INVESTITURE CEREMONY AND
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
August 15th, the day India gained independence from the British rule, is a day to be cherished by all Indians. To express the feeling of unity
and patriotic fervour the students of class XI organized a special assembly to commemorate the day. Keeping up with the tradition, the program
started with the hoisting of the national flag by our school principal followed by the national anthem. The parade by school NCC cadets along with the
performance of school band elevated the patriotic spirit of the day. India's unity in diversity was also depicted by the group songs and dance
performance that charged up the atmosphere with a true nationalistic feeling.

Diwali Celebration
The festival of Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the
students of class X on October 28, 2016.
A special assembly was conducted by class X on the occasion of the
festival of lights - Diwali. The objective of the assembly was to make the
students aware of this festival - why and how it is celebrated. The function
started with a short speech narrating the story behind the festival.
The mood of festivity was set by a group song that invoked the
blessings of Lord Ganesh, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ram. An inspiring skit
was presented on a few chapters from the epic Ramayana. A powerful message
of dire consequences of adding to the pollution of the environment by bursting
crackers was brilliantly staged as well. The students took a pledge to have a
pollution free and eco-friendly Diwali and plant trees for the future generation.
A charismatic dance performance was an added attraction of the day.

NCC Unity & Discipline- Motto of NCC Cadets 21 June 2017 (Yoga Day)
With the aim of instilling confidence, discipline, comradeship and train the students to
be worthy citizens and future leaders, the school started the NCC (National Cadet Corps)
training for boys and girls as a part of the schools activities. It helps in grooming the cadets into
disciplined individuals. The cadets are given basic training in school and annual camps. Every
year the girl cadets participate in a 10 days CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp). 500 girl
cadets from different schools and colleges participate in this camp. Training schedule
includes weapon training (0.22 rifle), Drill, Field and battle craft, Map reading, Tent pitching
etc. In weapon training the cadets are taken to the authorized firing area which is supervised
by the PI staff, Officers and ANOs of the particular Unit. During firing, cadets are given 10 to 15
rounds to fire and they are judged on how well they can aim at their targets. During camps the
cadets are involved in games, physical training and cultural activities. Various competitions
are also conducted and the trophies are presented by the Commanding Officer during the
closing ceremony.
Our girls cadets participated in CATC from June13, 2017 to June22, 2017 at Garrison
Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt. It also included Yoga session on Yoga Day (21 June). The cadets
from our School participated with full enthusiasm on the Yoga Day session held from June18
to June 21, 2017 at Army Public School, Delhi Cantt. It was organized by the Bhartiya Yog
Sansthan .
The second CATC was held in the NCC Unit, Safdarjung Enclave for 10 days from
October 21, 2017 to October 30, 2017. Cadets from Shiv Vani won laurels by getting first
position for Group Song and third position for Drill competition.
The camp is always a memorable learning experience for the cadets.

“Positive anything is better than negative nothing.” Shivalik House
Quality effort is an amazing tool which can enable anyone to achieve a fulfilling and successful life. The moments that we have
worked hard and tirelessly are those moments that we always cherish. Still, the trials are an inevitable part of any tough journey till the
destination is reached. I was excited to become the in charge of Shivalik House which was certainly a wonderful opportunity where I could
make a positive difference by becoming a leader and also a guide. We, the Shivalik House members worked as a team, enjoyed each and
every moment, worked long and hard and stood together. We learned a lot and refined ourselves in this journey. For us, every moment was an
opportunity to add a little more value to our journey.

Nilgiri House
It was the day of August 14, 2016 when I was appointed as the In charge of Nilgiri House. This day brought with it many new hopes, challenges,
joys and definitely new obligations and responsibilities. Being the In charge of Nilgiri house, I had to shoulder the responsibility to enhance
the talent of my house students to the best of my abilities. Although we could not achieve success in all events, we faced the challenges with
determination and we won the overall trophy for the cultural competitions thus proving the dictum,“When spirit is high and ambition is set
then sky is the limit.

Vindhyachal House
It has been a proud and beautiful journey for me as the In-charge of Vindhyachal house. I wish to extend my heartiest appreciation to all
house members, whose sincere involvement and enthusiasm bought many glories to our house.
To list a few achievements, our house bagged first position in March Past during Annual Sports Day and won many rounds of applause from
the audience along with a special mention from the chief guest of the ceremony. We won second position in the Best House Display Board
Trophy. No doubt our journey was hectic but it taught us many valuable lessons. Sometimes we lost the way but we learnt to steer back with
zeal and spirit. We tried our level best. No matter, we won or lost, we always maintained an optimistic attitude.
