Christmas and New Year Celebration

Students of class VII organized a special assembly on December 24th , 2016 on the occasion of Christmas and New Year. They
sang lovely Christmas carols. Then came Santa Claus with a bag full of gifts, thus spreading a feeling of grace and joy in all our hearts.

Mythology conversing on technological strides with people of modern era. Junior school students spoke about different land forms like
Mountains, Plateaus, Desert, Islands, and Plains. The program ended with useful information given by the students of class V regarding United
Nations Organizations and its working towards the betterment of humanity.

Fortnight

Hindi Fortnight was observed in our school from April 30th-May 15th, 2016. The celebration displayed the rich vocabulary and reach of this
ancient language through songs, poems, plays and speeches. The function revolved around the fact that Hindi plays an instrumental role in
keeping the nation alive and united, since it provides people from diverse backgrounds, a shared link in the form of a common language.

The evolution of Hindi since its origin, current advancements, classical works in it and the showcasing of the creations of some great
legendaries from the Hindi literature such as Mirabai, Kabirdas, Premchand and others were some of the highlights of the celebration.

It is a mixed feeling: a feeling of excruciating pain when we think that it won't be possible any more to experience school life at Shiv
Vani again and also a feeling of anxiety anticipating our future and also excitement about the unexplored future avenues. It seems as if I'm
leaving a part of my life amidst the corridors and classrooms of these big red buildings. It is not possible to express a beautiful sojourn of ten

MY SCHOOL
It happened on a one dark cold night. I had just finished my reading of this wonderful story, “The Little Alien.”
I closed my eyes and soon drifted away to a comfortable sleep. I slept soundly till I was woken up by the
touch of a cold hand on my forehead. By that time it was raining heavily . In the intermittent lightening, I saw
a dark figure with limpid eyes. It extended a hand towards me and I got up from my bed. We walked out of
my home in silence hand in hand. I was too scared to speak or look at it. We walked towards the park. By this
time I understood that the creature with whom I was holding hands was an alien, may be a friendly little
alien. As soon as I and my companion reached the park, I saw a huge flying saucer like object parked in the
middle. It had very bright lights and a huge door. With a deafening noise, the door opened. We walked into
it. The door closed behind me. Soon, the flying saucer soared high into the sky. We flew high over cities and
villages, mountains and forests and oceans and rivers. We were about to fly higher and reach the moon,
when suddenly I felt another pair of cold hand on my forehead. I turned my head to find my mother standing
just behind me. My jaws dropped. “How come she got into this alien ship? Why is she looking so angry?” I
couldn't understand at first but soon I could make out what she wanted to say. She is saying, “Get up Kartik,
You are so very late for school. Aren't you going today? Today is your Science exam.”

So my friends, do tell me one thing. Did I dream?
