onto my lap and he snuggled up against me. I laid

my head on Mark’s shoulder. He shifted to laid

his head on top of my head putting his left arm

around me. I gave in to the urge to close my eyes.

Slowly I drifted off to sleep for the first time in

weeks feeling safe. I know what we did was right.

Every bone in my body knows it too. The world

on the other hand, thinks Mark and I are fugitives

and kidnappers who kidnapped each other’s

siblings after running away from home. The home

that anyone would want. The home that everyone

would give anything for just a few minutes inside.

They don’t know the whole story. They don’t know

why we ran.. We may look like fugitives to the

world but we are in fact undeniably Heroes.

NightTheTheNight

Night is upon us.
Dark and cruel as can be.
With memories, but no hope of rainbows,
Our blackened fate is all we see.
Dim lit moon howls loud in pain,
The air around us cries,
As tears of snowy, precious pearls,
Plummet from diamond eyes.

This wretched, wretched night upon us,
This night is still so young

By frailest razor, with no might,
Our faith in morrow hung.

This putrid night , so full of dearth,
We cling to dear life,

Dream of flight from a world of pain,
On the edge of a rusty knife.

This frigid, unforgiving night upon us,
My child, but it will pass.

The sun of ‘morrow, shining light,
Whose light will encompass.
All the sorrow, all the pain,
Will scurry with dismay.
All the hope you can imagine,
is just a dawn away.

अप्रतिम तेरा ये शौर्य, अस्त्र शस्त्र को देदे मात
ब्रह्मास्त्र भी पड़े विफल, तेरा ऐसा घातक प्रतिघात

उठा धनुष ये पौरुष का, साध निशाना अडिग अटल
आये घर्षण आये पर्वत हर बाधा को भेदता चल

बाण चला तू ऐसा अपना, हर लक्ष्य छिद्र छिद्र हो जाये
तेरा निशाना ऐसा हो, अर्जुन का गांडीव भी झुक जाए

ये कु रुक्ेषत्र का युद्ध नहीं, धरती तेरी रणभमू ि है
रच सामर्थ्य से ऐसी गाथा जो हर शिखर को चमू ि है

बनाके दुर्गम पथ पे मार्ग, आगे बढ़ लेके अपना बल
लहराता चल विजय का परचम, तू स्वयं ही पांडव का है दल।

इस सुने पतझड़ मंे जो छोड़ गए तुम मुझे

न कुछ मेरा, नहीं मैं कुछ। मैं अंतरात्मा का सत्य हूँ।
संभावनाएँ हैं अनंतानंत
मैं अग्नि हूँ जो नाश
और नहीं सही। कर सके गा तेरा भय कभी।

मैं शनू ्य हूँ, सहस्र भी, खोज क्यों रहे हो तुम

जब भी बच्चों को डर लगता मंै याद आती हूँ

उनको हँसता देख मंै भी हंसती हूँ
मंै भी हंसती हूँ ।

तुम तो इंसान हो न… तो हर दिन सुहानी नही होती
वसै ॆ ही जब तफू ान आता तो मैं भी बुझती हूँ
और मेरी कहानी परू ी नही होती
कहानी परू ी नही होती ।
धीमी सी रोशनी रसॊई में मैं माँ को दॆती हूं
मंै जलती जरूर हुन मगर
तुम्हे जली रोटी जही देती हूं ।

तुम जानते हो जब तुम आके मुझे बुझने सॆ बचाते हो न
तब मंै बहुत खुश होती हूँ
मंै बहुत खुश होती हूँ ।

तुमभी मुझसॆ कुछ सिख सकतॆ हॊ
मंज़िल मॆरी चाहॆ बझू ना ही हो

मगर मॆरी ख्वाहिश तो रोशनी है ।
