Under the Centre’s earlier banner of CENTRE FOR SATELLTE, research work was done by consortium
of seven engineering colleges from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with NMIT as the lead Centre. This
consortium of students and teachers designed, developed, and fabricated India’s first Pico – Satellite
(weighing 850 gm) with the guidance from ISRO Scientists. The Satellite, named as STUDSAT, took to
the orbit in the year July 2010 from Sriharikota aboard the PSLV C – 15 with CARTOSAT 2B and it was
placed into the orbit of 630km above the earth and was successfully tracked by the Ground Station
NASTRAC at NMIT.

Activities at CDEPS:
The Centre has upgraded the available software version to the latest version of 3DExperience
(3DExperience 2020X) from Dassault Systemes.
The Centre has been equipped with 30 licenses of ANSYS during June 2019 and faculty/students
from various departments is making use of the facility for projects/research.
The Centre in association with Innovent Technologies conducted five days hands-on faculty
development program on “Product Design and Analysis using ANSYS Workbench and APDL” during
16th to 20th July 2019.
Centre has signed an MoU with Starya Mobility Pvt Ltd for the design and development of electric
two-wheelers.
The Centre is providing training on Product design and development for mechanical and aeronautical
engineering students using software package obtained from Dassault Systems and ANSYS.

The NMIT Music Club (@music_club_nmit) is
one of the most active and
accomplished cultural clubs in
NMIT. There are 50 passionate
musicians spread across all
genres of music. The members
of the music club have been
performing on various stages
around the country. They are
regular winners at several
national level fests and
competitions. The club always
encourages new talent and
believes that collaboration is
of paramount importance in
its development.
The music club consists of 3 bands, 1 Acapella
team and many solo musicians. They conduct
events and workshops throughout the year and
have an excellent presence on Social Media.
It hosts one of the best music competitions
with many events like battle of the bands, solo
singing, solo instrumental, rap battle, disc battle
where participants from across the country come

SANGHARSH.
Beginning from our very own college fest competing
against our bangalore teams to becoming winners
competing against the top teams in the country in some of
the biggest fests of India like IIT madras Saarang and BITS
goa Waves we have over 42 prizes under our belt and we
stand tall when it comes to the list of best contemporary
dance teams in Bangalore.And yet again in 2019 we have
begun exploring something new, something creative,

The fashion team is a sector that works to meet the
demand for apparel and dictates the trends for what
should be worn. This whole consists of five distinct and
separate levels. These levels are haute couture, luxury
wear, affordable luxury wear, mainstream clothing .
Various teams bring that vision to life. The team include
everything from design team to production team to
sales team. There is usually a team maintaining and
coordinating side by side to make the show happen
. It bring in a lot of team work to put through a great

Art Club is a group of students organized and established to promote
and develop the interests and skills of students in arts and crafts.
It is student initiated, and emphasis is placed on individual skills,
leadership development, and creativity, by organizing and conducting
various hands-on activities, competitions, creation of Art and Craft
models for decoration of the campus on annual college fest and various
other occasions.
Putting out best ideas and make something beautiful out of it,
displayed the models during the college’s annual fest ANAADYANTA
every year.

Literary forum With over a decade’s experience in the
cultural activities of NMIT,the Literary Forum
is a premier cultural institution and the center
of intellectual discourse in the college. The
forum regularly hosts fun filled sessions of
debate,discussion,creative writing, quizzes
and JAM in its saturday meetings .The
members participate and regularly bag prizes
in various fests both in the city and in national
level events .The Forum also hosts multiple
events for the college fests: Inception and
Anaadyanta which have been very popular
and sees large numbers of participants every
year.As of 2019,The Forum has also started
the Quiz club under its banner to cater to
NMIT’s growing quizzing culture as well as to
prepare quizzes for events and participate in
Quizzes hosted in other colleges.
