We also had the opportunity to dress up
and celebrate the local Arabic culture for Saudi National
Day. We learnt about online E-safety and what infor-
mation we should and should not share on the internet.
Learning does not only take place in the classroom but
learning continues after school also and we are proud our
pupils engaged in and made the most of our after school
Enrichment clubs.

Unprecedented, Uncertain and Challenging! That’s how I
would like to summarise the latter part of this academic
year in school. It seems like yesterday when we started
the year enthusiastically, all of us set to learn and change.
Each one of you made a concerted effort to unlock your
potential and be the best.
We have some fond memories of a delightful trip to the
Valley Farm; dressing up as Vikings; engaging in fun ac-
tivities during Science lessons and always being happy
and positive. In the difficult times of school closure, we
carried on through virtual learning, which is truly incred-
ible. Now, it’s time to celebrate all our achievements and
enjoy a COOL and well-deserved summer break!

3C this Year...
TWENTY PLENTY Year 3C
As the year BEGAN,
We so excitedly ran and SANG.
Learning poems and number SONGS.
We learned about the VIKINGS,
And how to draw OURSELVES,
Looking ever so STRIKING.
We learned to type in I.C.T.
And to build our muscles in P.E.
THEN THE LOCKDOWN CAME!
And things would never be the SAME.
And Mrs Courtney said ……
I will teach you in a ROOM.
I will teach you now, on ZOOM.
I will teach you in a HOUSE.
I will teach you with my MOUSE.
Internet will take you HERE and THERE.
And we will SHARE,
Because we CARE! Mrs Anne Courtney
