GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

San Ignacio de Recalde School is an educational institution
created to provide a solid education to students in all
academic areas.

We recognize that education, to
meet successfully the challenges will
your children, should be based on
principles and values that raise the
level of their actions. Also, the speed
of knowledge creation and
globalization make it necessary to
prepare them to face high levels of global competitiveness.
Therefore, we worry that our students reflect a certain
personality formed in strong values, capable of developing
skills and business skills with an international standard.

Our educational institution renews its commitment to
continue providing the best education in an environment
designed and implemented so that their children can receive
first class training with an open mind to the modern world,
caring, and responsible for their actions, assuming their
responsibilities freely , tracing his own life project, with the
support and active participation of parents and teachers.

Elvira Arbulú of Farje
General Superintendent
Colegio San Ignacio de Recalde

History of the School

San Ignacio de Recalde School was opened in the facilities of
the San Ignacio de Loyola Academy and it unusually started
operations with high school level in 1990. The following year,
Colegio María Reina, located opposite SIR building, was
rented and a complete elementary school was opened. It
means that in just two years, the school was ready to offer
from kindergarten to complete high school education.
Years later, San Ignacio de Loyola Organization decided to
have its own infrastructure. For this purpose, some land was
bought and so the facilities for San Ignacio de Recalde Pre
School were built in Miraflores. The next step was to buy an
old factory in San Borja in order to build the modern
infrastructure of San Ignacio de Recalde School.
Having just one modern infrastructure was not enough for
the OSIL, green areas were also required. So OSIL decided to
buy 23,000 m2 of land in Huachipa and turned it into a
school farm, a natural centre with recreational areas, where
students go once a week.
Nowadays, San Ignacio de Recalde School has won great
prestige in the field of education. This can be seen in
students’ important achievements and successful graduates
that currently study at prestigious universities in the country.

An unexpected movie night

It was almost midnight, after watching a movie, we
were about to leave, but I wanted to go the bathroom
to wash my hands. I didn’t realize it took a lot of time,
because when I finished, nobody was there! And, I
noticed that the lights were off, and the doors were
closed. Did I take too much time inside? I wondered.

I quickly found out that my friend Katie was also
trapped inside. Though I was relieved, we were still
scared. When we were trying to find our way out, Katie
heard a noise from inside.

“Great”, I thought, a thief was with us. Hopefully,
it was the clerk who was cleaning the theatres; he
guided us out of the cinema. We were very glad that
everything was over!

On our way home, we were so hungry that we
went to a restaurant to eat something. Katie told me to
go the bathroom and I said “No, not any more for
today”, recalling all the previous events in my mind.

The LCD TV
The LCD TV was created out of a very old and
bulky apparatus that had a fuzzy and small
image. John Logier Baird is best known for
inventing a mechanical television system
during the 1920´s. Baird patented the idea of
using a series of transparent tubes to transmit
images for his invention. Baird´s 30 line
images were the first demonstration of
television by reflecting light rather than back
lit silhouettes.
The good things about this invention are that
it is fun. You can learn interesting things,
watch cartoons or your favorite programs.
The negative things are that it consumes a lot
of energy and that there are programs not
suitable for children.

The Internet

The Internet is very useful for
people around the world, but it has
some negative effects as well. The
negative effects are: Violence,
pornography, it is damaging to the
eyesight and people could become
addicted to it.

On the other hand, the internet has
some positive effects too and they
are: You can find information easily;
you can play all sorts of games,
watch videos, and communicate
with other people far away.

My friends and I

I like to be with my friends Pamela, Maria Fe,
Gilan, Gabriela, Luisiana and Sofia. We like to be
together at school. We like to play together at
recess. We like “Monster High”. We have some
differences. I like to run but Gabriela and Sofia
don’t, Maria Fe likes to play on the green grass but
Luisiana doesn’t, Gilan likes to buy things at the
cafeteria but Pamela doesn’t. But we are still good
friends.

THE “HISTORIUM MEMORIUM” DIGITAL SYSTEM
I would like to invent the Historium Memorium digital
system. This will be a system that projects someone’s
events. It will also come with pre-installed data of
worldwide historic events.

The steps to follow if you need to see your own
memories are:
First, select “auto mode”.
Then, take a photograph and say the event you want
to see (use specific details).

Finally, choose “video” or “journal”. If you choose
“video”, you will see the event. If you put “journal”,
you will see a paragraph with details of the event. If
you want historic events, choose “history” and search
the data you want.

This smart invention will help children’s teaching,
forgetful or curious people, too. And in addition to
being helpful, it will be portable.

My last Vacation

My last vacation was great fun and wonderful
because I traveled to Cusco with my mother.

We went by plane to Cusco city and then
we took the train to Machu Picchu. It was a
wonderful trip because I met new friends on
the train. They were from Argentina and we
talked and played a lot.

When we arrived at the Aguas Calientes
train station, we took a bus to the ruins of
Machu Picchu. The ruins were very beautiful
and so big, the sky was wonderful; it was blue
with white clouds. After we looked at the ruins
and walked around the majestic place. We
took the bus back to Aguas Calientes and there
we had lunch at a typical restaurant.

Then, we went to the hotel to rest because
we walked a lot.

After two days in Cusco we came back to
Lima. I really liked this trip because I was at
one of the 7 wonders of the world!

Holiday In The Mountains

It was the second day of Susan’s holiday in the
mountains. The weather was warm and it was a
perfect day for playing tennis.

Susan was waiting for her friend, Mary, when
she heard a zooming noise. She looked up and saw
lots of bees flying down from the mountain. It was
a swarm! Susan was desperately looking for
somewhere to hide when she saw a cabin close by.
She ran quickly and hid inside until the swarm
passed. After a few minutes, she looked for a way
out but the door wouldn’t open.

Finally, she managed to break the window to
escape. Susan was still shaking with fear when the
rescue team arrived. They took her down the
mountain to the village and she felt happy and
relieved to be safe but she decided to go to an
island for her holidays next year.

Beautiful Life

Life is not a race
Take it slowly like a game of chess
Always remember that life is a sun
Take care of it as if it were your puppy.

To have a good life, remember
To smile, cry, run and jump.
Do everything you can
Because there is only one life.

Live your life from the moment
Your dog barks in the morning

Respect others’ lives too
As if they were thin glass

Tic tac goes the clock
Telling you that time passes

And you are still alive
Be always happy like a clown

Sometimes you can feel down
But that’s the way life works
And always remember be happy

A Day In The Forest

One day a group of five friends, Nataly Cesar,
Cristina, Alejandro and his brother Tommy went to
the forest. When they arrived, Nataly said ”I love to
be in the countryside, it is my favorite place to go on
weekends.” Cesar replied “I don’t like it. I hate it
because it’s so dirty”.
The rest of the group didn’t agree with César’s idea.
Alejandro mentioned, “I think that the forest is so
beautiful and is silent as well. Moreover, the trees
are so big that they protect us and the water from
the lake is so clear that you can see the fish in it and
it makes me want to go swimming. Who wants to go
swimming with me? Follow me!”
Everyone except Cesar, who was watching his
friends playing, went swimming. Then little by little,
he started feeling like going to play with them in the
lake.
At the end of the day he was so happy that he
changed his mind about nature.

The Dress

Jen wanted to make a dress all by
herself. She saw the dress in a fashion
magazine. It looked like it would be
simple to sew. She bought some
pretty material and got started. She
chose a cotton print and cut out
different sections. She began to sew
the sections of cloth together. Then
she tried the dress on. The dress did
not fit well at all. She got a real
pattern from the store and with the
pattern and a lot of patience she made
the dress properly.

Food Chain Frenzy

First, Arnold’s class went to a Science
Museum with their teacher Mr. Frizzle
and Arnold thought they would have a
wild adventure.
Then, Arnold´s cousin, Janet went to
visit the school and she stayed for
several days and said her class was
better than anyone else’s.
After that, the bus began to fly and
looked like a big snake moving through
the middle of the woods.
Later, they saw a huge whale that
wanted to eat them.
Finally, they returned to school after the
great adventure.
I will tell all of my friends to read this
book because it is very interesting. You
will enjoy it and learn about food chains.

The Ugly Vegetables

One day a girl and her mom started to plant a
garden; her neighbors were planting a garden,
too. The mom used big shovels to dig a hole but
her neighbors used a small shovel. The mom used
a hose to water the plants. Mom was planting
Chinese vegetables.

One day, the girl noticed that the vegetables
were growing. The girl ran to the neighbors’
garden to see if theirs had grown. The girl was
very sad because her garden was ugly and dark
and her neighbors’ garden was beautiful.

One day the mom and the girl picked the
vegetables from the garden. Mom was preparing
a special soup.

When the girl got home her mother gave her a
bowl of soup. She tasted it and she was surprised
because it was delicious and it was cooked with
the ugly vegetables.

When the neighbors smelled the scent of the soup
they went to the mom’s house. They brought
flowers to the mom and the girl because they
wanted to eat the soup. The mom gave some soup
to her neighbors. It was the best dinner ever.

The mom, the girl and the neighbors will smell
soup in the air.

Next Spring, the mom, the girl and neighbors will
plant Chinese vegetables next to their flowers.
The mom, the girl and the neighbors will smell
soup in the air.

The Secret Chef

Jack was asleep in the chair, dreaming, when the
phone rang. He answered. It was his mom, as
usual. She told him to go and buy some vegetables
because his Aunt Ana was going to have dinner
with them. As Jack was sleepy he understood
everything wrong. He thought he needed to eat
vegetables at Aunt Ana´s house.
So he went to his aunt’s house and knocked at the
door. Nobody opened it. Then, he called his mom
and told her that nobody answered the door. His
mom shouted him and asked him “Which door?”
So he told her everything and then his mom told
him he did everything wrong.
He listened carefully and immediately went to the
store to buy some vegetables like tomatoes,
lettuce, pickles, carrots.
When he got home his mom was very mad at him
so before his mom told him what to do he started
to make the salad. He discovered he was a skillful
cook so from that moment cooking was neither
boring nor a punishment anymore. At last, his
mom was proud of him, and he studied and
became a well-known chef.

The Mystery of the Pizza Place

One day, at Don Juan´s Pizza Place, an adult puffle,
that liked this restaurant very much, was working
with his favorite customer; Pedrito, a child puffle
who liked to help Don Juan puffle in the pizzeria.

Suddenly, George, an annoying puffle that liked
the pizzas Don Juan cooked, came into the pizzeria
and said “Hello Don Juan, Hello Pedrito, Can you
give me a pizza?”

“Hello George, Do you want to help us?”
Pedrito asked.

“Ok, but then you are going to give me a pizza.”
George replied.

The three puffles were cleaning the restaurant,
but then the lights went out and when they came
on again … THERE WERE NO PIZZAS!

The three piffles were looking for the food in
the kitchen but there was not a single pizza. They
looked carefully, and they found some clues.

They followed the footprints, and at the end of
the trail they found all the pizzas in George´s house.

George explained to the puffles that he liked
pizzas very much and he was sorry. The puffles
forgave him.

Finally all of them enjoyed the pizzas together.

Get a brush and comb
your hair until it is soft
and without knots

Separate your hair into
2 sections in order to
obtain a half pony tail
with the upper section.
Tie your hair firmly with
a hair elastic to avoid
leaving hair outside the
collet. Begin with the
half tail and then with
the other section.

With the top section
make a braid with the
hair that falls from the
tail. And tie the braid
at the end with
another hair elastic.

Make a bow with the
braid and secure it with
two hairpins. Be sure
the bow is straightened
up enough so it won’t
fall.

Take small sections of
hair and with the help
of the curling tongs,
start making curls until
the whole section is
done.

Do two braids on the
front section with two
small tufts of hair.

Place the two braids in
the bow and secure
them with a hairclip.
The braids create a
sophisticated look.

Apply a bit of hairspray
so the hairdo will last
longer.

Cover the bow you
already made with a
ribbon in order to
secure it and prevent it
from falling. As you can
see, it gives a nice
touch to the hairdo.

Add hooks or other
striking objects to your
hairdo in order to make
it much elaborated and
personalized.
